== Doctor Who- 10 More Memorable Episodes (And The Lessons They ==

<html>This is a sequel to . As promised, here are my next ten memorable episodes all from the Matt Smith/Amy/Rory time span and the lessons they taught me. As I ve said before, Russell T. Davies created stories that left me with questions and the Steven Moffat incarnation delivered answers, until recently.

For this last season with Clara, he has gone timey-wimey warp speed, a step too far for me. I enjoyed a couple of Clara episodes, but, I have to confess, even after watching all the episodes several times, I remain mildly confused and somewhat annoyed. Maybe after the big reveal for the 50th special, I ll be more enamored of Clara and appreciative of the unfolding, currently obscure, story-line.

10. The Beast Below
 +
 +
 +
This is Amy s first trip with the Doctor. After 14 years of waiting, in a nightie, she runs away, the night before her wedding, with the lonely mad man in a box. Earth is no longer habitable; humans are searching the stars for a new home within a star-scraping skyline of a spaceship called STARSHIP UK. The Doctor and Amy cannot resist going to the aid of a crying school girl. They encounter a ship whose engines make no noise, scary masked creatures,[http://metrorailindia.com/nba-jerseys.html <strong>cheap nba basketball jerseys</strong>], and a gun-toting Queen Liz. She wanders incognito with a voluminous red cloak,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], white mask, and big boots,[http://haynxx.com/Review.asp?NewsID=190 <span style="font-weight: bold">BB&T Focuses on Expenses as Revenue Declines</span>], to investigate her corrupt government. People are coerced into forgetting what s really going on. It is fascinating how it all unfolds; I never saw the ending coming.
 +
 +
To cut to the chase, we find out that a space whale carries the ship on its back and is being tortured to go faster. Once the secret is revealed, a decision has to be made. The Queen is appalled but doesn t want to kill her people; she prefers to keep the status quo and forget a bit longer. The Doctor is ready to, in effect, lobotomize the whale, so it can keep going but not feel pain. Amy risks the lives of everyone on board, going against the will of the Queen and the Doctor, and creates a win-win for all; her intuition told her that the kind whale volunteered to save the people of Britain except Scotland, whose people took off on their own ship because it couldn t stand to hear children crying. Just like the Doctor, the last of his kind, was drawn to save Amelia.
 +
 +
The Lesson: Listen to your heart and trust your instincts, no matter what anyone The Queen or Doctor Who on down- says. You may not save a space whale but you could save yourself a lot of grief!</html>

<html>Talib is the most important Patriots defender this year. And honestly as of now I feel like he should be the DPOY. == J.J. Henry Leads by 1 After Course Record 60 ==
 +
 +
<html>What it means: Henry's 11-under 60 broke the existing course record, and the TCU alum now holds a slim lead as he looks for his third-career PGA Tour victory. He'll need to keep his foot on the gas,[http://richmond.funbbs.me/viewthread.php?tid=121193&extra= <span style="font-weight: bold">Preliminary talks underway for future LSU</span>], though, as low scores are expected throughout the weekend amid ideal conditions at TPC Summerlin.
 +
 +
Round of the day: Beginning on the back nine, Henry went out in 4-under 32 and added three straight birdies on Nos. 4-6. He closed his opening round with a flurry, notching his ninth birdie of the round on the par-3 eighth before holing a 50-foot&nbsp;putt from off the fringe at the ninth for a closing eagle and new course record.
 +
 +
Best of the rest: Henry's round of 60 meant that Romero's 61 went somewhat under the radar, though it was no less impressive. The Argentine made his move during the middle of his round, playing the 11-hole stretch from Nos. 6-16 in 10 under par. It all added up to a solid start for Romero,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], who is making his first PGA Tour start since missing the cut at  in August.
 +
 +
Biggest disappointment: While many players went low Thursday at TPC Summerlin,[http://fra.animaldata.info/index.php/Utilisateur:Zdzcjilc5#NBA_Jams-_Dominique_Wilkins_.2B_Reebok.27s_Call_To_.22Pu <span style="font-weight: bold">NBA Jams- Dominique Wilkins + Reebok's Call To "Pu</span>], there were a handful of outliers. One notable that surprisingly struggled was , who carded a 3-over 74 just two weeks removed from his impressive performance at the . The Zimbabwean stumbled to six bogeys in his opening round, and as a result will have significant work to do Friday in order to survive past the 36-hole cut.
 +
 +
Main storyline heading into Friday: The focus will be on Henry as he looks to back up his career-low round, but plenty of players remain within striking distance after one round. Included among the chase group is Byrd, who won this event in a playoff in 2011, and Simpson, one of the top-ranked players in this week's field who is still in search of his first victory since the 2012 U.S. Open.
 +
 +
Shot of the day: Two shots left Henry just short of the par-5 ninth green, a point from which he looked to get up and down to tie the existing course record. Instead, the Texan rolled in a putt off the fringe from more than 50 feet,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], finishing off his record round and breaking his personal PGA Tour record for low score.
 +
 +
Quote of the day: "It was nice to make that putt on my last hole for a little eagle to make lunch taste that much better." - Henry,[http://metrorailindia.com/nba-jerseys.html <strong>nba jerseys</strong>], whose previous low score on Tour was a 61 during the 2006 .</html>

