== Double the oats for a pleasing holiday cookie ==
 +
 +
<html>These double-the-oats oatmeal cookies are so jammed with oats making them tender and wonderfully chewy and rich that I've been known to take them on vacation just so I can enjoy a familiar breakfast. Because if you could enjoy your morning bowl of oatmeal in the form of a cookie, why not?
 +
The inspiration for this cookie actually began with my dislike of raisins. Most oatmeal cookies are packed with raisins, which usually turns me off. So I wanted to create my own take on this classic cookie.
 +
I started with a basic cookie dough made with creamed butter, then added twice as many oats as a traditional cookie. I also substituted dried cherries for the raisins. The result was a good cookie, but it wasn't a great cookie. I wanted to be able to taste the individual ingredients, and I wanted a crispier texture.
 +
I was at loss until a trip to Houston unexpectedly gave me the answer. I was visiting a friend whose mom recently had sent him a tin of her oatmeal cookies. I tried one and wanted to eat the entire batch. I loved the texture and the light, clean taste. They were crisp and toothsome, everything I was looking for.
 +
The secret? She used vegetable oil instead of butter.
 +
At first, I thought this was odd, but then I realized that a lot of my favorite cakes were made with oil, not butter. As soon as I got home,[http://www.sanshacity.com.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=217400 ], I tested my recipe with oil and I could not believe the difference. My cookies had gone from good to great and I started baking them weekly.
 +
Because I like to eat these cookies for breakfast with a cup of coffee,[http://swargaranischool.com/miscellaneaus.html <strong>nfl panthers jerseys</strong>], I bake them and keep them in the freezer so I have them on hand most of the time. I generally bake the cookies with dried cherries and pecans, which makes me equate them with eating a bowl of granola.
 +
But during the holidays, I love making them with dark chocolate chips and walnuts. The addition of the rich chocolate makes them more decadent and takes them from a breakfast cookie to a special occasion cookie.

DOUBLE-THE-OATS OATMEAL COOKIES
 +
Feel free to substitute 1 1/2 cups of dark chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped walnuts for the dried cherries and pecans. Either version is delicious and perfect for a holiday or any day treat.
 +
Start to finish: 30 minutes
 +
Makes 3 dozen cookies
 +
2 eggs
 +
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
 +
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
 +
1/2 cup granulated sugar
 +
1 cup vegetable oil
 +
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
 +
1 teaspoon baking soda
 +
2 teaspoons cinnamon
 +
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
 +
1/2 teaspoon salt
 +
3 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (not quick-cooking), divided
 +
1 1/3 cups dried cherries
 +
1 generous cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped
 +
Heat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with kitchen parchment.
 +
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla until frothy. Add both sugars and the oil. Mix until well blended and creamy in appearance.
 +
In a medium bowl,[http://arabianincentive.com/redskins-jersey.html <strong>redskins jersey</strong>], whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom and salt. Add to sugar and egg mixture and mix until completely combined. Mix in 2 cups of the oats, then the cherries and pecans. Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of oats and mix well. The batter will be stiff.
 +
Working in batches, use a teaspoon to drop cookie dough on the prepared cookie, leaving about 2 inches between cookies. Bake for 14 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and still soft at the center. Cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then use a spatula to transfer to a rack to cool completely.

- Jojo Kemp s dive to the end zone Saturday was one of the few highlights from the Vanderbilt game. It s the second time this year Jojo has turned Superman dives into Kodak moments. For Jojo it s no big deal, just another part of his game, I m a player man, it just happens. When I see the goal line right there and there s a defender coming, I gotta find some way to get in the end zone. If it s not a weak-shoulder cut and I can t go around them, I m going to try to go over them. It s just my player instincts.
 +
 +
- Big players make big plays in big games. One of the biggest problems for the UK offense this year has been making big plays in big situations. They ve improved from last year; the 10 plays over 40 yards this season match the totals from the previous two seasons. Neal Brown measures explosive plays a little differently,[http://lampit.in/Projects.html <strong>Cheap NFL Jerseys</strong>], placing every screen/run of 12-yards or more and every pass of 18-yards+ in the category of explosive. The Cats had 8 against Vanderbilt, but Brown isn t satisfied and knows what it takes to get more,[http://tbcrecruiting.com/MasterPage.aspx <strong>seattle seahawks jersey</strong>], Theres ones that I can create through a game plan and maybe schematically, and then theres ones that the guys create by making people miss in space.

 +
- On Monday the plans for the new Commonwealth Stadium will officially be unveiled. Coach Stoops said he wasn t too involved in the project but, Hopefully we can do some other additions as we move forward that Ill be very involved with.
 +
 +
- Coach Stoops talked about the progress of Reese Phillips today during the weekly SEC teleconference. Reese will keep his redshirt for the rest of the season, but has moved to #2 on the depth and earned himself the right to battle for a starting spot in the Spring. Coach Brown let us know today why Reese has impressed them so much,[http://qzmuseum.net/Review.asp?NewsID=139 JFK And Jackie At Love Field], I like his demeanor. Hes never rattled. Hes got a confident kind of aura about him. In live situations, hes made good decisions,[http://bbs.piziwan.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=15510 Birds of prey seize the day in battle with gulls], he gets the ball out of his hand fast, and hes accurate with the football.
 +
 +
- Usually bowl game practices are not just for bowl game preparation. They also provide the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate the young talent that has spent the season redshirting. Without a postseason in the future,[http://glenspark.com/software.html <strong>Cheap Jerseys Online</strong>], Stoops is doing what he can to get a jump-start on next year, (We re) Trying to incorporate and get them some extra practice. After practice, working with the young guys, the redshirt guys, and then also getting them in some team reps to see how comfortable they are and what they can handle.

Coach stoops said I can come back for an extra year. Might just consider it???

What does Stoops have to say about this? Well, Id love to have him another year So well petition that. Hopefully hell be playing in the NFL, right? Even though Neal Brown didn t get asked about Avery s Tweet, he even said something about keeping them team s leader around a little longer, I wish they wouldve redshirted him, though, I dont guess we can get that back.

