Congressman Frelinghuysen to appear at November 23 Tourette
<html>MENDHAM -- Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ11) is scheduled to appear at the 4th annual NJ Walks for TS at Mendham on Saturday, November 23, at Borough Park, the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) has announced.
Congressman Frelinghuysen will address those in attendance, expected to number 400 or more, and speak about his support of New Jersey s large, growing Tourette Syndrome community. Tourette Syndrome is an inherited, misdiagnosed, misunderstood neurological disorder characterized by involuntary sounds and movements known as tics, and affects 1 in 100 children and adults.
The Congressman s support of Tourette Syndrome is well-noted over the past several years. He has met with NJCTS and District 11 constituents affected by TS, twice signed on as a co-sponsor to the proposed Collaborative Academic Research Efforts for Tourette Syndrome Act and is a member of the Honorary Committee for NJ Walks for TS at Mendham.
One of the constituents with whom the Congressman has met is Basking Ridge resident T.J. Stanley, who was the inspiration behind the creation of NJ Walks for TS at Mendham in 2010.
"The New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome thanks Congressman Frelinghuysen fo his extensive support of the TS community, NJCTS Executive Director Faith W. Rice said. It is my hope that many of his constituents, as well as other families from all over New Jersey, join him in standing up for kids with TS by being a part of NJ Walks For TS at Mendham on November 23.

<html>NEWARK The State Board of Pharmacy,Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, within the Division of Consumer Affairs, has suspended the licenses of three pharmacists for their alleged participation in an illegal prescription drug distribution ring involving a pharmacy in Plainfield.
The multistate investigation involving federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in New Jersey, New York and Florida, began with information developed by the Enforcement Bureau within the Division of Consumer Affairs,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, said acting Attorney John J. The following pharmacists agreed to the temporary suspension of their licenses following their arrests Oct. 23: Daniel Podell, 87, of Clark; Howard Hirsh, 61, of Cranbury; and Lawrence Zaslow,4.12 The earliest of early mock drafts- Rounds 7

The three pharmacists worked at the Plainfield Pharmacy, 603 W. 4th St., Plainfield. The pharmacy is owned by Lana Wiseberg, a Florida resident. Investigators allege that pain management clinics in Florida provided prescriptions for painkillers such as oxycodone, hydromorphone and morphine sulfate to patients who had no legitimate medical need for painkillers. The patients were instructed to mail the prescriptions to the Plainfield Pharmacy and pharmacies in New York state, enclosing money orders for payment.
Investigators allege that Podell,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, Hirsh and Zaslow filled prescriptions for hundreds of thousands of addictive painkillers, knowing that the prescriptions were not for legitimate medical needs. CFL- Austin preps Ticats for Grey Cup green gauntlet
<html>"It's a community that's meant a lot to us and we have a lot of great memories there, not just on the football side but as a family," Austin said Monday. "I know we're the enemy this week, but that's OK. It's an environment that's great for the league and it will be a challenge for our players, but it's going to be great to go back and see everybody."
Austin played seven Canadian Football League seasons for the Roughriders from 1987 to '93, leading them to the 1989 championship (over the Ticats,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, no less). He returned to the city as head coach in 2007 and promptly led his team to another Grey Cup win. Those victories which represent two-thirds of the franchise's titles are a large part of the reason why a huge banner depicting Austin's playing days hangs from the facade of Mosaic Stadium, site of this year's game. Then,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, after the 2007 win, he departed to join the coaching the coaching staff of his alma mater, Ole Miss, and to be closer to his ailing mother.
"They gave a lot to me and I feel I gave a lot back as a player and as a coach," Austin said. "Sometimes things change, circumstances change. All I've tried to do with my family is try to make the best choices possible." RELATED: Austin was also mentioned as a possible head-coaching candidate before the 2012 season in both Saskatchewan and Hamilton but elected to remain as the head coach at Cornell. His decision, a year later, to come back to the CFL and join the Ticats was met with more consternation in Regina. Given his history and the immense stakes of Sunday's game Austin's position in the Roughrider pantheon will be debated endlessly all week by fans and pundits. "It's not always going to be viewed positively by everybody, I understand that. It doesn't change how I feel about the community and how I feel about that organization," Austin said. "I have nothing but the utmost respect for them and am very fond of them." Austin faced these questions back in July when the Ticats played their one and only game in Regina this season. It didn't go well for Hamilton the Ticats lost, 37-0 and it provided just a taste of what's likely to come this week. But if there's anybody uniquely qualified to prepare his players for the craziness that awaits them in Saskatchewan,4.12 MLB Cy Young Award 2013- American League