== A Time to Kill- Theater Review ==
 +
 +
<html>NEW YORK The audience becomes the jury in A Time to Kill, Rupert Holmes by-the-numbers stage adaptation of John Grisham s page-turning 1989 debut novel. But unlike the workings of a real jury, there s no room for ambiguity, moral complexity or startling insight in this formulaic courtroom drama about institutionalized racism in the Deep South, in which every liberal-pandering response has been hardwired into the dated material. Sturdy ensemble acting and Grisham s compelling storytelling make this go down easily, but the production provides little persuasive evidence that the thriller needed to become a play.
 +
our editor recommendsJohn Grisham's 'A Time to Kill' Sets Key Broadway CastThe Winslow Boy: Theater ReviewThe Glass Menagerie: Theater ReviewBig Fish: Theater ReviewA Night With Janis Joplin: Theater ReviewRomeo and Juliet: Theater Review
 +
Perhaps the main case for this page-to-stage venture just like the many upbeat musicals molded out of brand-name movies that populate Broadway is that it s pure comfort food. This is the theatrical equivalent of summer beach reading or the almost obsolete low-concept popcorn movie, which means it s not without a certain appeal.
 +
 +
 +
 +
The producers appear to be counting on most of their audience to have seen the popular 1996 Joel Schumacher film version, given that in the central role of resourceful young defense attorney Jake Brigance,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], they cast Sebastian Arcelus (House of Cards), who bears a notable resemblance to his screen counterpart Matthew McConaughey. It can also be no accident that the Broadway opening coincides with Doubleday s Oct. 22 publication of Grisham s Sycamore Row, a sequel to A Time to Kill that sends Brigance back to the same courtroom for another incendiary race-related case.
 +
 +
While the story is set in the early 80s, Grisham was being less than subtle about the lingering reach of a recent past of segregation, KKK rallies and lynchings when he named his fictional Mississippi town Clanton (geddit?), and the county circuit judge Omar Noose (geddit?). This may be set in the post-Civil Rights era, but it s clear we re still in White Supremacist country.
 +
 +
Director Ethan McSweeny makes use of the high wooden walls of James Noone s revolving set as a screen to show us events beyond the courthouse, starting with blurred backwoods footage over which a traumatized child s voice cries out in desperation, Daddy! That voice belongs to the unseen Tonya,[http://metrorailindia.com/nba-jerseys.html <strong>nba jerseys</strong>], a 10-year-old African-American girl savagely raped and beaten by a pair of drunken, drugged-out rednecks. Played by Lee Sellars (with mullet) and Dashiell Eaves (with greasy ponytail), these two caricatures of no-good Southern white trash are plainly guilty.
 +
 +
After ascertaining that the perpetrators will probably do less than ten years prison time, Tonya s devastated father Carl Lee Hailey (John Douglas Thompson) guns them down inside the courthouse before their case is tried. He engages Jake to represent him in the resulting murder trial, pleading not guilty by virtue of temporary insanity. Jake gets assistance from Ellen Roark (Ashley Williams), an ambitious liberal law student whose flirtatious manner the married man does his best to resist; and from his wily old pal Lucien Wilbanks (Tom Skerritt), a disbarred veteran attorney and a chronic lush.
 +
 +
Threats, intimidation tactics, burning crosses and worse shake Jake s conviction, but his word of honor to Carl Lee keeps the defense on track even through some damaging slipups. As the trial nears its closing arguments, Klansmen and NAACP protesters go head to head outside the courthouse. But the major fireworks come from the theatrics of D.A. Rufus R. Buckley, the State s prosecutor,[http://co2gerechtigkeit.de/index.php?title=Benutzer:Tkdkrfyr5#Bullies_to_girl_who_committed_suicide-_.27Nobody_cares_about_u <span style="font-weight: bold">Bullies to girl who committed suicide- 'Nobody cares about u</span>], shamelessly baiting the jury. Pouring on the oleaginous charm, Patrick Page s droll, lip-smacking performance in that role (played by Kevin Spacey in the movie) is this production s juiciest pleasure.
 +
 +
 +
 +
McSweeny keeps the plot wheels turning with more efficiency than invention, though he s aided by the versatility of Noone s elegant design and Jeff Croiter s textured lighting, lending a cinematic fluidity to the scene transitions. The problem is the material, which is mechanically predictable at every turn, right down to a pat conclusion that invites the spoonfed audience to congratulate itself for not being racist.
 +
 +
Fred Dalton Thompson&nbsp;is no stranger to the courtroom from his time on Law Order. The actor finds both gravitas and humor in the aforementioned Judge Noose, who amuses with his limited patience both for the D.A. s showboating and Jake s cockiness.
 +
 +
Also strong is John Douglas Thompson, a powerful stage presence who has done astonishing work Off Broadway in O Neill and Shakespeare. But aside from one emotionally charged scene in the witness box, his character is required to appear either stricken or stoical, without much scope to explore the nuances in between. As Carl Lee s anxious wife, Tonya Pinkins is fine but similarly impeded by a role that lacks dimension. In some ways, the county sheriff (nicely played by Chike Johnson) is the more interesting black character, remaining loyal to his own community while also having a savvy understanding of how the white establishment works.
 +
 +
Arcelus and Williams get the job done but never stray beyond the outlines of their roles stock personalities. Williams part has far less meat than Sandra Bullock s version of the same character in the movie. Skerritt, in his Broadway debut, gets by on twinkly charm, but the always-likeable actor is stuck with some of Holmes most on-the-nose writing in Lucien s reflections toward the end of the play on the legacy of racism and the progress of the new South.
 +
 +
With its ostensibly provocative stance on vigilante justice, this is clearly conceived to play onstage as an edge-of-the-seat thriller, and for undiscerning theatergoers, perhaps it will work. But in execution, it s more like a rote rehash of familiar material that demands zero thought from its audience.

