On addressing early mistakes:
 +
“When you start out the game and you have a fumble, you don’t want to turn the football over, especially the first play of the game. Then your second series you have an interception and your third you have a safety. You put a lot of pressure on your defense right away. They got a lot of momentum going. They did a good job controlling the tempo of the game, especially in that first quarter, but they didn’t score any touchdowns until that seventh and eighth drive and I think they had like 40 plays before they actually put the ball in the end zone for a sustained drive. We did some poor things there in that first half. I thought we rallied back in the second half, made a few adjustments defensively, but I think we adjusted to their unbalanced set a lot better in the second half than we did in the first half. We had some missed alignments and missed tackles, but I was pleased coming into the second half after that first turnover that we were able to put [together] some drives and get some touchdowns.”
 +
On some players saying they were surprised by what they saw from the Eagles’ offense:
 +
“There was only one play that we saw that we hadn’t practiced against, so, from that standpoint, I felt pretty good about that. Only one play they ran offensively that was a surprise to me that I hadn’t seen before on tape. We had a couple of misalignments with their unbalanced set so I always put the responsibility for that on coaches, not on players. We had a few missed tackles, that has a lot to do with [Eagles running back LeSean] McCoy and [Eagles quarterback Mike] Vick and a couple of their great athletes they do have. We did adjust, we did make some adjustments and I was pleased with the way we came back in the second half even though we fell short.”
 +
On what individual’s performance surprised him the most:
 +
“Like I just said, any time you go into halftime and you are down by a number of points you want to see what your football team is made of, and we put ourselves in position to win the game. I was disappointed that one fourth-and-10, we were getting the ball off and we jumped offsides, but that would have been a touchdown if we got that ball off in time,[http://hospetsteels.in/Jerseys-For-Cheap.html 49ers Jerseys For Cheap], so you look at those type of opportunities and when you fall a little bit short and you’ve got a chance to still find a way to win the game and you don’t, you are disappointed... I don’t want to just point any one person out, but any time you are able to go three touchdowns in four series, you feel pretty good about the offense because it takes everybody to get the ball in the endzone. One or two people make a mistake and all of the sudden it’s like that first half, a lot of three plays and out or a turnover.”
 +
On the play of quarterback Robert Griffin III:
 +
“I think offensively as a group, we were pretty average in the first half. It’s not one person, it’s everybody, as I shared with you yesterday. I don’t critique players through the media, but it takes a unit to do things that we had done a year ago and things that we did in the second half. We played one of our poorer first halves with turnovers and mistakes and we’ll get better.”
 +
On if he noticed a point when Griffin III started to settle in:
 +
“Like I said, I don’t critique players through the media. I critique a unit and offensively we didn’t do the things we normally do as a group.”
 +
On the difficulty of preparing for the Eagles defense:
 +
“I’ll be honest with you, like I said before, you kind of go back and take a look at what people have done in the past and we went back to Arizona, and we went back to different places [Eagles Defensive Coordinator] Bill [Davis] has been and they just play a sound defense. They are not very complicated different things that we have gone against all preseason. The only thing they did is probably had little corner fires with a tight split, and we had practiced that throughout the preseason. I did think they executed well, especially in that first half.”
 +
On why some of the Eagles blitzes were successful:
 +
“Different things that we practiced throughout the week. Any team can overload people in the middle and you’ve got to throw hot and sometimes you get a perfect protection if you’ve got the right play call, but I was pleased with how we practiced during the week, and what we practiced during the week, at least from a blitz standpoint, is exactly what we saw. It’s very similar to what they’ve done in the past.”
 +
On decision to start cornerback E.J. Biggers at safety:
 +
“Anytime you play a nickelback, you could be in nickel, you can be a inime, they are interchangeable. We thought with what they did offensively we could take advantage of his speed out there, especially with the injuries that we had seen during the preseason.”
 +
On if he is frustrated by the injury status of safety Brandon Meriweather:
 +
“I think you are always disappointed when you’ve got a football player that you think is going to be ready and then all of the sudden he’s not. I was really pleased with Brandon going into the last preseason game. He lasted half and then all of the sudden, on that Monday, he strains his groin, so that’s always disappointing. I am hoping this week he’ll be ready to go. I know he’s ready to go. He’s been working extremely hard to put himself in position to play well. I’m just hoping this week he will be ready.”
 +
On if the team suffered any injuries in the game:
 +
“I don’t think there are any injuries that will keep anybody out. A couple of guys are banged up but that’s about it.”
 +
On the improvement of wide receiver Leonard Hankerson:
 +
“I think he needs some playing time. Like we talked about before, he’s got to have some consistency like he did last night to make those plays. I thought he did a great job in that red zone. He ran an excellent route. What a lot of people don’t see is the route’s he is running and when he doesn’t get the ball and he’s open. That’s what you are impressed with, so, it’s just not the ones he catches, it’s what he does when he’s not hit that if the quarterback had to look that way he would have been open, so that’s what’s positive about Hank.”
 +
On if outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan will have to miss any practice:
 +
“He was cleared to go today.”
 +
On if early mistakes were relation to lack of preseason playing time:
 +
“You’ve just got to go through those mistakes. If you take a look at the first play and you take a look at the fumble, [running back] Alfred Morris gets hit all the time in practice. He wraps up, we work on turnovers and it is very unusual for him to have that type of mistake. Interceptions are going to occur every once in a while. You are hoping to eliminate those mistakes. That’s why you try to put that quarterback through as many repetitions as you can versus different coverages where things become automatic for him. You take the toss on the goal line and all of the sudden it winds up being a safety. Those are things you have to play through, and that’s why I was kind of pleased with our football team. I thought we were playing through. We made a lot of mistakes in that first half and we still had a chance to come back and at least make it a game so those are the things we are going to be working on this week.”
 +
On the play of tight end Jordan Reed:
 +
“I thought Jordan, for the first game, really took advantage of his opportunities when he was in there, both in the running game and the passing game.”
 +
On his take on the running game:
 +
“What running game? First of all, you fall behind. Any time you have 21 plays in the first half, that’s not a lot of plays. If we play like we did in the second half, then you have got a chance to put up some pretty good numbers. At the end of the day you have to find a way to win,[http://redeluta.dmgroup.com.br/blog/248266/debate-over-denman-prospects-development-continues/ Debate over Denman Prospect's development continues]