== One family's farewell to JFK ==
 +
 +
<html>''They've shot the president!''
 +
 +
I looked up to see my secretary standing breathless in my office doorway. As head of a community college in New York City, I knew lots of college presidents and almost asked which one had been shot, but then my public relations director came in, tears in her eyes, and blurted, ''Kennedy is dead!''
 +
 +
I must confess that my first concerns on that day 40 years ago were not for the welfare of our country. Instead, rather mundane questions came to mind: Do we shut school and send everyone home? Do we cancel the formal ball scheduled for that evening, even though the hotel was already paid for and students had purchased or rented their fancy duds?
 +
 +
By now, a number of colleagues had gathered in the office. As we debated what actions to take, my public relations director brought us to our senses. ''Hey guys,'' she said. ''The president of the United States was just assassinated. It is not business as usual.''
 +
 +
She was right, of course, and the dance and all classes were quickly canceled. As I rushed home to be with my family, I felt ashamed of my indecision upon learning of the tragic events in Dallas. But looking back, I realize we all were suffering a form of shock, and it took some time for the enormity of the president's assassination to sink in.
 +
 +
I spent the weekend in front of the television with my wife, Estelle, and our three children. Never before had we seen history unfold before us so dramatically. We watched endless footage of the motorcade in Dallas just before the fatal shots were fired. We witnessed the confusion that followed and the attempts to get the president to the hospital quickly. And we were right at the TV set as the suspected assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was shot to death by Jack Ruby.
 +
 +
President Kennedy was special in our household. He was the first president of my generation -- not some old codger to whom I could not relate. Even more, he was the first president my sons really knew. At ages 14 and 12, Richard and Paul were becoming interested in politics, and Kennedy's youthful charm was infectious. Jo-Carol was only 7, but she, too, was caught up in the events.
 +
 +
Sunday evening, we were watching the endless line of people entering the Capitol to pay their final respects as JFK lay in state in the Rotunda, when one of the boys said, ''Why don't we go down to Washington for tomorrow's funeral?'' The other children took up the idea.
 +
 +
Estelle looked at me, and we came to an unspoken agreement. ''OK,'' she announced. ''Get washed up and put on clean clothes. Dad and I will put some food together. And don't forget to go to the toilet.''
 +
 +
We had done a lot of traveling with our kids before this, but never were they as cooperative and well behaved as on this journey. We drove for five hours, arriving in the nation's capital close to 3 a.m.
 +
 +
Although we had been watching the crowds gather in Washington on TV, we were not prepared for what we encountered. Traffic was heavy,[http://www.peopleontheverge.com/naokanabbs/bbs.cgi LEDWHOLESALERS 2516 Pro-],[http://lampit.in/Projects.html <strong>Cheap NFL Jerseys</strong>], but very orderly. We were fortunate to find a parking lot -- not too far from the end of the line winding its way to the Capitol steps, at least two miles away.
 +
 +
''Line'' is perhaps not an accurate description. We weren't in single file but in family clusters, four and five abreast, as we moved forward very, very slowly. I knew there could be 50,000 or more people ahead of us, and I wondered if we would reach the Capitol before the funeral began.
 +
 +
Hundreds of thousands had descended on Washington for the funeral. Soldiers and police were everywhere to provide assistance and to point out the nearest public toilets. No stores were open, but a few enterprising people showed up with sandwiches and sodas for sale. Most mourners had come as we did, with only nibbles to carry us through the night, so we considered this a thoughtful accommodation rather than an opportunity to make a buck.
 +
 +
The city teemed with humanity, yet everything seemed peaceful and calm. I felt a sense of serenity that I had never experienced before, or since, in any American city. We walked silently for the most part. Occasionally, someone would begin to sing softly, a hymn or other inspirational song -- I remember ''The Battle Hymn of the Republic'' at one time -- and soon dozens of people would join in. There was an eerie spiritual atmosphere as the darkness of night gave way to dawn.
 +
 +
By now we were within sight of the Capitol, but the entrance to the Rotunda was still quite a distance away. As the sky grew brighter, we wished we could push the people in front of us to move faster. By 8:30 we were about to enter the plaza in front of the Capitol. Behind us, the line stretched back as far as when we had joined the procession in the middle of the night. As we were about to turn toward the Capitol entrance, the signal came to halt the line,[http://www.visionaround.com/newfile.php <strong>atlanta falcons jersey</strong>], and the doors were closed.
 +
 +
We were quite disappointed, but then realized we were right where the funeral procession would descend the Capitol steps. We took our place at the front of the enormous crowd, near one of the hastily constructed platforms on which big, ungainly television cameras had been set up.
 +
 +
We fell silent as the coffin was carried down the steps and placed on the same caisson that bore Lincoln's coffin a century earlier. We watched the Kennedy family come out of the Capitol. Bobby and Jackie Kennedy,[http://haayea.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2568921 Tea party Rep. Trey Radel busted for cocaine in D.C.], with her children at her side, stood stoically at the bottom of the steps. Most heart-rending was the moment when the caisson carrying the flag-draped coffin started away to the steady cadence of military drums. Following, very slowly, was a riderless jet-black horse,[http://swargaranischool.com/miscellaneaus.html <strong>nfl panthers jerseys</strong>], a pair of boots suspended in the stirrups of the empty saddle. The boots faced backward, symbolizing that the rider was deceased.
 +
 +
As Jackie, her children and the rest of the Kennedy clan lined up behind the caisson, I felt that we were truly a part of their family, and I felt more connected to my own family and to my fellow citizens than ever before.
 +
 +
John F. Kennedy was the second president to die in office during my lifetime. I was 21 and on a troop train heading for deployment overseas when word came of the unexpected death of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was my idol, our great wartime leader, and his passing was a great shock. But he had died of natural causes, in an age before instant television coverage, and the enormity of his death did not hit me as hard.
 +
 +
Kennedy, on the other hand, had been assassinated, and the entire nation watched events occur in real time. Yet while I had a sinking feeling that our country was heading into difficult and dangerous times, that long night walking in solemn procession with my family and with my fellow Americans reassured me that somehow we would survive.
 +
 +
No other event caused me so great a concern for the future of our country -- until 38 years later as we sat glued to the television watching the towers of the World Trade Center collapse.
 +
 +
At the time of JFK's assassination, Murray H. Block was acting president of New York City Community College. He was president of Manhattan Community College from 1965 to 1970 and then deputy to the chancellor of SUNY. Since retiring in 1983, he has served as interim president at numerous colleges, including Excelsior College, where at age 89 he currently serves as chief of staff to President John Ebersole. His wife, Estelle, passed away in 2011, and their daughter, Jo-Carol, became a popular San Francisco singer but passed away in 2003. His son Richard is a professor at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, where he and his wife raise sled dogs. His son Paul is a novelist and executive producer of timesunion.com.

As the trans-male parent of two children I have raised myself since birth, I can say that there are no bigoted remarks that touch me.
 +

When I walk into a place where I must disclose my former gender, I walk in flanked by 6′ and 6’3″,[http://www.visionaround.com/newpro.php <strong>jerseys online</strong>], and they are all the support I need.
 +
 +
I brought my boys into the world. I have given them love and support, and I taught them to be respectful and kind.
 +
 +
If you believe that the only way to raise a child is based upon how you use your loins, then you are terribly mistaken.
 +
 +
What lives and breathes between my legs has nothing to do with the kind of parent I have been. I have failed at many things in my life, but the one thing I have done the best was raise my boys!
 +
 +
Now, you may feel free to take exception to my claims, but your exceptions will carry neither weight nor authority because you have never met my boys, and therefore, you have no idea who they are or how they have turned out.
 +
 +
Regardless, the ones who are shortsighted and those who see only what you carry in your britches as opposed to what you carry in your heart are not and should never be the decision makers when it comes to who makes a good parent.
 +
 +
Being a good parent is actually a very easy thing to do. It only requires love and work! Everything else comes along in time.
 +

The law is not a weapon you can hurl at someone whose personal beliefs you do not agree with.
 +

The United States was not built upon a premise that all men were created heterosexual and married!
 +
 +
If you don’t agree with my choices, my lifestyle, or my resolve… that’s okay, because in America I am supposed to be free to be myself and so are you.
 +

But what America does not stand for is unequal treatment under the law!
 +

Every time a judge steps over the law to enforce his/her beliefs,[http://www.wagang.jp/bbss/utf8-bbs/jawanote.cgi Theo And Beau- Napping Toddle], that judge is doing detrimental damage to a system that is supposed to support freedom and equality.

== UCLA OL Goines, WRs Mazzone, Andrews Need Surgery  CB ==
 +
 +
<html>LOS ANGELES (AP)?― UCLA left tackle Simon Goines had surgery Sunday on a broken bone in his right leg, sidelining another key player for the No. 22 Bruins regular-season finale against Southern California.
 +
 +
Receivers Gray Mazzone and Darren Andrews also are out for the season after they were injured in the Bruins 38-33 loss to Arizona State on Saturday, ending their chances of winning the Pac-12 South and dropping UCLA eight spots in the Top 25.
 +
 +
Goines is the latest major injury loss for the Bruins (8-3, 5-3 Pac-12), who likely will face their crosstown rivals at the Coliseum with three freshman starters on their offensive line.
 +
 +
Goines started five of the Bruins first six games at left tackle and another at right tackle, but he missed UCLA s next four games with a right knee injury.
 +
 +
The sophomore returned to the starting lineup against the Sun Devils, but had to be helped off the field in the second quarter with what turned out to be a broken fibula.
 +
 +
Goines tweeted a photo of his own bandaged leg from his hospital bed Sunday with the caption: Just a minor setback for a major comeback.
 +
UCLA coach Jim Mora said Goines injury is similar to the one that ended the regular season for Torian White, the Bruins other starting tackle to open the season, in early October.
 +
 +
The injuries likely mean freshmen Alex Redmond,[http://essaetec.com/football-jerseys.html <strong>cheap football jerseys</strong>],[http://noamik.de/wiki/index.php/Benutzer:Zjyiedop7#Kanye_.28And_Virgil_.26_Kim_K..29_Goes_To_Harvard_.2B_Pops_More Kanye (And Virgil & Kim K.)  +
 +
UCLA s young offensive line looked painfully overmatched at times against Arizona State s Will Sutton and his veteran teammates. Quarterback Brett Hundley was sacked nine times. USC s defensive front is similarly tough,[http://wiki.nalaginrut.com/index.php?title=%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7:Trkicryg8#Nelsonville_Earthquake-_3.5_Magnitude_Quake_Hits_Ohio_Town_.5B Nelsonville Earthquake- 3.5 Magnitude Quake Hits Ohio Town [], with Leonard Williams and George Uko leading a unit that has grown increasingly dominant in recent weeks.
 +
 +
The positive is they re getting great experience that s going to help us down the road tremendously, Mora said of his young linemen.
 +
 +
Mazzone, a senior transfer from East Carolina and the son of offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, apparently was injured on the final drive of the Bruins loss to Arizona State. He has 12 catches for 173 yards this season.
 +
 +
Andrews has a lateral meniscus tear,[http://aquastartech.com/sitewithmalware/cheap-jerseys-from-china.html <strong>cheap jerseys from china</strong>], Mora said. The speedy freshman made four receptions and returned two punts for UCLA this season.
 +
 +
Mora got a bit of good news in another dour injury report when he learned receiver Devin Fuller is likely to play against the Trojans. Fuller was the Bruins leading receiver with 40 catches for 453 yards before sitting out with a strained hamstring against Arizona State.