== Autonomous Cars Driving the Future ==
 +
 +
<html>Seven years ago, Nissan did a study describing to consumers over-the-horizon features of autonomous cars. "Then it was...'Oh, you mean the car is going to take control, I'm not comfortable with that," said Nissan's Ms. Nguyen. "Now it's almost a complete 180 in attitude. They have a personal alliance with their smartphone, and the car is the last place where the Internet is not part of their lives."&nbsp;
 +
A fully autonomous vehicle, something you'd put your mom in, is "maybe more than a decade" away, said Dr. Herrtwich [of Mercedes Benz's autonomous-research program] with a touch of regret. That's one way to look at it. The other is, Holy Cow!&nbsp;

Brace yourself. In a few years, your car will be able to drop you off at the door of a shopping center or airport terminal,[http://metrorailindia.com/nba-jerseys.html <strong>nba jerseys</strong>], and return when summoned with a smartphone app. Audi demonstrated such a system at this year's Consumer Electronics Show.&nbsp;
 +
This is just a glimpse at what Neil covered in his piece. While I'm excited at the prospects of fully-autonomous driving, I tried to absorb what the impact might be like to the economy.&nbsp;
 +
While at first it seems like it would have a positive affect on automakers, couldn't it hurt names like Ford () and General Motors ()? Perhaps not, assuming they are selling the vehicles, but it seems like more people would abandon the role of vehicle ownership and adapt to car services such as Uber or&nbsp;Avis's&nbsp; ()&nbsp;Zipcar.
 +
Of course, if you drive to work everyday, this may not be a negotiable situation. But for city dwellers and those who work remotely, it might very well be a viable alternative if they're only forced to drive once or twice per week.&nbsp;<br><br>What about the taxi drivers who are replaced by these cars? What about the insurance companies that suffer as a result of the drastically lowered risk of driving? Not that they don't turn the screws to us anyways, but theoretically, the lowered risk&nbsp;should&nbsp;pummel insurance premiums, if not completely eliminate them.&nbsp;<br><br>These are just some of the economic impacts fully automated cars could have, which appear to be more a when, not if, type of scenario.&nbsp;
 +
Or could it have the opposite affect on the economy? In the U.S. alone,  $300 billion per year is lost due to the repercussions of auto accidents.&nbsp;
 +
While we routinely throw around numbers in the trillions because of our national debt, $300 billion is no sneeze. Consider that Google () -- which coincidently, is one of the industry leaders for autonomous driving -- has a market cap of roughly $345 billion and is the third largest company in the U.S. $300 billion is roughly equivalent to the&nbsp;combined market caps of Disney (), Starbucks (), and Facebook (). Losing that much money would be like eliminating this combination,&nbsp;every year.&nbsp;<br><br>But as public accepts seems to become more tolerant to same-sex marriage, recreational pot smoking, and overall, less discriminatory and more accepting, I think eventually autonomous car driving will eventually rule the road.
 +
I'll admit, at first I'd be a little leery about approaching a busy intersection in a car that I'm not controlling. But I could quickly get used to hopping on the freeway -- even I have to drive myself to that point -- and then letting the car take over the more mundane task of driving on the highway, where fatigue is the biggest risk.&nbsp;
 +
The technology is here, although not completely figured out yet,[http://podroz.ru/index.php/U%C5%BCytkownik:Bjudntlh9#Chip_Kelly-_I_would_think_Michael_Vick_won.E2.80.99t_be_able_t <span style="font-weight: bold">Chip Kelly- I would think Michael Vick won’t be able t</span>], while public approval is slowly playing catchup and appears to be the steepest obstacle.&nbsp;I'd be willing to go out on a limb and guess that the younger generation would be more willing and excited to see automated driving than the baby boomers and old timers. Just a hunch.&nbsp;
 +