I was pleased with the way we came back, with the way we came out, we did some good things, except for that first turnover, and we fell a little bit short.”
 +
On Chris Thompson’s freedom and decision making on returns:
 +
“That’s what you work on, all the time., where you catch it, hangtime, how many yards deep are you, are you going forward. Same thing on punt returns. We don’t work very often on catching the ball at the 3-yard line. A young guy sometimes, you line up on the 10 and you don’t realize you drift back there. I was pleased though. He had the guts to go back there and at least catch it with a lot of people around him. Even though that’s a negative, it’s a positive that his concentration level is there and we’re just going to have to put him through more reps so he doesn’t catch the ball inside the 10-yard-line. .That one when he caught the ball on the five-yard line, especially with the fair catch, that’s a mistake. That’s a rookie mistake. The more experienced he gets,[http://ibmrbangalore.com/jerseys.html <span class="Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys Sale">4.12 </span>Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys Sale], the better he’s going to be. They had some great coverage and there were not a lot of holes there. I was pleased with his effort, but those decisions are going to have to improve.”
 +
On how Griffin III is feeling:
 +
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to Robert today. We graded the film and looked at it as a coaching staff. When you’re a day short, you’re on to Green Bay and they’ve got an extra day on us, so that’s what we’ve been doing.”
 +
On kicker Kai Forbath’s improvement on kickoffs:
 +
“He explained to me exactly what he did and I was really impressed because Kai is a very bright young man. He worked extremely hard in the offseason to increase his distance on kickoffs and you can see what the difference is. Yeah, he’s been working at it and obviously it’s helped him, and it’s going to help our coverage team out. He can explain that to you. I’m not smart enough to figure that one out.” .

Social conflicts that can threaten our rapidly transforming

<html>The President of India deplored that the social conflicts threatening our rapidly transforming society. Speaking at the presentation of Rastrapati Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger and Adult Leader Award/certificates for the year 2011and 2012 at Rashtrapathi Bhavan, he observed that our nation is presently transiting through an unprecedented demographic change.

In 2020, he said the average Indian will be only 29 years old. This should indicate how important it is for us to focus, today, on our youth. While we speak of inclusive growth, it is the leaders at the grassroots who will be the agents of change. He is confident that the Scouts and Guides Movement can effectively provide this leadership where it is needed - at the bottom of the pyramid.
He lauded the Scouts and Guides Movement in India for its success in developing a wide national network and also in connecting with counterpart organizations throughout the world to spread friendship and cooperation. He appreciated that their strength has reached a record 51 lakhs. This is certainly indicative of the increasing enthusiasm, in the youth of India, to embrace the motto of service and to work for national integration and international harmony:, he added.