 +

<html>How often have I been in a rush to get home when I’ve found myself stuck behind a line of cars (or sometimes, though it hardly matters, I am the head of the line) waiting on the road for the train to pass through! There’s always that warning bell ringing and the flashing red light and then the big wooden arms coming down and the inevitable “Damn!” that you think as the next five or even ten minutes are given up to waiting for a train to go by.
 +
 +
If you’re lucky it’s the rare Amtrak track that comes by, quickly and with only three or four cars,[http://www.gayanasamaja.org/neo.htm <strong>nba jerseys</strong>], and it’s over before you have time to get aggravated. But more often than not,[http://cqqz.dld.cc/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=45707 The new mom Crossfit phenomenon], it’s one of those extremely long, empty trains with hundreds of cars (I might be exaggerating) going ever so slowly and carefully,[http://bangalorewebhosting.com/SEO-services/texans-jersey.html <strong>houston texans jersey</strong>],[http://www.blesky.chytame.info/index.php?site=forum_topic&topic=195195 Philadelphia becomes the first US city to ban 3D], and lately I have allowed a calm to settle in while waiting for the train to go past. I think to myself that it is a curious thing in the twenty-first century to watch an old-timey Union Pacific train rattling past with cars still labeled with slogans like “Building America” and “We Will Deliver.” I mean, it is really remarkable. Plus,[http://softvent.com/prd_FAM.html <strong>cheap packers jerseys</strong>], it is simply a moment for me to stop and notice things, to pay attention, as I am always instructing myself to do.
 +
 +
And is it really such a terrible thing to be stopped in your car, watching train cars rumble past in their hypnotic way? I have no idea where they are going or where they came from, and right there you’ve got all the symbolism you need for some great metaphor about life. But I will stop right here. As I am stopped regularly waiting for those great metal cars to glide past, over and over, in their seemingly endless display. And then, when they are good and ready, to let me cross to the other side.</html>

Green,[http://xn--1qqw23aeyecud.net/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=339394 ], who loved hunting and fishing, was found by a motorist in the 18000 block of North U.S. 441 around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 30, 2012. He had injuries to his head and mouth and was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville for treatment.
 +
Bracey said her son stayed at the hospital from Oct. 1 to Nov. 9, then was transferred to Jacksonville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where he stayed less than two days before returning to Shands in Gainesville.
 +
Bracey remained at Shands until Nov. 23, when he was taken to the rehabilitation center and died Nov. 28, a week after his 19th birthday.
 +
He was laid back and outgoing. I miss him, I miss him. I hope whoever did this will come forward, she said.
 +
Detective Erik Dice of the Marion County Sheriff s Office, who is the lead investigator in the case, said Green was among a large gathering at a spot known in Citra as the Palate Yard, a popular hangout location, when a fight broke out in which shots were fired. Dice said Green was involved in neither the fighting nor the shooting. Green left the gathering with friends and went to a convenience store at the intersection of County Road 318 and U.S. 441 in Orange Lake.
 +
After purchasing an item, Green, wearing tennis shoes, blue jeans, shorts and his shirt off, left the store, walking southbound along U.S. 441 toward a family member s residence in Reddick.
 +
Shortly after leaving the store s parking lot,[http://www.visionaround.com/events.php <strong>cheap nfl jersey</strong>], Dice said there was altercation between two girls in the parking lot and the clerk called law enforcement. That forced everyone to leave the premises.
 +
A friend drove down U.S. 441 toward Reddick, looking for Green, but was unsuccessful. A passerby saw Green s body lying on the side of the road, about 1/8 of a mile from the store, and called 911.
 +
Medical personnel, sheriff s deputies along with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the area. Green was taken to Shands. The detective said Green died from complications of a blunt head trauma.
 +
The cause of (Green s) injuries are still under investigation, and the Sheriff s Office and the FHP have been working together in attempts to confirm whether this incident is traffic-related or the result of foul play, Dice said.
 +
Bracey does not believe her son was a victim of a hit and run. From what she has been told, she said her son was beaten with a stick and the perpetrators took his wallet and jacket and left him on the side of the road. She said he witnessed someone being beaten and tried to stop it when he was jumped.
 +
I want my child to rest in peace. I miss his smile, him talking to me, his joking around, his smile and laughter, she said. It has been a long year.
 +
In the year since his death,[http://essaetec.com/football-jerseys.html <strong>cheap football jerseys</strong>], Bracey said she has her good days and her bad days.
 +
I struggle through it, but I won t complain, she said.
 +
In memory of his death, Bracey and other family members held a candlelight vigil at her Ocala home on Saturday, hoping some news will break on Green s death.
 +
I m praying for justice, she said.
 +
Sheriff s officials said anyone with information about Green s death can be eligible for a reward of up to $5,[http://dpitsolutions.com.au/RemotesAccess.aspx <strong>football jerseys</strong>],000 and can call Crime Stoppers at 368-STOP, or Dice at 368-3545.</html>

<html>Man i was miserably sick this whole weekend Cough so bad and couldn t stop it, throat so sore i couldn t swallow solid food and even water was a ordeal getting down but this was all day friday, saturday and sunday. In fact majority of the hours i was even awake was for the Phins game. There were a few shitty plays but these are the ones that i mustered up as much of my energy as i could to yell at the TV.
 +
 +
First were the shitty throws to Wallace. He was open all day long on the deep route and Tanny underthrows him three times, once at least was good enough for him to come back catch it and still break free for the TD, once where he gets the completion but would have been a TD had he not had to slow down and once where,[http://kfq.nthb.cn/Review.asp?NewsID=871 After Rep. Radel's cocaine bust, a Connie Mack comeback-], given he has no skills for fighting for the ball, they missed another TD. I screamed .reach back and throw the fucking ball Tanny! in a very hoarse, strained voice. When he finally threw it and over threw him, my Wife asked, what your not going to scream about that one. To this i said, no because thats a learning step.
 +
 +
Second one was the pick up the flag BS when Rishad got rocked in the end zone. Now i know you have to maintain control over the ball for a few seconds after hitting it but that was pretty friggin close to a catch anyways and Rishad really steeped up on that play,[http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~sinpei/honey/honey.cgi Knicks' home woes continue],[http://aquastartech.com/sitewithmalware/cheap-jerseys-from-china.html <strong>cheap jerseys from china</strong>], he knew he was going to get rocked. Thats second in two games where Keuchley has benefited from them picking up a flag and it has cost the other team a win. Both times he was in the wrong. I guess he is the new glory boy on defense, but that cost us the game. If that play stands we score and the distance between winning and losing becomes too much for them to over come.<br>
 +
*<br>
 +
The 4th and 12 they let them pick up that also cost us the game. Grimes and Clemons pretty much obstructed each other and neither of them had the coverage on him they should have. I know Grime can run with Smith and he should have been right on his back, Clemons needed to be closer and in position to move infront,[http://unicard.in/SofteSolution.aspx <strong>oakland raiders jerseys</strong>], both whiffed and winded only taking out each other. Very disappointing. Both are playing really well so im not going to pin all the blame on them but that was when i knew it was over. I held on to a little hope that they would only get a FG but my gut knew this was probably over.<br>
 +
*<br>
 +
The drop by Wallace that would have been a TD OMG i screamed in despair because it was right there, the Win, the Kill, the Tanny/Wallace connection, we all have been waiting to gel Right there!<br>
 +
*<br>
 +
Last part I yelled at was Tanny practically running the game out for them. I dont know what the fuck he was thinking but he could have had another play or two had he fucking thrown that ball out of play instead of the shit he did,[http://imporcelos.com/funcse.php <strong>broncos jerseys 2013</strong>].</html>