However, the organization on how it would function is missing. Each car could operate independently, reacting to events that happen as they go,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], just like standard driving is today, only robotically. Or it could function as part of an infrastructure, with each car working together and communicating on a mass scale of efficiency.
 +
With a central hub or intelligence center, it could communicate with all the cars. If there was an accident or backup, your vehicle-to-infrastructure car would already know 20 minutes before you got there, thus alternating the route and avoiding the situation altogether. <br> <br>But using the infrastructure method could be rather difficult to implement. For starters, nearly all the cars in the country would need to be on the system for it work efficiently. Obviously, that's not likely, as there will be many people unwilling or unable to buy an autonomous vehicle. That makes the singular operating autonomous vehicle the most likely.<br><br>Also,[http://philipcareaids.org/Involve.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], the security issues are quite evident. What if we had a plethora of the country's autonomous cars running from a singular source or network,[http://www.npdx.org/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2656665&fromuid=90956 <span style="font-weight: bold">10 Achievements You Need To Earn Before The Xbox One Arrives</span>], that was compromised? I would hope that we would create some level of security that could be deemed "unhackable," but in reality, it's unlikely. &nbsp;
 +
However, this and other challenges have not prevented autonomous cars from coming to market. Slowly, they've been implemented into our society. The industry has been very careful with the introduction of these vehicle modifications. The leaders know they cannot simply plunk such a car right into our little, anti-change world. So they have to take it slow.&nbsp;
 +
First, the self-parking car was introduced, solving the problem for the drivers who circle the block 50 times in an attempt to avoid that tricky parallel park. Adaptive cruise control and lane assist are other ways the autonomous car is slowly creeping into our lives.&nbsp;
 +
But why is the public so hesitant to this change? I think Jayne O'Donnell summed it perfectly when she , "No one would question a cure for cancer that could eliminate as many as 80% of the deaths, [Michael Toscano, CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International] says, and that's what he believes eliminating the driver could accomplish."
 +
&nbsp;90% of road accidents are attributed to human error, making the argument for autonomous cars quite easy. Aside from being slightly uncomfortable with the idea, it's hard to argue that we wouldn't greatly benefit from autonomous vehicles.&nbsp;
 +
I can just see the headlines now, Autonomous Car Kills Family of Four or Robotic Car Responsible For Fatal Weekend Accident. It reminds me of the Tesla Model S fires. There's now been two fire in total, neither spontaneous, that were caused by roadway accidents. Yet these continually fill the headlines, while there's a regular car fire 513 times&nbsp;.
 +
Like Tuscano said, we wouldn't question a cure for cancer that saved most, but not all, of the vicious disease's victims, right? Even if it required releasing a little robot inside our bodies, I bet most of would be okay with it. So why this? Why fight something that, granted won't prevent every accident, but a majority of them? My guess would be control issues.&nbsp;
 +
People, and even more so, Americans, who completely  their driving skills, are just not comfortable with sacrificing control of their car to a lifeless being. But like all the other change we've been encountering, autonomous vehicles will definitely be in the mix as well.&nbsp;
 +
The idea certainly has its challenges cut out for it, such as the infrastructure that it will run on, public acceptance, and deciphering traffic lights of all things. The industry leaders know they have to slowly win over the public with features like hands-free highway driving and self-park maneuvers before they ultimately cheer autonomous vehicles. <br><br> But cheer they will. One day.<br><br>DISCLOSURE: At the time of publication, the author was long shares of F, SBUX and DIS.&nbsp;