He said that they represents a highly motivated and well-organized body of dedicated youth and have proven to be a very efficient voluntary movement, non-political in nature, that has purposefully engaged in the building of an enlightened and progressive society.

Referring to their guiding dictum,49ers Jerseys For Cheap, duty to god, duty to others and duty to self ,Myer chief sees gloomy year ahead

It will impel them to spread the virtues of mutual respect and brotherhood in our society. Through their participation in the Scouts and Guides Movement, he said they will also realise their own intellectual, physical and spiritual potential.

Referring to their campaigns Khari Kamai in which they undertake work for remuneration that is then used by their respective Units, he said this simple campaign teaches them dignity of labour, an important value that Gandhiji strongly upheld. Inculcating this at a young age will enthuse you with self confidence, self reliance and a sense of duty, he added.

The President reminded them that as Indians, we have inherited a legacy of profound reverence towards nature. Community activities to protect, conserve and preserve our abundant natural resources and our environment are, in my estimation a national duty. Creating greater awareness of this duty, and the manner in which each and every member of our society can fulfil this important obligation is an area where your cadres can make a big difference.

He emphasised that in our quest for higher standards of living,Nike NFL Jerseys, we must equally seek to create higher standards of social order. He said that we must be increasingly mindful of the sensitivities of those around us and how they may be affected by our words and deeds. While we endeavour to eliminate the problems that distort our social development, and as we address imbalances,Cheap Giants Jerseys Sale, we must collectively identify the values that have, over the centuries, served to safeguard the pluralistic and secular fabric of our society , he asked.
He said that we must reinforce these ethics so that as we go forth into a globalised world, we, as Indians, remain faithful to these unique traditions. Similarly, we must strive to continuously generate greater tolerance and understanding among all sections of our democratic society. He said their initiatives can help in the building of national pride among young people and teach them to recognize and reject any narrow and divisive agendas. The Scouts and Guides law of pure in thought, word and deed is an excellent principle indeed. In this context, especially, the Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers are fortunate that they have the guidance of Adult Leaders.

Pranab Mukherjee conveyd his deep appreciation to the Scouts and Guides for your untiring efforts in rescue and rehabilitation operations - including just a few months ago during the devastating floods in Uttarakhand. You have been at the forefront in extremely challenging situations. Your support to the railways and civil administration during the Kumbh Mela, your programmes of rebuilding schools, Polio Immunization, Anti Tobacco Campaign, Education extension and Community Workshops are only a few of the numerous projects that you have so successfully carried out , he observed. He thanked each and every member of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Movement for your selfless service to the nation.</html>

Sonoma County unveils proposed rules for creekside zoning

<html>Sonoma County planning officials are advancing new zoning rules they say will clarify county regulations that shield streams and creeks from development and agriculture. The updated zoning affects properties along more than 3,cheap nfl jerseys,200 miles of year-round and seasonal streams in unincorporated areas. It spells out the size of protective setbacks, essentially buffer zones, required in cases of general development and agricultural cultivation next to streams. The proposed also would clarify what is allowed and prohibited within the setback areas. Currently,Cheap Arizona Cardinals Jerseys On Sale, those regulations are buried in a number of county land-use plans and codes, county officials say.

We're just trying to make it more transparent, said Jennifer Barrett, deputy director of the county's Permit and Resource Management Department.

The regulations have been in place since at least 2008, either as part of the county's General Plan and smaller area plans or as part of grading and building codes. Their implementation in the zoning for hundreds of streamside properties would not expand the regulations, apart from minor revisions spelling out permitted and prohibited activities, officials said. In some cases, the revisions make the setback rules more lenient.

It's just reflecting in the zoning code what the standard practices are, so that people will know, Barrett said.

Still, farming and property rights advocates are wary about the zoning update. Tito Sasaki, president of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau, said the group may disagree that the General Plan intended for the regulations to be applied uniformly in the zoning code. He also wasn't convinced that only minor revisions were proposed in the update.

That's definitely their stand, he said of county planners, but it's not the entire story as far as we can see it.

County planners said the update is not envisioned as part of a broad crackdown on illegal or unpermitted streamside activities. Enforcement generally would be focused on new activities going forward, they said. Existing structures and crops encroaching in setback areas would be allowed as legal non-conforming uses. But property rights activists also are raising questions. Some are trying to rally a large turnout Thursday at a county workshop about the rules to urge that any decision be put off to allow more input.