<html>Obama encouraged Hollywood to make peace with Silicon Valley

The Journal's sources also say that Obama offered help in bridging the divide between tech and entertainment, which frequently find themselves at odds: Silicon Valley characterizes Hollywood as out of touch with reality,[http://biztechbh.biz/ContactUs.html <strong>great jerseys online</strong>],[http://1.3.dzz.cc/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1258647 Pictures in the News], while Hollywood accuses Silicon Valley of running roughshod over a vibrant business in order to make a buck.  +

In his DreamWorks speech, Obama praised Hollywood as an economic powerhouse and a producer of soft diplomatic power. "[People abroad]&nbsp;might not know the Gettysburg Address, but if they're watching some old movie, maybe Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, or The Mary Tyler Moore Show,[http://www.semturn.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2991930 Horseshoe Bay luxury waterfront],[http://tbcrecruiting.com/Heritagesfac.aspx <strong>nfl jerseys from china</strong>], or Will and Grace and Modern Family, they've had a front-row seat to our march towards progress, even if their own nations haven't made that progress yet." == CIA reportedly turned Guantanamo Bay detainees into double a ==
 +
 +
<html>The CIA sent some Guantanamo Bay detainees back home as double agents and used their information to help find and kill terrorists, . Anonymous US officials tell the AP that prisoners were offered millions of dollars, freedom, and safety for their families in exchange for help. Though only a small number of prisoners are said to have been part of the program, the AP reports that they collectively helped the CIA find and kill many top members of al-Qaeda. The program reportedly began after 9/11 and was ended in 2006.
 +
 +
 +
 +
The program was run out of a facility called 'Penny Lane'
 +
 +
According to the AP, some aspects of the program were carried out from a secret location around 300 yards from the prison's administrative offices, in a series of facilities hidden behind a ridge. The secret site held eight cottages built to feel like hotel rooms rather than prison cells. It was given the nickname Penny Lane,[http://bbs.jinsilou.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1155353 Two Charts That Show Why ESPN Should Be Very Scared],[http://tbcrecruiting.com/Heritagesfac.aspx <strong>nfl jerseys from china</strong>], playing off of another secret Guantanamo Bay facility known as Strawberry Fields both the names of Beatles songs that appeared on a single together. It's unclear exactly what activities occurred at Penny Lane, and what occurred as a result of sending prisoners back overseas.
 +
 +
Though the CIA was reportedly concerned that some prisoners would abandon them and begin targeting the US again,[http://olevel.org/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=35458 ], officials that spoke with the AP said that they knew of no instances where one later killed an American. However,[http://www.connetta.it/lightbox.asp <strong>personalized jerseys</strong>], others who were kept at Guantanamo Bay but were not part of the program did turn back to fighting the US: reportedly around 16 percent of released detainees are confirmed to have done so,[http://www.visionaround.com/events.php <strong>cheap nfl jersey</strong>], and officials suspect without confirmation that another 12 percent did so as well.
 +
 +
All prisoners who joined the secret program were promised money, though the AP says that they had various reasons for agreeing to take part. At least one person only agreed to the plan after the CIA implied that it might harm his children. And while some of the double agents are said to have helped CIA missions, the AP reports that others eventually stopped contacting the agency or ceased to give it any useful information. Though the program is said to have ended in 2006, none of the officials the AP spoke with were authorized to speak about the program yet, and its exact name is still unknown.</html>

== 'ZEN' won't open in 2014 ==
 +
 +
<html>Albany
 +
Officials at the  say a massive renewable energy lab planned for the corner of Fuller Road and Washington Avenue Extension won't be completed until 2015 because the facility is playing a much larger role in the school's expansion plans.
 +
It was originally believed that the 200,000 square-foot facility known as the ZEN building would be finished by the fall of 2014 in time for  to relocate there from its current home in East Greenbush under a 20-year lease announced back in February.
 +
NanoCollege officials acknowledged last week that Tech Valley High's space in the ZEN building wouldn't be ready by the start of next academic year. Instead, for the first year, the high school will use 26,000 square feet of space in a separate building that is under construction now at the NanoCollege campus that will include lab and classroom space.
 +
Last December, the state provided $1 million to the NanoCollege for design costs for ZEN, which stands for , although no timetable was set for the building's construction at the time.
 +
College spokesman  said funding is not an issue for ZEN, but rather the facility's role in the college's expansion plans has been growing.
 +
"The reality is that ZEN has significantly expanded in both scope and tenants," Janack said.
 +
The ZEN building, which will be built just east of the NanoFab X building that sits next to Interstate 90, will be home to the , a federally funded consortium dedicated to solar technology manufacturing breakthroughs. At the same time, the NanoCollege has been setting up several solar manufacturing centers across upstate that will have research operations in Albany,[http://essaetec.com/football-jerseys.html <strong>cheap football jerseys</strong>],[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350246077266&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Sony will shrink movie divisi], which has likely increased the need for tenants and space. Originally, ZEN was expected to cost $85 million, although other figures have pegged the cost at $100 million. It's unclear what the cost of the final design will be,[http://aquastartech.com/sitewithmalware/cheap-jerseys-from-china.html <strong>cheap jerseys from china</strong>], although the NanoCollege typically uses mostly private funding to underwrite its construction costs rather than taxpayer dollars.
 +
Janack said the building that Tech Valley High will occupy next year will be "even more state-of-the-art" than the space in ZEN that it is scheduled to occupy starting in 2015, although he wouldn't elaborate.
 +
"Stay tuned," he said.
 +
Although the plans have not been widely reported, the NanoCollege is seeking to create a new $17.5 million facility at its Albany campus called the  that would appear to fit the bill.

== Obamacare’s online SHOP enrollment delayed by one year ==
 +
 +
<html>Republicans immediately seized on the delay as evidence that the Obama administration is not ready to launch the Affordable Care Act.
 +
 +
“While Americans prepare for the holidays and one day after President Obama gave another speech trying to blame the ObamaCare trainwreck on Republicans, his administration is delaying yet another portion of his signature healthcare law," Republican National Committee chair Reince Preibus said in a statement. "With each passing day, it’s clear how much worse ObamaCare is than a website full of glitches."
 +
 +
The SHOP Exchange has already  as the Obama administration has focused much of its efforts on launching the individual insurance marketplace where Americans can shop for subsidized health insurance coverage.
 +
 +
The new insurance marketplace was meant to give small businesses a simpler and more efficient way to buy insurance coverage for their workers. The online marketplace could stand in for a broker,[http://www.smwxly.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=97088 ],[http://arabianincentive.com/jerseys.html <strong>cheap jerseys china</strong>], allowing the business owner to easily compare the plans they could offer employees on their own.
 +
 +
With this new delay,[http://wsic.uwaterloo.ca/wiki/User:Vfwaqupg2#PS4_Games-_The_Five_You_Need_To_Buy PS4 Games- The Five You Need To Buy], small businesses will likely see little change in the way they purchase health insurance until 2015. They will, however, need to purchase one of the plans sold on the SHOP marketplace,[http://arabianincentive.com/redskins-jersey.html <strong>redskins jersey</strong>], through a broker, if they want to access a health law tax credit available to employers with fewer than 25 employees.
 +
 +
That tax credit first became available in 2010 regardless of where a company purchased coverage. Beginning in 2014, companies will need to buy through the marketplace to continue receiving that financial assistance, worth as much as 50 percent of their workers' premiums. In years past, the tax credit was capped at 35 percent of workers' premiums.
 +
 +
The federal delay effects the 36 states where the federal government is running the health insurance exchange. It does not change the small business options in the 14 states and the District of Columbia that are running their own exchanges.
 +
 +
The White House announced last April a one-year delay to the "consumer choice" function in the SHOP exchange,[http://tbcrecruiting.com/info_subs.aspx <strong>giants jersey</strong>], which would allow each employee to pick their own insurance plan, pushing that functionality back until the 2015 open enrollment season.
 +
 +
That delay was followed with another setback in September when the White House announced that online shopping in the small business exchange would not be available when open enrollment started in October.
 +
 +
Under the new Obama administration proposal, small businesses will now have to "go directly to an agent, broker or to an insurance company with plans certified by the Marketplace," the Q A document states. "The insurer must agree to offer direct enrollment in SHOP coverage and to conduct enrollment according to HHS requirements."
 +
 +
The agent or broker will "help the employer fill out a paper application for SHOP eligibility and send it in to the SHOP Marketplace."</html>