<html>HOUSTON -- Workers at Johnson Space Center began returning to work following Wednesday night s vote to reopen the government through mid-January.
Earlier in the week, several employees,cheap nba basketball jerseys, contractors, and their family members protested the government shutdown outside JSC.
Other workers across the nation started returning to their federal jobs on Thursday as well.
The Office of Personnel Management announced Wednesday night that workers should return to work on their next regularly scheduled work day, noting that is Thursday for most workers. Nationwide, hundreds of thousands of workers have been furloughed since the shutdown began Oct. 1.
The office encouraged agencies to be flexible for a smooth transition by allowing telework and excused absences in some cases.

We re back from the (hashtag)shutdown! the Smithsonian Institution declared on Twitter, announcing that its 19 museums would reopen Thursday. The National Zoo was set to reopen Friday.

The returning workers presence will be felt on the roads and rails in the Washington region, where commutes have been less crowded over the past two weeks. The regional transit agency, Metro, reported a 20 percent drop in ridership when the shutdown began and has said it lost a few hundred thousand dollars each day.
Workers began filing in well before dawn at the U.S. Geological Survey s campus in Reston, about 20 miles outside of Washington.

Feels kind of strange, said Kathleen Faison of Ashburn, a training specialist at the survey, as she headed into the office. I kind of wish they would have kept us out until Monday.

Faison said during the first few days of the shutdown, she followed the news closely, anticipating that she could be called back any day. But by week two, I just kind of fell into my own personal routine, she said.
She said she considered teleworking for the first day or two but eventually decided I might as well just get back into the swing of things,Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale,Tigers beat Red Sox, 7.

We re definitely behind, he said. I m glad it s over.

The impasse had shuttered national parks and monuments, and mostly closed down NASA, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Interior Department. Critical functions of government went on as usual, but the closure and potential default weighed on the economy and spooked the financial markets.
Standard Poor s estimated the shutdown has taken $24 billion out of the economy.

Doctor Who- 10 More Memorable Episodes (And The Lessons They

For now,Elliott Sadler to drive MWR No. 55 in final four races of 2013,nba jerseys, see if you agree with my choices from the earlier era with Amy and Rory, all in chronological order.

Let s begin shall we;

10. The Beast Below

They encounter a ship whose engines make no noise, scary masked creatures,cheap nba basketball jerseys, and a gun-toting Queen Liz. She wanders incognito with a voluminous red cloak,Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale, white mask, and big boots,BB&T Focuses on Expenses as Revenue Declines, to investigate her corrupt government. People are coerced into forgetting what s really going on. It is fascinating how it all unfolds; I never saw the ending coming.