I think the public needs to have the ability to digest it a little bit more, said Gloria Ball, a founding member of the Sonoma County Land Rights Coalition.

She took issue with limits on plant removal in setback areas, saying non-native brush such as Himalayan black berry threatens to choke many local streams. Generally, the county allows work in setback areas focused on streamside maintenance, restoration, pest management and fire prevention. Other permitted uses include timber harvest, grazing, mining, wells, water storage, nfl jersey authentic, public roadways, utilities, docks, trails and parks. Most activities in streamside areas require a permit from state regulators. In its jurisdiction, the county grants exceptions for some new building and other activities when a landowner has an approved conservation plan for the site. In addition to the 4 p.m. public workshop Thursday, in the hearing room for the Permit and Resource Management Department, another workshop is planned for 3 p.m., Oct. 23. Random Ramsdom- St. Louis Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons, & Fantas

<html>: extremely skilled and  : Yahoo! Sports

There s no time like the present to predict the 2014 playoff picture. There are two NFC West teams currently projected to make the postseason. I ll give you two guesses. That s right Rams and Cardinals. Hold on I was looking at my computer upside down. It s not the Rams and Cardinals.

There s no doubting that Jared Cook is going to be one of Sam Bradford s favorite targets in 2013. For a guy who left his former team as a result of too few looks, he can t be disappointed with his Week 1 contributions in a new city. I ve said it before, but had he been able to run about 15 more feet unattended [thanks, Honey Badger],Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys On Sale, he d be rank 2nd in the NFL amongst receivers after Week 1; with 196 yards and 3 scores.

If you re expecting to read a bunch about how spectacular the Falcons offense is, then this probably isn t the read for you. Furthermore, why would you have made it this far into the read if you were amped for some Falcons goodness? This one s got some Rams moxie, and it s as if they re leaning in St. Louis direction without actually stating it. The poll, however, says otherwise

If you think Vegas has the Rams as favorites, you re well delusional. That delusion, however, doesn t mean that you d be wrong in thinking the Rams can win. Heck, I do. It looks, though, as if the Falcons might be favorites by less than a TD.

The fantasy guru s over at NFL.com are certain that Jared Cook is Sam Bradford s go-to guy. It s kind of hard to argue,Cheap Giants Jerseys On Sale, considering the day Cook had in the season opener. Here s some fantasy insight on Cook, and a few other NFL TE s you should be starting this week.

DC s Take: I truly think this one s winnable for the Rams. It s easy to look at the schedule and predict losses based on assumed excellence of their opponent. If I m being transparent, I m tired of doing that; and quite honestly, it s pointless. I think the Rams' offense - though inexperienced - will continue to put it together as the season progresses. The mid-season form Rams makes for a very scary opponent. The Falcons offense is a bit nicked up - and regardless of that - I think the Rams defense could seriously stifle one of the NFL s most elite passing offenses. The Falcons are known for their game-changing offensive players some of which are dinged up. Contrary to my preseason prediction, I can see the Rams pulling this one out. Even if I m wrong, this game will be closer than you think in the 4th quarter

Francis takes delivery of new Popemobile... a 29

<html>Rev. Zocca told Italian magazine Famiglia Cristiana: 'The security guard standing next to me was really worried because he knew that from now on he ll be going around the Vatican in my car.'
It is not the first stir Pope Francis has caused since he was chosen to serve in February.
Atheists won t face eternal damnation after all, he declared yesterday, as long as they are morally upstanding. In an extraordinary open letter, Pope Francis indicated that well-behaved non believers are not in fact committing a sin.

Pope Francis recently stunned journalists when he said homosexuals should not be judged He wrote: What matters for those who don t believe is to follow their conscience.

Sin only happens when those who don t have faith go against their conscience.

The letter, published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, was responding to a question posed in an editorial by the paper in July. 'Will God forgive those who do not believe in him? 'it asked. The pontiff s seemingly softened line on atheists is at odds with Catholic doctrine stating that only believers will be saved. Earlier this year Vatican spokesman Padre Rosica insisted all salvation comes from Christ, the Head, through the Church which is his body. Quoting from doctrine in the Cathechism, he said: Hence they cannot be saved who, knowing the Church as founded by Christ and necessary for salvation, nfl jerseys online for sale, would refuse to enter her or remain in her.
Since his appointment in April Francis has repeatedly reached out to non-believers. On Ash Wednesday he washed the feet of a Muslim woman in a juvenile detention centre. And on Tuesday he suggested converting empty convents into homes for refugees.
The u-turn comes as the Pope s new deputy signalled that the Vatican could also be softening its stance towards married priests,[13] [14] [15] [16] <a name="http://www.closetochina.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=126757"></a> [http://www.closetochina.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=126757 </ a> <a href="http://www.closetochina.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=126757">4.12 ] .

