When you spend a ton of money on one back and don't get what you're hoping for, why not throw some more money at another back? In this case, the Titans paid Greene to serve as the short-yardage and goal-line back in a part-time role. It was a crazy move considering how , but that's already obvious. Instead, Greene's arrival got me thinking about goal-line backs in general. Johnson is not considered a typical goal-line back because of his size: Listed at 5-foot-11 and 203 pounds, Johnson is no one's idea of a bruiser. Greene is a more conventionally sized goal-line back; while he's also 5-11, Greene packs on 20 more pounds than Johnson. But is that really a good thing? Are bigger backs really more effective at the goal line than smaller backs? What sort of player succeeds with the end zone just yards away? Well, let's see if history suggests anything. During my time at Football Outsiders, I built a model for testing effectiveness near the goal line that's simple enough to apply. It estimates the likelihood that a back will score a touchdown given the down and distance to the goal line, given historical data on success rates inside the 5-yard line. Actual construction would hinge on challenges far more complex than advanced engineering -- those involving money and politics. Others suggested his timeframe of a decade to completion was naive -- that getting political backing and environmental clearances, much less land to build the tubes on, would be hugely time-consuming.       24,346gE  Two years ago,  uploaded a video of a baby that was super excited to see her mom, but also waaaaay too sleepy. It was an insanely cute combination—so much so that the video became viral hit. You might've watched it, and then never thought about this baby again.

Well, I've kept watching—in fact, it might be accurate to say that I've seen this baby grow up from thousands of miles away. I've watched her eat, I've watched her play, I've watched her cry. I've watched her discover the weirdness of trying out shoes on for the first time (it seems so arbitrary at a young age!). I've watched her discover that everything has a name and a place. I've watched her laughter bubble and burst. I've watched her do all these things, and she has no idea who I am—or that hundreds of thousands of people watch her do all these things regularly. That's kind of odd, right? Her name is Yerin. It means 'treasure' in Korean. She's two years old, turning three on the 23rd of September, and if it wasn't obvious from the first video,Star Trek Cinematographer to Shoot Star Wars Episode VII on, she is immensely, immensely adorable. Yes—we'll get to that. There are videos, a ton more videos. We'll get to them in a second. For now I can't help on muse on it all—the way I've watched her grow up from afar, I mean. It kind of weirds me out to think about. Perhaps it's the fear that, despite my protests, there actually is some latent desire for motherhood in me. Sure, seems like some gender essentializing bullshit, and I don't seriously think that's what's happening here, but sometimes, I can't help but think about it for a second. Maybe I shouldn't be weirded out, though. The list of things mitigated online now for me are endless, from work to friends to romance and everything in between. Who knows? Coroner IDs man, 26, dead at Las Vegas 1

Authorities have identified a 26-year-old worker who died after falling at a construction site in Summerlin.Clark County coroner?s officials say Henderson resident Mark Brian Lovett died at the scene of the fall a little before 9 a.m. Tuesday. His exact cause of death hasn?t yet been released.Las Vegas police Officer Lawrence Hadfield says the fall happened at the 10000 block of Summerlin Centre Drive, near the Red Rock casino.Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration say an inspector was dispatched to the site, and the agency is investigating.Officials at the Howard Hughes Corp., which is developing the site into a shopping center, issued a statement saying they were deeply saddened by Lovett?s death and are dedicated to worker safety.</html>