The Lesson: Listen to your heart and trust your instincts, no matter what anyone The Queen or Doctor Who on down- says. You may not save a space whale but you could save yourself a lot of grief!</html>

J.J. Henry Leads by 1 After Course Record 60

<html>What it means: Henry's 11-under 60 broke the existing course record, and the TCU alum now holds a slim lead as he looks for his third-career PGA Tour victory. He'll need to keep his foot on the gas,Preliminary talks underway for future LSU, though, as low scores are expected throughout the weekend amid ideal conditions at TPC Summerlin.

Round of the day: Beginning on the back nine, Henry went out in 4-under 32 and added three straight birdies on Nos. 4-6. He closed his opening round with a flurry, notching his ninth birdie of the round on the par-3 eighth before holing a 50-foot putt from off the fringe at the ninth for a closing eagle and new course record.

Best of the rest: Henry's round of 60 meant that Romero's 61 went somewhat under the radar, though it was no less impressive. The Argentine made his move during the middle of his round, playing the 11-hole stretch from Nos. 6-16 in 10 under par. It all added up to a solid start for Romero,Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale, who is making his first PGA Tour start since missing the cut at in August.

Biggest disappointment: While many players went low Thursday at TPC Summerlin,NBA Jams- Dominique Wilkins + Reebok's Call To "Pu, there were a handful of outliers. One notable that surprisingly struggled was , who carded a 3-over 74 just two weeks removed from his impressive performance at the . The Zimbabwean stumbled to six bogeys in his opening round, and as a result will have significant work to do Friday in order to survive past the 36-hole cut.

Open.

Shot of the day: Two shots left Henry just short of the par-5 ninth green, a point from which he looked to get up and down to tie the existing course record. Instead, the Texan rolled in a putt off the fringe from more than 50 feet,Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale, finishing off his record round and breaking his personal PGA Tour record for low score.

Quote of the day: "It was nice to make that putt on my last hole for a little eagle to make lunch taste that much better." - Henry,nba jerseys, whose previous low score on Tour was a 61 during the 2006 .</html>

A Time to Kill- Theater Review

<html>NEW YORK The audience becomes the jury in A Time to Kill, Rupert Holmes by-the-numbers stage adaptation of John Grisham s page-turning 1989 debut novel. But unlike the workings of a real jury, there s no room for ambiguity, moral complexity or startling insight in this formulaic courtroom drama about institutionalized racism in the Deep South, in which every liberal-pandering response has been hardwired into the dated material. Sturdy ensemble acting and Grisham s compelling storytelling make this go down easily, but the production provides little persuasive evidence that the thriller needed to become a play. our editor recommendsJohn Grisham's 'A Time to Kill' Sets Key Broadway CastThe Winslow Boy: Theater ReviewThe Glass Menagerie: Theater ReviewBig Fish: Theater ReviewA Night With Janis Joplin: Theater ReviewRomeo and Juliet: Theater Review Perhaps the main case for this page-to-stage venture just like the many upbeat musicals molded out of brand-name movies that populate Broadway is that it s pure comfort food. This is the theatrical equivalent of summer beach reading or the almost obsolete low-concept popcorn movie, which means it s not without a certain appeal.

The producers appear to be counting on most of their audience to have seen the popular 1996 Joel Schumacher film version, given that in the central role of resourceful young defense attorney Jake Brigance,Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale, they cast Sebastian Arcelus (House of Cards), who bears a notable resemblance to his screen counterpart Matthew McConaughey. It can also be no accident that the Broadway opening coincides with Doubleday s Oct. 22 publication of Grisham s Sycamore Row, a sequel to A Time to Kill that sends Brigance back to the same courtroom for another incendiary race-related case.