Diana Nyad to critics- ‘No one’s going to take o

<html>(CNN) Saying no one can can diminish what she and her team accomplished, a confident Diana Nyad took on her critics Wednesday night on Piers Morgan Live. Her record-breaking Cuba to Florida swin, she said, was by the book.

We swam fair and square, squeaky clean across that thing,Cheap Authentic New Orleans Saints Jerseys Sale, Nyad said,4.12 nfl jersey cheap, at times raising her voice, during the interview.
No one s going to take our joyand our moment that the world was inspired by away from us. Nobody.

The 64-year-old marathon swimmer has been hit with criticism ever since she finished her record-breaking 53-hour, 110-mile journey last week.

Some say the numbers don t add up. Was it really a record? Did she cheat?

Nyad answered her critics, point by point.

Did she get help?

No, Nyad said. She said she was out in the open ocean the whole time.

Never, never took a rest, never touched a boat, never got out on a boat, she said.

During 27 hours of swimming, she went from 1.5 mph than to more than 3 mph. Many marathon swimmers say that s deeply suspicious. Her explanation?

It s simple math, Nyad said. And also a lucky stretch. She said she hit a perfect current that pushed her along at a quicker speed.

If you got lucky, which I did that day and I m swimming at 1.7 miles per hour I have a current at, let s say, 2. 2 miles per hour You add them togetherand you re close to 4 miles an hour. It s easy.

Critcs say that it s impossible for her not to eat or drink for more than seven hours during the swim. Her response?

That s pure fiction, Nyad said. That rumor started, Nyad said, when a doctor said she was having serious stomach problems during the swim. The doctor said she was having problems eating solid food.

That doesn t mean you don t eat, she said. My handlers, they made me nutritional supplement drinks. I m always taking in food,<a name="http://invicus.com/New-Orleans-Saints-Jerseys-Sale.html">Cheap Authentic New Orleans Saints Jerseys On Sale</a>,Annual Tribute in Light shines in NYC

Seven hours. That never happened.

Some question whether she violated the traditions of the sport by using a specialized mask and wetsuit to protect herself from jellyfish stings. Did she break the rule?

The specialized mask she wore is allowed in the rules, Nyad said. And by the way, she added, that mask could hardly be called an aid. It s cumbersome and makes it harder to swim.

It s not an aid, believe me. You wish you didn t have this thing on, she said. They re the most dangerous jellyfish in the world. They re fatal. You need to be protected. In many areas of the world, those types of suits are allowed; just not in the English Channel.

Does she think her effort will be ratified? Did she swim for nothing?

Nyad said she ll have to wait and see if she is officially affirmed as the first person to have completed the Cuba-Florida swim unassisted and without a shark cage. These questions don t help.

But she says, in some ways, she understands the scrutiny.

People have been trying since 1950 to get across. It did seem nearly impossible, Nyad said. It better be vetted. But our team is squeaky clean. This swim will the ratified in due time.

Civil War battlesite is at heart of property rights dispute

<html>
The Virginian-Pilot
September 12, 2013 YORK COUNTY

The file is full of wonk eye-glazing zoning terms, cryptic military acronyms, catchy historic preservation slogans.

At the heart of it, though, is a 250-acre tangle of towering trees and humming cicadas off Colonial Parkway, where conflict seems drawn to the very land.

Owned since the 1970s by a Maryland family, the property is caught in a dilemma that s all too familiar in this part of Virginia, where you can t swing a stick without hitting some history, or a military installation.

The owners want to sell to the highest bidder, which could turn out to be a developer. Trouble is, the place was the scene of a Civil War battle, and history buffs are clamoring for it to be preserved. Right next door, and also in the fray: the Navy s Cheatham Annex, where specialized troops train for war and rooftops aren t welcome near the perimeter.

The Navy says it s not inclined to buy the land, and local preservationists say they can t afford it. Even with its warts the parcel has serious access problems it s assessed at $2.3 million.

So the two stakeholders joined forces, asking York County to strip the property of its mixed-use overlay designation a category of land planning that s a plus for future building. Losing that might do more than just ward off bulldozers; it could push the landowner to lower his price.

No go.

Last week, county supervisors voted 3-2 to not only keep the mixed-use in place, but expand it to a neighboring parcel owned by Anheuser Busch.