In a&nbsp; issued yesterday,[http://www.visionaround.com/events.php <strong>cheap nfl jersey</strong>], the Emirates Center for Human Rights stated that Cassim was arrested in April of this year for his role in the video,[http://bangalorewebhosting.com/SEO-services/nfl-jersey-authentic.html <strong>nfl jersey discount</strong>], which he uploaded to YouTube in October, 2012. According to the group, Cassim is being held at a maximum-security prison in Abu Dhabi along with other participants in the video's creation. The video begins with a disclaimer that reads "The following events are fictional [and] no offense was intended to the people of Satwa and UAE." But according to officials, the video is far from a lighthearted satire: they say that it violates Article 28 of a rigid cybercrime decree introduced in 2012 one month after Cassim posted the video.

Cassim, who relocated from Minnesota to Dubai for work after graduating college in 2006, has reportedly been denied bail on three separate occasions and doesn't yet have a trial date. At CES in Las Vegas, Toshiba became the latest to do so,[http://www.e-hp.info/america/bbs/america.cgi?res=1181 The Official Motorola Blog- M], announcing a $279.99, 13.3-inch Chromebook that fills a couple of gaps for Chrome OS. It's the first 13-inch Chromebook,[http://www.jerseys-ns.org/ <strong>New York Giants Jersey</strong>], filling a void Toshiba hopes is the mainstream favorite. It's also among the best-looking Chromebooks yet, a dimpled silver notebook with Toshiba's recognizable design that's considerably better-looking and more premium than a device like .
 +
 +
Of course, for all its design flair, it's still a $279.99 computer. The Toshiba Chromebook comes with a 1366 x 768 display that looks passable but not great,[http://www.jerseys-ns.org/ <strong>white Eddie Lacy Jerseys</strong>], and at 3.3 pounds and 0.8 inches thick it's not particularly svelte. It's powered by a Haswell-based Intel Celeron processor, which Toshiba says provides the device with nine hours of battery life, plus 2GB of RAM and a 16GB hard drive.
 +
 +
It's hard for a Chromebook to stand out they all run the same operating system, typically the same way,[http://typemoon.me/wiki/index.php?title=%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7:Kwvbrjcp2#Chargers_Lose_Linebacker_Jarret_Johnson_Indefinitely_With_Le Chargers Lose Linebacker Jarret Johnson Indefinitely With Le], usually with similar hardware. But with nice design and a more common screen size, Toshiba may have something a bit more friendly to the average consumer. And a $279.99 price tag is pretty friendly, too.</html>

== Editorial- Hospitals fail a baby test ==
 +
 +
<html>THE ISSUE:
 +
More than a third of newborn blood samples in the Capital Region aren't arriving at the state lab within two days.
 +
THE STAKES:
 +
These tests are meant to be performed quickly to save lives and health costs.
 +
New York began screening newborns in 1965 for life-threatening diseases and other conditions. "With the right tests, that single drop of blood reveals whether a baby has a disorder that, left undetected, could devastate a family's life," state Health Commissioner Dr.  said earlier this year.
 +
If detected, many conditions can be treated. What we learned last week, however, is that the delay in that detection is too often unconscionable.
 +
The , through extraordinary investigative journalism that it then shared with news outlets across the country, including the ,[http://www.disneylandfan.net/cgi-bin/bbs_p/faq/yybbs.cgi Conservative Party of NY Stat], found that newborn blood samples routinely arrive later than the maximum three-day federal guideline.
 +
And as the Times Union's  reported after reviewing the data, not a single  met New York's more stringent two-day delivery deadline more than 70 percent of the time last year.
 +
Considering the state 's  laboratories are in Albany, that delay is mystifying. You could easily walk the samples to the lab from the region's two largest hospitals.
 +
Local doctors and hospital representatives insist the delays in test results haven't caused harm to any child. If that's true,[http://www.jerseys-ns.org/ <strong>Seattle Seahawks Fan #12 Jersey</strong>], it obviously has more to do with luck than anything else,[http://www.jerseys-ns.org/ <strong>Seattle Seahawks Jersey</strong>], because timing can be crucial in such cases.
 +
"About one in every 800 babies is born with a potentially severe or deadly condition that can be treated and managed if the child is properly tested," according to the Journal Sentinel. "These babies often appear healthy at birth but can become extremely sick within days. The entire premise of newborn screening is to detect disorders quickly so babies can be treated early, averting death and preventing or limiting brain damage,[http://www.jerseys-ns.org/ <strong>Green Bay Packers #27 Jerseys</strong>], disability and a lifetime of costly medical care."
 +
Responding to the Times Union story, state health officials say they will begin to provide hospitals with results showing exact turnaround numbers rather than averages. But New York needs to do better. The solution may simply be added staffing at the Wadsworth Center labs, which perform 46 tests on a baby's blood.
 +
As Gov.  and the state Legislature ready the next budget, they should look to Iowa. In 2005, when that state deemed its newborn blood-testing turnaround unacceptable,[http://www.eadsys.net/wiki/index.php/Usu%C3%A1rio:Akjijmhs4#Scientists_make_cheese_from_human_toe_jam Scientists make cheese from human toe jam], the cost per test increased by $17, to $77, allowing its lab to stay open overnight and on weekends. The lab also added a courier service.
 +
The Wadsworth Center performs more than 11 million screens annually for the 250,000 babies born in New York. Its budget sits at $11.9 million. In the fitful baby that is the state budget, adding enough funding to ensure the benefits of diagnosing a child early would be roughly equal to a heel prick on a newborn.</html>

The 10 best adapted screenplays ever-

Great Britain s The Guardian, as list happy a media organization as any, has just released what they think are the top ten films adapted from books and short stories. Let s get right to it:

One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest from the novel by Ken Kesey The Conformist based on the novel by Alberto Moravia Brokeback Mountain from the short story by E. Annie Proulx Adaptation from the non-fiction book The Orchid Thief by Susan Orlean Ivans Xtc. from the novella? The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy We Need to Talk About Kevin based on the novel by Lionel Shriver Lolita?(1962 version) based on the novel by Vladimir Nabokov The Long Goodbye based on the novel by Raymond Chandler The Fallen Idol based on the short story The Basement Room by Graham Greene Planet of the Apes?(1968 version) based on the novel by Pierre Boule

How do those choices grab you? How many have you seen? Six of these films were nominated for best adapted screenplay honors at the Oscars, with One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest and Brokeback Mountain claiming the prize. But who among you has seen 2000 s Ivans Xtc.,The Simpsons Will Be Availabl The Simpsons Will Be Availabl <a name="http://www.axs-smf.net/nyanko/tomo/t^_^o^0^m-o-bbs/ptnbbs.cgi">The Simpsons Will Be Availabl</a> <a href="http://www.axs-smf.net/nyanko/tomo/t^_^o^0^m-o-bbs/ptnbbs.cgi" rel="bookmark">The Simpsons Will Be Availabl</ a> <a href="http://www.axs-smf.net/nyanko/tomo/t^_^o^0^m-o-bbs/ptnbbs.cgi">The Simpsons Will Be Availabl</a>, starring Danny Huston and Peter Weller? And even if you saw Bernardo Bertolucci s acclaimed The Conformist or Robert Altman s once maligned reworking of the traditional private eye tropes in The Long Goodbye, both from the early 70s, did you also watch 1948 classic thriller The Fallen Idol?

We can all probably start furiously firing off titles we believe belong here. And for various reasons. If we re talking about a movie that elevates the story far above the source material, look no further than one of the greatest movies of all time, The Godfather; Mario Puzo s novel is purposely pulpy. To a lesser extent, The Graduate took a fine book by Charles Webb into a whole other plane.