Director Ethan McSweeny makes use of the high wooden walls of James Noone s revolving set as a screen to show us events beyond the courthouse, starting with blurred backwoods footage over which a traumatized child s voice cries out in desperation, Daddy! That voice belongs to the unseen Tonya,nba jerseys, a 10-year-old African-American girl savagely raped and beaten by a pair of drunken, drugged-out rednecks. Played by Lee Sellars (with mullet) and Dashiell Eaves (with greasy ponytail), these two caricatures of no-good Southern white trash are plainly guilty.

Rufus R. Buckley, the State s prosecutor,Bullies to girl who committed suicide- 'Nobody cares about u, shamelessly baiting the jury. Pouring on the oleaginous charm, Patrick Page s droll, lip-smacking performance in that role (played by Kevin Spacey in the movie) is this production s juiciest pleasure.

Fred Dalton Thompson is no stranger to the courtroom from his time on Law Order. The actor finds both gravitas and humor in the aforementioned Judge Noose, who amuses with his limited patience both for the D.A. s showboating and Jake s cockiness.

Autonomous Cars Driving the Future

<html>Seven years ago, Nissan did a study describing to consumers over-the-horizon features of autonomous cars. "Then it was...'Oh, you mean the car is going to take control, I'm not comfortable with that," said Nissan's Ms. Nguyen. "Now it's almost a complete 180 in attitude. They have a personal alliance with their smartphone, and the car is the last place where the Internet is not part of their lives."  A fully autonomous vehicle, something you'd put your mom in, is "maybe more than a decade" away, said Dr. Herrtwich [of Mercedes Benz's autonomous-research program] with a touch of regret. That's one way to look at it. The other is, Holy Cow!  Brace yourself. In a few years, your car will be able to drop you off at the door of a shopping center or airport terminal,nba jerseys, and return when summoned with a smartphone app. Audi demonstrated such a system at this year's Consumer Electronics Show.  This is just a glimpse at what Neil covered in his piece. While I'm excited at the prospects of fully-autonomous driving, I tried to absorb what the impact might be like to the economy.  While at first it seems like it would have a positive affect on automakers, couldn't it hurt names like Ford () and General Motors ()? Perhaps not, assuming they are selling the vehicles, but it seems like more people would abandon the role of vehicle ownership and adapt to car services such as Uber or Avis's  () Zipcar. Of course, if you drive to work everyday, this may not be a negotiable situation. But for city dwellers and those who work remotely, it might very well be a viable alternative if they're only forced to drive once or twice per week.

What about the taxi drivers who are replaced by these cars? What about the insurance companies that suffer as a result of the drastically lowered risk of driving? Not that they don't turn the screws to us anyways, but theoretically, the lowered risk should pummel insurance premiums, if not completely eliminate them.

These are just some of the economic impacts fully automated cars could have, which appear to be more a when, not if, type of scenario.  Or could it have the opposite affect on the economy? In the U.S. alone, $300 billion per year is lost due to the repercussions of auto accidents.  While we routinely throw around numbers in the trillions because of our national debt, $300 billion is no sneeze. Consider that Google () -- which coincidently, is one of the industry leaders for autonomous driving -- has a market cap of roughly $345 billion and is the third largest company in the U.S. $300 billion is roughly equivalent to the combined market caps of Disney (), Starbucks (), and Facebook (). Losing that much money would be like eliminating this combination, every year.

But as public accepts seems to become more tolerant to same-sex marriage, recreational pot smoking, and overall, less discriminatory and more accepting, I think eventually autonomous car driving will eventually rule the road. I'll admit, at first I'd be a little leery about approaching a busy intersection in a car that I'm not controlling. But I could quickly get used to hopping on the freeway -- even I have to drive myself to that point -- and then letting the car take over the more mundane task of driving on the highway, where fatigue is the biggest risk.  The technology is here, although not completely figured out yet,Chip Kelly- I would think Michael Vick won’t be able t, while public approval is slowly playing catchup and appears to be the steepest obstacle. I'd be willing to go out on a limb and guess that the younger generation would be more willing and excited to see automated driving than the baby boomers and old timers. Just a hunch.  However, the organization on how it would function is missing. Each car could operate independently, reacting to events that happen as they go,Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale, just like standard driving is today, only robotically. Or it could function as part of an infrastructure, with each car working together and communicating on a mass scale of efficiency. With a central hub or intelligence center, it could communicate with all the cars. If there was an accident or backup, your vehicle-to-infrastructure car would already know 20 minutes before you got there, thus alternating the route and avoiding the situation altogether.