Capt. Lowell Crow, commanding officer of the annex and Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, left the meeting visibly upset. Preservationists loitered in the foyer, stunned.

What they just did reduced the possibility of preservation to near-extinction, said Drew Gruber, a member of a small, grassroots group called the Williamsburg Battlefield Trust. Looks to me like they just don t care.

Matt Egger, whose father was given the land as part of a retirement package, felt vindicated by the vote.

I want to sell it for what it s worth,New NFL Jerseys, he said.

Egger did not want to be quoted further, but he agreed to share his views. Egger, a lawyer, said he sees himself as a reasonable man whose rights were being threatened. He said he s willing to sell to anyone who offers fair market value.

Subdivisions and shopping centers have erased most traces of the Battle of Williamsburg, one of the Civil War s first full-blown clashes. It took place at the narrowest spot on the Peninsula, and its network of earthen redoubts once sprawled across parts of today s Upper York County, James City County and Williamsburg.

On the scale of Civil War casualties, the Battle of Williamsburg was minor, a footnote largely forgotten today in the Historic Triangle, where the Revolutionary War is king. Interstate 64 bored through the site 50 years ago.

But on a rainy afternoon in May 1862, some of the era s most famous warriors fought there George Custer, Jubal Early, Winfield Scott Hancock, Joseph Hooker and a substantial redoubt still etches Egger s property, the last remnant of respectable size.

More important, hundreds of fallen soldiers were buried on the spot. The North exhumed its dead in the aftermath, but many Confederates remained in unmarked graves that, to preservationists, make the property hallowed ground.

Similar stories play out across Virginia, the backdrop for many of America s milestones and struggles. In the Civil War alone, 123 of the 384 principal battles took place here.

No. 2, Tennessee, had only 38.

Add in the state s Colonial history, and it s not surprising that Virginians regularly lock horns. Preservationists wrestle with the put-up-a-marker-and-move-on ranks. Localities grapple with the rights of property owners and the needs of now.

The military s presence can up the rub, and Virginia is thick with installations. Development near active bases Oceana Naval Air Station and Fentress Auxiliary Landing Field, to name two is a chronic burr.

Egger s property butts up to the Navy annex and isn t far from the weapons station. Spanning 16,Cheap Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Sale,000 heavily wooded acres, both have become hubs for expeditionary and special operations training.

One Marine FAST company  Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team is based at Yorktown, and two more are scheduled to move there from South Hampton Roads. A Virginia Beach construction company recently won a $14 million contract to build their support facilities.

Encroachment is our issue, not history, said Mark Piggott, a public affairs officer for the Navy.

Worst-case scenario: a residential project on Cheatham s doorstep. Homes full of televisions and cellphones spew electrical emissions that could interfere with certain types of exercises conducted there, Piggott said.

The Navy isn t offering more details, but at least two admirals have sent letters to York County, asking its supervisors to restrict future development near the installation. Crow, calling Cheatham essential to today s defense strategy, specifically requested the removal of Egger s mixed-use designation.

Egger says the Navy should just buy his property, but Crow says the military purchases only the minimum amount of real estate required for its mission. There is money for buffers a fund called Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative, or REPI but it can t be paid to private landowners. Only nonprofit or government entities are eligible.

A solution could lie with The Civil War Trust, a national nonprofit with deeper pockets than local groups.

The trust has 55,000 donating members and owns a small piece of the Williamsburg battlefield, a single acre on the far side of the site from Egger s place.

That acre was purchased with the help of the state. Legislation passed in 2010 created a Civil War Preservation Fund, the first of its kind in the country. The state fund doles out a dollar for every one that nonprofits can raise for a project.

I think 32 sites have been protected, thanks to this program, said Mary Koik, a spokeswoman for the trust.

But most old Civil War sites are on their own. Only 60 or so of the war s major battlefields are under National Park Service jurisdiction, and many of the rest slip steadily into the past.

An advisory committee surveying sites for Congress in the 1990s rated Williamsburg s battle Class B not epic, but decisive in the context of its campaign. The park service says Egger s property would make the cut for the National Register of Historic Places.

The trust says it s interested in buying the land, if a workable deal can be struck one likely to tap into that state grant fund.

In the meantime, the group will continue its pitch to persuade localities such as York to step up. The trust turns out studies and pamphlets with slogans like Blue and Gray Makes Green.

Battlefields, surreal as it would seem to the dead, are marketed as assets to communities draws for heritage tourism, and green space that boosts property values.