And where does Horton Foote s take on Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird fall? Great book, great movie. Or IMDb s all-time best, The Shawshank Redemption, based on a short story by Stephen King? Or how about I just keep rattling off titles? The Searchers. Psycho. Sideways. Being There. Jaws. The Silence of the Lambs. L.A. Confidential. All the President s Men. The Maltese Falcon. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. GoodFellas. Sweet Smell of Success. The Third Man. Double Indemnity. The Wizard of Oz.

Let us know what screenplay you think perfectly translated the original author s intent, or maybe subverted it in a new and exciting way? Tell us in the comments. <html>In a ruling delivered today, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has given Apple another chance at halting sales of Samsung smartphones that infringe on its patents. The court has vacated District Court Judge Lucy Koh's  against 26 Samsung products found by a jury to infringe in the . That means Cupertino's lawyers will have another chance at permanently ending sales of those devices in the long-running legal showdown.

The court has sent the issue back to Judge Koh with respect to Apple's technical utility patents,<a name="http://fried-epstein.com/detroit-lions-jerseys.html">detroit lions jerseys</a>, where she will have to apply a new standard. Rather than showing that the patented features were the "sole" reason for driving sales of the products a requirement the court found to be too strict Apple will only have to show "some connection between the patented feature and demand for Samsung's products." The court went on to hold that an injunction might be warranted if the evidence shows "that the inclusion of a patented feature makes a product significantly more desirable," or that "the absence of a patented feature would make a product significantly less desirable." Now we'll have to see what "significantly" means. Not the primary reason, cheap packers jerseys, not a trivial reason, but something in between?

Apple need only show "some" connection between infringement and product demand

In denying the injunctions, Judge Koh had ruled that Apple was required to demonstrate that the patented features were the exclusive driver of sales. The appeals court landed on the middle ground. Koh's denial of a permanent injunction against Samsung for infringing Apple's design patents was upheld.

While the products at issue in this case are largely obsolete, the importance of today's ruling is really in the new standard set by the court. This will become a major focal point in Apple's attempts to seek product bans in between the companies set to begin next spring. Settlement, anyone?

Dunnellon football coach Frank Beasley resigns after 9 years

<html>Longtime Dunnellon football coach Frank Beasley resigned Friday after nine seasons on the job, while West Port also announced it was looking for a new head coach. Athletic director Robbie Lindeman could not be reached by phone but did respond to a text message from the Star-Banner.

We thank Russell Holley for his work with our football program, Lindeman said. We are going in a different direction.

Holley accepted the job in July after Ryan Hearn left for another coaching position at Admiral Farragut in St. Petersburg. West Port went 1-9 this season. Meanwhile, Beasley said that it felt like the right time for a change. In Beasley's nine years at Dunnellon, the Tigers never suffered a losing season. Beasley, 37,denver broncos jerseys,Drone strikes reveal a lost moral compass Drone strikes reveal a lost moral compass <a name="http://www.xiyingjia.com/plus/view.php?aid=380458">Drone strikes reveal a lost moral compass</a> [http://www.xiyingjia.com/plus/view.php?aid=380458 Drone strikes reveal a lost moral compass</ a> <a href="http://www.xiyingjia.com/plus/view.php?aid=380458">Drone strikes reveal a lost moral compass], leaves with a 59-33 record that includes two district championships in 2009 and 2010. His 59 wins rank him second all-time at Dunnellon behind Richard Kennedy's 81 from 1977-85.

I have had a great nine years at Dunnellon,<a name="http://arabianincentive.com/redskins-jersey.html">redskins jersey</a>, said Beasley, whose Tigers went 6-4 this season. I am not sure what my future holds at this point. The program has a solid foundation. I have been fortunate to work with outstanding administrators, coaches and most importantly players.

Beasley, who teaches history at Dunnellon, said he plans to stay on in that role through at least the end of the school year.

Frank has put so much time and effort into the program here, Dunnellon Principal Ken McAteer said. He literally worked seven days a week all year. It was a pretty hectic pace for nine years.

The job consisted of more than just coaching on Friday nights every fall. Between taking the players to spring and summer camps and helping kids find college homes,MedScientists Project MedScientists Project <a name="http://np-unpretei.com/bbs/bbs.cgi">MedScientists Project</a> [http://np-unpretei.com/bbs/bbs.cgi MedScientists Project</ a> <a href="http://np-unpretei.com/bbs/bbs.cgi">MedScientists Project], Beasley the ultimate CEO had his hands in every aspect of the program.

I'm obviously proud of all the student athletes that we helped move on to the next level, said Beasley, who plans on helping this year's crop of seniors find colleges and has already gotten the ball rolling on college plans for the juniors.

Beasley was the face of Dunnellon athletics, McAteer said, and will be hard to replace.

It's going to be huge shoes to fill, said McAteer, who will open up the search on a statewide level. We want to continue the good work he has done. (The new coach) is going to have to be somebody who understands the role football has in a small town like Dunnellon and has a sense of community.
Frank had that and never forgot that.

Beasley said McAteer will find the best man for the job and continue to build upon the foundation he set.

Our program is in good hands with Mr. McAteer, Beasley said. He is an outstanding leader and there's no doubt that he will do everything in his power to hire the best head football coach for our kids and community.

Prior to his time at Dunnellon, Beasley served as an assistant and interim head coach at Lake City Columbia. Holley,Cheap NFL Jerseys, who was an assistant for years in South Carolina, never served as head coach until this fall. He said he will continue to teach at West Port.

Although I am saddened by West Port's decision to move in a different direction as they seek a new head coach, I have been honored to have had the opportunity to work with such a fine group of young athletes and wish them and the Wolf Pack coaching staff nothing but success in the future, Holley said in a text message to the Star-Banner.

Double the oats for a pleasing holiday cookie

<html>These double-the-oats oatmeal cookies are so jammed with oats making them tender and wonderfully chewy and rich that I've been known to take them on vacation just so I can enjoy a familiar breakfast. Because if you could enjoy your morning bowl of oatmeal in the form of a cookie, why not? The inspiration for this cookie actually began with my dislike of raisins. Most oatmeal cookies are packed with raisins, which usually turns me off. So I wanted to create my own take on this classic cookie. The secret? She used vegetable oil instead of butter. At first, I thought this was odd, but then I realized that a lot of my favorite cakes were made with oil, not butter. As soon as I got home,[3], I tested my recipe with oil and I could not believe the difference. My cookies had gone from good to great and I started baking them weekly. Because I like to eat these cookies for breakfast with a cup of coffee, nfl panthers jerseys, I bake them and keep them in the freezer so I have them on hand most of the time. I generally bake the cookies with dried cherries and pecans, which makes me equate them with eating a bowl of granola. But during the holidays, I love making them with dark chocolate chips and walnuts. The addition of the rich chocolate makes them more decadent and takes them from a breakfast cookie to a special occasion cookie.

DOUBLE-THE-OATS OATMEAL COOKIES Feel free to substitute 1 1/2 cups of dark chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped walnuts for the dried cherries and pecans. Either version is delicious and perfect for a holiday or any day treat. Start to finish: 30 minutes Makes 3 dozen cookies 2 eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 cup packed dark brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (not quick-cooking), divided 1 1/3 cups dried cherries 1 generous cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped Heat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with kitchen parchment. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla until frothy. Add both sugars and the oil. Mix until well blended and creamy in appearance. In a medium bowl, redskins jersey, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom and salt. Add to sugar and egg mixture and mix until completely combined. Mix in 2 cups of the oats, then the cherries and pecans. Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of oats and mix well. The batter will be stiff. Working in batches, use a teaspoon to drop cookie dough on the prepared cookie, leaving about 2 inches between cookies. Bake for 14 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and still soft at the center. Hump Day Football Practice Notes

- Jojo Kemp s dive to the end zone Saturday was one of the few highlights from the Vanderbilt game. It s the second time this year Jojo has turned Superman dives into Kodak moments. For Jojo it s no big deal, just another part of his game, I m a player man, it just happens. If it s not a weak-shoulder cut and I can t go around them, I m going to try to go over them. It s just my player instincts.