But using the infrastructure method could be rather difficult to implement. For starters, nearly all the cars in the country would need to be on the system for it work efficiently. Obviously, that's not likely, as there will be many people unwilling or unable to buy an autonomous vehicle. That makes the singular operating autonomous vehicle the most likely.

Also,Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale, the security issues are quite evident. What if we had a plethora of the country's autonomous cars running from a singular source or network,10 Achievements You Need To Earn Before The Xbox One Arrives, that was compromised? I would hope that we would create some level of security that could be deemed "unhackable," but in reality, it's unlikely.   However, this and other challenges have not prevented autonomous cars from coming to market. Slowly, they've been implemented into our society. The industry has been very careful with the introduction of these vehicle modifications. The leaders know they cannot simply plunk such a car right into our little, anti-change world. So they have to take it slow.  First, the self-parking car was introduced, solving the problem for the drivers who circle the block 50 times in an attempt to avoid that tricky parallel park. Adaptive cruise control and lane assist are other ways the autonomous car is slowly creeping into our lives.  But why is the public so hesitant to this change? I think Jayne O'Donnell summed it perfectly when she , "No one would question a cure for cancer that could eliminate as many as 80% of the deaths, [Michael Toscano, CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International] says, and that's what he believes eliminating the driver could accomplish."  90% of road accidents are attributed to human error, making the argument for autonomous cars quite easy. Aside from being slightly uncomfortable with the idea, it's hard to argue that we wouldn't greatly benefit from autonomous vehicles.  I can just see the headlines now, Autonomous Car Kills Family of Four or Robotic Car Responsible For Fatal Weekend Accident. It reminds me of the Tesla Model S fires. There's now been two fire in total, neither spontaneous, that were caused by roadway accidents. Yet these continually fill the headlines, while there's a regular car fire 513 times . Like Tuscano said, we wouldn't question a cure for cancer that saved most, but not all, of the vicious disease's victims, right? Even if it required releasing a little robot inside our bodies, I bet most of would be okay with it. So why this? Why fight something that, granted won't prevent every accident, but a majority of them? My guess would be control issues.  People, and even more so, Americans, who completely their driving skills, are just not comfortable with sacrificing control of their car to a lifeless being. But like all the other change we've been encountering, autonomous vehicles will definitely be in the mix as well.  The idea certainly has its challenges cut out for it, such as the infrastructure that it will run on, public acceptance, and deciphering traffic lights of all things. The industry leaders know they have to slowly win over the public with features like hands-free highway driving and self-park maneuvers before they ultimately cheer autonomous vehicles.

But cheer they will. One day.

Kim Kardashian's swimsuit selfie was 'big middle finger' to

<html>
Remember that shared a few weeks back? The attention-starved reality star claims it was all meant as a giant kiss-off to the nasty ol' meanies who snarked on her weight while pregnant.

Kardashian appeared on on Wednesday (Oct. 30), where she lamented the nasty press she endured after gaining 50 pounds while pregnant with newborn North West.

"It really changed me a lot," she cried. "It really did affect me, for me to act like it didn't ... It really hurt my soul.

"I was gaining weight because I was pregnant and it was just really hard to read all these stories and hear all these nasty things,cheap nba basketball jerseys," the star continued. As for why she remained out of the spotlight post-birth, it wasn't because she was hoping to make a big commotion when she appeared newly slimmed down -- oh,Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale, no. "It's like,nba jerseys, why even go out as much just to put yourself in that position?" This came, it must be noted, in the very same interview where Kardashian also touted her good fortune to be filming Season 9 of her hit (and apparently, non-invasive) reality show.

As for that sultry semi-nude selfie,Red Sox pin hopes on John Lackey in Game 6 of World Series v, that wasn't for attention, either. It was a simply a jab back at her bullies. After taking it, she sent it to new fiance for advice. "I was like 'Babe,Microsoft's the Impostor, Not Amazon 0, can I post this up? This is like my big middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat,'" she revealed. Clearly, .

Are you buying what Kardashian's selling about becoming a more private person?</html>