But York, the setting of the British surrender to George Washington, is loaded with historically sensitive land, and its supervisors say the frugal county can t afford to bankroll a Civil War park.

Redoubts from the 1781 surrender were part of a golf course before the feds stepped in to save them in the 1930s.

Property taxes are another issue. More than half the county s land is already exempt owned by the Department of Defense, the park service, utilities and the like. If the trust buys Egger s land,[17] [18] [19] [20] <a name="http://hmhl.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=205050"></a> [http://hmhl.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=205050 </ a> <a href="http://hmhl.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=205050">4.12 ] , and covers it with the typical easements, this would be another big piece off the tax rolls, said Supervisor Don Wiggins.

Egger s parcel wouldn t be simple to develop. It s hemmed in on all sides,Authentic 49ers Jerseys Sale, with no access off the parkway or the interstate. Getting to it requires driving down a mile-long gravel road that runs through Busch property.

But the neighborhood, near Water Country USA, is desirable: In 2005, Egger sold a 36-acre piece of the battlefield for $1.3 million. On the west side of I-64, it s now dotted with houses.

So far, he says, no one has put a formal offer on the table. He says that he d like to see the battlefield survive, but that he s more concerned about his family s welfare, and he thinks most people in his position would feel the same way.

Basically, he said, it s like this:

If you want to sell your house, you shouldn t have to take a hit just because the military is on your doorstep, or some history happened in your backyard.

By Sean Tehan

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke to reporters on Wednesday about the offense s Jekyll and Hyde Sunday performance in the team s season opening 34-28 loss at San Francisco. The Packers Rodgers-led offense scored 28 points on four possessions but Rodgers said the team has to improve after the offense recorded five three-and-outs against the 49ers.
We have to be more consistent and help our defense out a little bit, Rodgers said. It is on us. We have to score more points. We feel we need to get in scoring territory on every possession, and we know we have to outscore the opponent.

The 49ers dominated the Packers in time of possession (SF 38:35, GB 21:25), total yards (SF 402, GB 322) and turnovers (SF 0, GB 2) on Sunday. Despite the loss, Rodgers was encouraged to see improvement from rookies David Bakhtiari and Eddie Lacy at left tackle and running back, respectively. Lacy primarily was Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on Sunday, as he scored his first touchdown but also recorded his first fumble against San Francisco.

I think they both had some really good plays and some plays they can learn from on Sunday, Rodgers said about both rookies. There is always knit-picking because we d like to be perfect out there. We strive for perfection, and we expect a lot from each other. I m really proud of the young guys, cheap nfl jerseys, they prepared well last week, and we strive for perfection and hold our guys to a high standard.

Packer wide receivers Jordy Nelson (7 rec, 130 yards, TD) and Randall Cobb (7 rec, 108 yards, TD) both starred on Sunday, but fellow wideout James Jones was quiet in the opener. Jones, who led the in touchdown catches (14) last season, did not record one catch against the 49ers. Rodgers and Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said they were both very confident in their veteran offensive weapon.

I look at James as one of our emerging leaders on our team, McCarthy said. He is extremely professional, does a lot of little things, and puts in a lot of extra time. He is a class act, and I m not concerned about him.

The Packers (0-1) will face the Washington Redskins (0-1) in their home opener at Lambeau Field this upcoming Sunday. At San Francisco, Rodgers and the Packers offense successfully ran the no-huddle offense with great efficiency a play-style which the Redskins had great trouble defending this past Monday Night against the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0). The Redskins allowed the Eagles offense to rack up 443 yards of total offense and score 33 points. McCarthy, who used to work with Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, said he has great respect for the Redskins. Rodgers echoed his coach, and said the Packers offense will have their hands full on Sunday.

They are very well coached, Rodgers said about the Redskins defense. They have a good mix of veterans and young players. They have a talented defense which throws a lot at you,[http://gvnschool.net/Jerseys-Sale.html Cheap Arizona Cardinals Jerseys On Sale</ a>, and they are known for giving opposing offenses issues.

