The Party Of Jogjakarta Civilian

[ Kalimantan], [ Sigmanews].co.id - Kamera tersembunyi telah menangkap gambar dari badak Sumatera yang terancam punah di pulau Kalimantan. Sebelumnya, oleh World Wildlife Fund for Natures (WWF), hewan ini dianggap telah lama mati.
Dilansir oleh Telegraph, Enam belas kamera perangkap yang dilengkapi dengan sensor gerak yang sering digunakan dalam penelitian ekologi ini merekam badak yang sedang berjalan melalui hutan dan berkubang dalam lumpur di Kutai Barat, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur.
Video yang direkam pada tanggal 23 Juni, 30 Juni dan 3 Agustus ini diyakini dapat menunjukkan badak yang berbeda, meskipun WWF mengatakan konfirmasi ini akan memerlukan studi lebih lanjut.
Dulu, ada satu badak Sumatera yang ditemukan di Kalimantan, tetapi jumlah mereka menyusut drastis dan mereka dianggap hanya terdapat di Malaysia.
Namun penelitian yang diungkapkan pada hari Rabu, upaya bersama antara WWF dan pihak berwenang di Kutai Barat, menunjukkan bahwa hewan ini masih berada di Kalimanta, Indonesia. (Dean)