- Big players make big plays in big games. One of the biggest problems for the UK offense this year has been making big plays in big situations. They ve improved from last year; the 10 plays over 40 yards this season match the totals from the previous two seasons. Neal Brown measures explosive plays a little differently,Cheap NFL Jerseys, placing every screen/run of 12-yards or more and every pass of 18-yards+ in the category of explosive. What does Stoops have to say about this? Well, Id love to have him another year So well petition that. One family's farewell to JFK

<html>They've shot the president!

I looked up to see my secretary standing breathless in my office doorway. As head of a community college in New York City, I knew lots of college presidents and almost asked which one had been shot, but then my public relations director came in, tears in her eyes, and blurted, Kennedy is dead!

By now, a number of colleagues had gathered in the office. As we debated what actions to take, my public relations director brought us to our senses. Hey guys, she said. The president of the United States was just assassinated. It is not business as usual.

Sunday evening, we were watching the endless line of people entering the Capitol to pay their final respects as JFK lay in state in the Rotunda, when one of the boys said, Why don't we go down to Washington for tomorrow's funeral? The other children took up the idea.

Estelle looked at me, and we came to an unspoken agreement. OK, she announced. Get washed up and put on clean clothes. Dad and I will put some food together. And don't forget to go to the toilet.

We had done a lot of traveling with our kids before this, but never were they as cooperative and well behaved as on this journey. We drove for five hours, arriving in the nation's capital close to 3 a.m.

Although we had been watching the crowds gather in Washington on TV, we were not prepared for what we encountered. Traffic was heavy,LEDWHOLESALERS 2516 Pro-,Cheap NFL Jerseys, but very orderly. We were fortunate to find a parking lot -- not too far from the end of the line winding its way to the Capitol steps, at least two miles away.

Line is perhaps not an accurate description. We weren't in single file but in family clusters, four and five abreast, as we moved forward very, very slowly. I knew there could be 50,000 or more people ahead of us, and I wondered if we would reach the Capitol before the funeral began.

The city teemed with humanity, yet everything seemed peaceful and calm. I felt a sense of serenity that I had never experienced before, or since, in any American city. We walked silently for the most part. Occasionally, someone would begin to sing softly, a hymn or other inspirational song -- I remember The Battle Hymn of the Republic at one time -- and soon dozens of people would join in. There was an eerie spiritual atmosphere as the darkness of night gave way to dawn.

As we were about to turn toward the Capitol entrance, the signal came to halt the line, atlanta falcons jersey, and the doors were closed.

We were quite disappointed, but then realized we were right where the funeral procession would descend the Capitol steps. We took our place at the front of the enormous crowd, near one of the hastily constructed platforms on which big, ungainly television cameras had been set up.

We fell silent as the coffin was carried down the steps and placed on the same caisson that bore Lincoln's coffin a century earlier. We watched the Kennedy family come out of the Capitol. Bobby and Jackie Kennedy,Tea party Rep. Trey Radel busted for cocaine in D.C., with her children at her side, stood stoically at the bottom of the steps. Most heart-rending was the moment when the caisson carrying the flag-draped coffin started away to the steady cadence of military drums. Following, very slowly, was a riderless jet-black horse, nfl panthers jerseys, a pair of boots suspended in the stirrups of the empty saddle. The boots faced backward, symbolizing that the rider was deceased.

As Jackie, her children and the rest of the Kennedy clan lined up behind the caisson, I felt that we were truly a part of their family, and I felt more connected to my own family and to my fellow citizens than ever before.

No other event caused me so great a concern for the future of our country -- until 38 years later as we sat glued to the television watching the towers of the World Trade Center collapse.

UCLA OL Goines, WRs Mazzone, Andrews Need Surgery CB

<html>LOS ANGELES (AP)?― UCLA left tackle Simon Goines had surgery Sunday on a broken bone in his right leg, sidelining another key player for the No. 22 Bruins regular-season finale against Southern California.

Receivers Gray Mazzone and Darren Andrews also are out for the season after they were injured in the Bruins 38-33 loss to Arizona State on Saturday, ending their chances of winning the Pac-12 South and dropping UCLA eight spots in the Top 25.

Goines is the latest major injury loss for the Bruins (8-3, 5-3 Pac-12), who likely will face their crosstown rivals at the Coliseum with three freshman starters on their offensive line.

Goines started five of the Bruins first six games at left tackle and another at right tackle, but he missed UCLA s next four games with a right knee injury.

The sophomore returned to the starting lineup against the Sun Devils, but had to be helped off the field in the second quarter with what turned out to be a broken fibula.

Goines tweeted a photo of his own bandaged leg from his hospital bed Sunday with the caption: Just a minor setback for a major comeback. UCLA coach Jim Mora said Goines injury is similar to the one that ended the regular season for Torian White, the Bruins other starting tackle to open the season, in early October.

The injuries likely mean freshmen Alex Redmond, cheap football jerseys,Kanye (And Virgil & Kim K.) UCLA s young offensive line looked painfully overmatched at times against Arizona State s Will Sutton and his veteran teammates. Quarterback Brett Hundley was sacked nine times. USC s defensive front is similarly tough,Nelsonville Earthquake- 3.5 Magnitude Quake Hits Ohio Town [, with Leonard Williams and George Uko leading a unit that has grown increasingly dominant in recent weeks.

The positive is they re getting great experience that s going to help us down the road tremendously, Mora said of his young linemen.

Mazzone, a senior transfer from East Carolina and the son of offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, apparently was injured on the final drive of the Bruins loss to Arizona State. He has 12 catches for 173 yards this season.

Andrews has a lateral meniscus tear, cheap jerseys from china, Mora said. The speedy freshman made four receptions and returned two punts for UCLA this season.

Mora got a bit of good news in another dour injury report when he learned receiver Devin Fuller is likely to play against the Trojans. Fuller was the Bruins leading receiver with 40 catches for 453 yards before sitting out with a strained hamstring against Arizona State.

I’ve seen it all through the yellow windows of the eve

<html>How often have I been in a rush to get home when I’ve found myself stuck behind a line of cars (or sometimes, though it hardly matters, I am the head of the line) waiting on the road for the train to pass through! There’s always that warning bell ringing and the flashing red light and then the big wooden arms coming down and the inevitable “Damn!” that you think as the next five or even ten minutes are given up to waiting for a train to go by.

And is it really such a terrible thing to be stopped in your car, watching train cars rumble past in their hypnotic way? ReFo- Panthers @ Dolphins – Week 12 – Panthers w

First were the shitty throws to Wallace. He was open all day long on the deep route and Tanny underthrows him three times, once at least was good enough for him to come back catch it and still break free for the TD, once where he gets the completion but would have been a TD had he not had to slow down and once where,After Rep. Radel's cocaine bust, a Connie Mack comeback-, given he has no skills for fighting for the ball, they missed another TD. I screamed .reach back and throw the fucking ball Tanny! in a very hoarse, strained voice. When he finally threw it and over threw him, my Wife asked, what your not going to scream about that one. To this i said, no because thats a learning step.

Second one was the pick up the flag BS when Rishad got rocked in the end zone. Now i know you have to maintain control over the ball for a few seconds after hitting it but that was pretty friggin close to a catch anyways and Rishad really steeped up on that play,Knicks' home woes continue, cheap jerseys from china, he knew he was going to get rocked. Thats second in two games where Keuchley has benefited from them picking up a flag and it has cost the other team a win. Both times he was in the wrong. I guess he is the new glory boy on defense, but that cost us the game. If that play stands we score and the distance between winning and losing becomes too much for them to over come.

The 4th and 12 they let them pick up that also cost us the game. Grimes and Clemons pretty much obstructed each other and neither of them had the coverage on him they should have. I know Grime can run with Smith and he should have been right on his back, Clemons needed to be closer and in position to move infront, oakland raiders jerseys, both whiffed and winded only taking out each other. Very disappointing. Both are playing really well so im not going to pin all the blame on them but that was when i knew it was over. I held on to a little hope that they would only get a FG but my gut knew this was probably over.

The drop by Wallace that would have been a TD OMG i screamed in despair because it was right there, the Win, the Kill, the Tanny/Wallace connection, we all have been waiting to gel Right there!