The Redskins and Packers will kickoff at noon CST at Lambeau Field Sunday. Check your local listings for television coverage. On Tuesday,New NFL Jerseys, September 10, 2013, Redskins HC Mike Shanahan addressed the media following afternoon practice from Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.
.
On addressing early mistakes:
On some players saying they were surprised by what they saw from the Eagles’ offense:
On what individual’s performance surprised him the most:
“Like I just said, any time you go into halftime and you are down by a number of points you want to see what your football team is made of, and we put ourselves in position to win the game. I was disappointed that one fourth-and-10, we were getting the ball off and we jumped offsides, but that would have been a touchdown if we got that ball off in time,49ers Jerseys For Cheap, so you look at those type of opportunities and when you fall a little bit short and you’ve got a chance to still find a way to win the game and you don’t, you are disappointed...
On the play of quarterback Robert Griffin III:
“I think offensively as a group, we were pretty average in the first half. It’s not one person, it’s everybody, as I shared with you yesterday. I don’t critique players through the media, but it takes a unit to do things that we had done a year ago and things that we did in the second half. We played one of our poorer first halves with turnovers and mistakes and we’ll get better.”
On if he noticed a point when Griffin III started to settle in:
“Like I said, I don’t critique players through the media. I critique a unit and offensively we didn’t do the things we normally do as a group.”
On the difficulty of preparing for the Eagles defense:
“I’ll be honest with you, like I said before, you kind of go back and take a look at what people have done in the past and we went back to Arizona, and we went back to different places [Eagles Defensive Coordinator] Bill [Davis] has been and they just play a sound defense. They are not very complicated different things that we have gone against all preseason. The only thing they did is probably had little corner fires with a tight split, and we had practiced that throughout the preseason. I did think they executed well, especially in that first half.”
On why some of the Eagles blitzes were successful:
“Different things that we practiced throughout the week. Any team can overload people in the middle and you’ve got to throw hot and sometimes you get a perfect protection if you’ve got the right play call, but I was pleased with how we practiced during the week, and what we practiced during the week, at least from a blitz standpoint, is exactly what we saw. It’s very similar to what they’ve done in the past.”
On decision to start cornerback E.J. Biggers at safety:
“Anytime you play a nickelback, you could be in nickel, you can be a inime, they are interchangeable. We thought with what they did offensively we could take advantage of his speed out there, especially with the injuries that we had seen during the preseason.”
On if he is frustrated by the injury status of safety Brandon Meriweather:
“I think you are always disappointed when you’ve got a football player that you think is going to be ready and then all of the sudden he’s not. I was really pleased with Brandon going into the last preseason game. He lasted half and then all of the sudden, on that Monday, he strains his groin, so that’s always disappointing. I am hoping this week he’ll be ready to go. I know he’s ready to go. He’s been working extremely hard to put himself in position to play well. I’m just hoping this week he will be ready.”
On if the team suffered any injuries in the game:
“I don’t think there are any injuries that will keep anybody out. A couple of guys are banged up but that’s about it.”
On the improvement of wide receiver Leonard Hankerson:
“I think he needs some playing time. Like we talked about before, he’s got to have some consistency like he did last night to make those plays. I thought he did a great job in that red zone. He ran an excellent route. What a lot of people don’t see is the route’s he is running and when he doesn’t get the ball and he’s open. That’s what you are impressed with, so, it’s just not the ones he catches, it’s what he does when he’s not hit that if the quarterback had to look that way he would have been open, so that’s what’s positive about Hank.”
On if outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan will have to miss any practice:
“He was cleared to go today.”
On if early mistakes were relation to lack of preseason playing time:
On the play of tight end Jordan Reed:
“I thought Jordan, for the first game, really took advantage of his opportunities when he was in there, both in the running game and the passing game.”
On his take on the running game:
“What running game? First of all, you fall behind. Any time you have 21 plays in the first half, that’s not a lot of plays. If we play like we did in the second half, then you have got a chance to put up some pretty good numbers. At the end of the day you have to find a way to win,Debate over Denman Prospect's development continues

I was pleased with the way we came back, with the way we came out, we did some good things, except for that first turnover, and we fell a little bit short.”

On Chris Thompson’s freedom and decision making on returns:
The more experienced he gets,4.12 Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys Sale, the better he’s going to be. They had some great coverage and there were not a lot of holes there. I was pleased with his effort, but those decisions are going to have to improve.”
On how Griffin III is feeling:
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to Robert today. We graded the film and looked at it as a coaching staff. When you’re a day short, you’re on to Green Bay and they’ve got an extra day on us, so that’s what we’ve been doing.”
On kicker Kai Forbath’s improvement on kickoffs:
“He explained to me exactly what he did and I was really impressed because Kai is a very bright young man. He worked extremely hard in the offseason to increase his distance on kickoffs and you can see what the difference is. Yeah, he’s been working at it and obviously it’s helped him, and it’s going to help our coverage team out. He can explain that to you. I’m not smart enough to figure that one out.” .