Last part I yelled at was Tanny practically running the game out for them. I dont know what the fuck he was thinking but he could have had another play or two had he fucking thrown that ball out of play instead of the shit he did, broncos jerseys 2013.</html>

CIA reportedly turned Guantanamo Bay detainees into double a

<html>The CIA sent some Guantanamo Bay detainees back home as double agents and used their information to help find and kill terrorists, . Anonymous US officials tell the AP that prisoners were offered millions of dollars, freedom, and safety for their families in exchange for help. Though only a small number of prisoners are said to have been part of the program, the AP reports that they collectively helped the CIA find and kill many top members of al-Qaeda. The program reportedly began after 9/11 and was ended in 2006.

The program was run out of a facility called 'Penny Lane'

According to the AP, some aspects of the program were carried out from a secret location around 300 yards from the prison's administrative offices, in a series of facilities hidden behind a ridge. The secret site held eight cottages built to feel like hotel rooms rather than prison cells. It was given the nickname Penny Lane,Two Charts That Show Why ESPN Should Be Very Scared, nfl jerseys from china, playing off of another secret Guantanamo Bay facility known as Strawberry Fields both the names of Beatles songs that appeared on a single together. It's unclear exactly what activities occurred at Penny Lane, and what occurred as a result of sending prisoners back overseas.

Though the CIA was reportedly concerned that some prisoners would abandon them and begin targeting the US again,[5], officials that spoke with the AP said that they knew of no instances where one later killed an American. However, personalized jerseys, others who were kept at Guantanamo Bay but were not part of the program did turn back to fighting the US: reportedly around 16 percent of released detainees are confirmed to have done so,cheap nfl jersey, and officials suspect without confirmation that another 12 percent did so as well.

'ZEN' won't open in 2014

<html>Albany Officials at the say a massive renewable energy lab planned for the corner of Fuller Road and Washington Avenue Extension won't be completed until 2015 because the facility is playing a much larger role in the school's expansion plans. It was originally believed that the 200,000 square-foot facility known as the ZEN building would be finished by the fall of 2014 in time for to relocate there from its current home in East Greenbush under a 20-year lease announced back in February. Last December, the state provided $1 million to the NanoCollege for design costs for ZEN, which stands for , although no timetable was set for the building's construction at the time. College spokesman said funding is not an issue for ZEN, but rather the facility's role in the college's expansion plans has been growing. "The reality is that ZEN has significantly expanded in both scope and tenants," Janack said. The ZEN building, which will be built just east of the NanoFab X building that sits next to Interstate 90, will be home to the , a federally funded consortium dedicated to solar technology manufacturing breakthroughs. At the same time, the NanoCollege has been setting up several solar manufacturing centers across upstate that will have research operations in Albany, cheap football jerseys,Sony will shrink movie divisi, which has likely increased the need for tenants and space. Originally, ZEN was expected to cost $85 million, although other figures have pegged the cost at $100 million. It's unclear what the cost of the final design will be,cheap jerseys from china, although the NanoCollege typically uses mostly private funding to underwrite its construction costs rather than taxpayer dollars. Janack said the building that Tech Valley High will occupy next year will be "even more state-of-the-art" than the space in ZEN that it is scheduled to occupy starting in 2015, although he wouldn't elaborate. "Stay tuned," he said. Although the plans have not been widely reported, the NanoCollege is seeking to create a new $17.5 million facility at its Albany campus called the that would appear to fit the bill. The is seeking $3.5 million from the state to help fund that new facility,Cheap Jerseys Online,‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Turns Twenty- Child A, called the for short, which will be used as a workforce development lab for small and medium-size high-tech companies using the latest information technology and cloud computing advances. Obamacare’s online SHOP enrollment delayed by one year

<html>Republicans immediately seized on the delay as evidence that the Obama administration is not ready to launch the Affordable Care Act.

The SHOP Exchange has already as the Obama administration has focused much of its efforts on launching the individual insurance marketplace where Americans can shop for subsidized health insurance coverage.

The new insurance marketplace was meant to give small businesses a simpler and more efficient way to buy insurance coverage for their workers. The online marketplace could stand in for a broker,[8],cheap jerseys china, allowing the business owner to easily compare the plans they could offer employees on their own.

With this new delay,PS4 Games- The Five You Need To Buy, small businesses will likely see little change in the way they purchase health insurance until 2015. They will, however, need to purchase one of the plans sold on the SHOP marketplace, redskins jersey, through a broker, if they want to access a health law tax credit available to employers with fewer than 25 employees.

The federal delay effects the 36 states where the federal government is running the health insurance exchange. It does not change the small business options in the 14 states and the District of Columbia that are running their own exchanges.

The White House announced last April a one-year delay to the "consumer choice" function in the SHOP exchange, giants jersey, which would allow each employee to pick their own insurance plan, pushing that functionality back until the 2015 open enrollment season.

That delay was followed with another setback in September when the White House announced that online shopping in the small business exchange would not be available when open enrollment started in October.

The agent or broker will "help the employer fill out a paper application for SHOP eligibility and send it in to the SHOP Marketplace."</html>

US expat reportedly arrested in United Arab Emirates for sat

<html>An American man has been arrested and repeatedly denied bail in the United Arab Emirates, after he posted a  about life for young residents of Dubai. The detention of Shezanne Cassim, 29, is reportedly the first time that a foreigner has been arrested under the UAE's tough new cybercrime laws.

In a  issued yesterday, cheap nfl jersey, the Emirates Center for Human Rights stated that Cassim was arrested in April of this year for his role in the video, nfl jersey discount, which he uploaded to YouTube in October, 2012. According to the group, Cassim is being held at a maximum-security prison in Abu Dhabi along with other participants in the video's creation. Cassim faces prison time and upwards of $250,000 in fines, the group said, and is being accused of using the Internet to publish "caricatures" that are "liable to endanger state security and its higher interests or infringe on public order."

"No offense was intended to the people of Satwa and UAE."

The video in question, shown above in a screenshot and in full,Necole Bitchie.com- Chicks On The Scene- Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Jennifer Huds, is a 19-minute mock documentary shot in Dubai. It profiles a group of students attending a fictional "Satwa Combat School, denver broncos jerseys,Wikimedia Foundation sends ce," and is largely a spoof on the idea that young UAE residents pose as "tough" but are actually mild in their demeanor.

Until this week, his family members living in the US had elected to protect his identity as they worked towards his release.</html>

Editorial- Hospitals fail a baby test

<html>THE ISSUE: More than a third of newborn blood samples in the Capital Region aren't arriving at the state lab within two days. THE STAKES: These tests are meant to be performed quickly to save lives and health costs.

New York began screening newborns in 1965 for life-threatening diseases and other conditions. "With the right tests, that single drop of blood reveals whether a baby has a disorder that, left undetected, could devastate a family's life," state Health Commissioner Dr. said earlier this year.

If detected, many conditions can be treated. What we learned last week, however, is that the delay in that detection is too often unconscionable. The , through extraordinary investigative journalism that it then shared with news outlets across the country, including the ,Conservative Party of NY Stat, found that newborn blood samples routinely arrive later than the maximum three-day federal guideline. And as the Times Union's reported after reviewing the data, not a single met New York's more stringent two-day delivery deadline more than 70 percent of the time last year. Considering the state 's laboratories are in Albany, that delay is mystifying. You could easily walk the samples to the lab from the region's two largest hospitals. Local doctors and hospital representatives insist the delays in test results haven't caused harm to any child. If that's true,Seattle Seahawks Fan #12 Jersey, it obviously has more to do with luck than anything else,Seattle Seahawks Jersey, because timing can be crucial in such cases. "About one in every 800 babies is born with a potentially severe or deadly condition that can be treated and managed if the child is properly tested," according to the Journal Sentinel. "These babies often appear healthy at birth but can become extremely sick within days. The entire premise of newborn screening is to detect disorders quickly so babies can be treated early, averting death and preventing or limiting brain damage,Green Bay Packers #27 Jerseys, disability and a lifetime of costly medical care." Responding to the Times Union story, state health officials say they will begin to provide hospitals with results showing exact turnaround numbers rather than averages. But New York needs to do better. The solution may simply be added staffing at the Wadsworth Center labs, which perform 46 tests on a baby's blood. As Gov. and the state Legislature ready the next budget, they should look to Iowa. In 2005, when that state deemed its newborn blood-testing turnaround unacceptable,Scientists make cheese from human toe jam, the cost per test increased by $17, to $77, allowing its lab to stay open overnight and on weekends. The lab also added a courier service.