Testimony ends in decades
<html>BEAVER ― Testimony ended Wednesday on the seventh day of the Gregory Scott Hopkins homicide trial with an expert witness for the defense discussing DNA evidence.
Dr. Mark Perlin is the chief executive officer and chief scientific officer of Pittsburgh-based Cybergenetics. Perlin is also the creator of technology called TrueAllele, a computer software system that interprets DNA evidence. Perlin said the computer is able to calculate results beyond what humans are able to calculate, and it calculates without “human bias.”
Perlin receives data from crime labs, which he then interprets using his software.
Perlin was retained by the defense to review the case against Hopkins, 67, of Bridgewater, who is charged in the Sept. 1, 1979, strangulation death of Catherine Janet Walsh, 23, in her Monaca apartment.
He testified he concluded that the DNA evidence found at the scene “would tend to be exculpatory” for Hopkins.
Perlin’s tests largely confirmed what the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab analysts found. Hopkins’ DNA was on the back of Walsh’s nightgown, the rope that bound her hands and the top sheet that was covering her body when she was found. No other DNA profiles were found on those items.
Like the crime lab, Perlin’s tests also were unable to glean any DNA evidence from several items including the handkerchief found around Walsh’s neck, a sexual assault kit and Walsh’s fingernail clippings.
Perlin said that DNA could have been deposited from encounters that occurred before the day Walsh was killed. It has been established though previous testimony that Walsh and Hopkins were having a sexual relationship.
Perlin said the DNA also could have been transferred to the areas where it was found and not deposited directly there.
However, Perlin found a low number of DNA that he called a “positive association” to Walsh’s estranged husband, Scott Walsh,4.12 Gov. Scott Walker may be Chris Christie's toughest competition in 2017, on a fitted sheet. “It’s not what I would call a match,” Perlin said. He said at the numbers his test indicated, it would not be considered sufficient for the police to make an arrest.
Perlin also found a DNA profile on one area of a bathrobe found on Walsh’s bed that,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, to date,As the saying goes, “The Earl, has no known match. That’s something Perlin said is significant because it could lead to another potential suspect. He said he could not determine if that DNA came from a man or a woman.
On cross-examination, Assistant District Attorney Frank Martocci questioned how Perlin decided where to categorize evidence in his charts. Martocci said Perlin categorized the tie used to bind Walsh’s hands as clothing and did not include it in the chart of items he related to her death.
Martocci said that’s because Perlin was paid by the defense to get Hopkins as far away as possible from the items related to Walsh’s death.
Perlin said he was “paid minimally to give the most objective view,” and the rope could have been categorized as both. He said he considered an alternate hypothesis that the prosecution didn’t because two hypotheses are necessary for a scientific analysis.
“Somebody had to consider something … I have never seen a case where the alternatives were not considered,” Perlin said. “If you weren’t going to do it, I did.”
In previous testimony, investigators said at the time of Walsh’s death no one saw any visible evidence of seminal stains on Walsh or the bed where her body was found. Perlin said he would expect visible seminal stains to have been present at that time.
A serologist from the state police crime lab testified last week that seminal stains may not be visible depending on a variety of factors including the amount deposited, the type of fabric it was deposited on and the temperature of the room.
Perlin cautioned that just because DNA is present, it doesn’t mean it’s relevant to a crime. He said some DNA can be incidental or expected to be there.
Perlin criticized the lab and prosecution for failing to test multiple other,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, non-sperm areas of DNA from the scene and for failing to consider other theories. He said the non-sperm DNA could offer more evidence related to the homicide.
When questioned by Martocci, Perlin acknowledged he only handled electronic data and did not actually see any of the items of evidence, nor is he a forensic pathologist,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, and he doesn’t conduct autopsies.
Closing arguments will be presented this morning, and then the jury will begin deliberating after Beaver County Judge Harry E. Knafelc gives the jury their final instructions.</html>

The Joy Sessions were inspired by a single shoot just before Christmas in 2009. A Hospice patient named Joan who was suffering from epilepsy and didn't have much time left wanted photos with her cherished Black Labrador Retriever named Joy.
The dog was her best friend and even saved Joan's life on multiple occasions. She would let Joan know when her blood sugar was low or she was about to have a seizure.

Ernhart's pictures help owners remember their deceased pets at their best.
Joan's friend booked the memorable session with Ernhart as a gift. It inspired her to start offering her services at a special, discounted rate for people whose pets only have a limited time left.
The next month, Ernhart took pictures of a canine lover with a dying Bernese mountain dog. She knew that this service should have a name but couldn't think of one.
I wanted (the name) to be more of a celebration. I had gotten a lot of suggestions from some of my blog readers but nothing felt right, she said.

Photographer Sarah Ernhart (seen here) says she can no longer imagine a career that doesn't include Joy Sessions.
Then she realized the perfect name was hiding in plain sight. Joy Session honors Joan and celebrates the happiness animals bring into their owners' lives.
Now Ernhart tells The News that she cannot imagine her career without these poignant moments.
It's really cool to have affected someone's life in a positive way like that, she said.

Controversies afloat over Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
<html>By Verena Dobnik
Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade is awash in animal-related protests over its floats, with controversies involving the unlikely pairing of rocker Joan Jett and Shamu the killer whale. Activists plan to line the route of next week's parade in New York City to protest a SeaWorld float over accusations in a new documentary that the theme parks treat whales badly. And ranchers succeeded in getting Jett after they questioned why the vegetarian and animal-rights ally was representing their beef-loving state. The float flaps threaten to shake Macy's traditional position of staying out of politics and soaring silently above the fray, like the massive balloons of Snoopy, Kermit the Frog and SpongeBob SquarePants. "The parade has never taken on,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, promoted or otherwise engaged in social commentary, political debate or other forms of advocacy," Cincinnati-based Macy's Inc. said in a statement this week. It was in that spirit that parade executive producer Amy Kule said Tuesday that the SeaWorld float is staying. "There is no controversy," she said. "Our goal is to entertain, and that is their goal, as well." The SeaWorld float, which depicts rolling waves, tropical fish, penguins and Shamu,Former Union County vendor admits paying bribes, defrauding, comes months after the release of the documentary Blackfish, which contends that SeaWorld's poor treatment of its killer whales contributed to the aggression of a whale involved in a trainer's death. SeaWorld says the accusations have "absolutely no basis" and that "the men and women who care for these animals at SeaWorld are dedicated in every respect to their health and well-being." Activists, including members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, say they plan to stage a protest somewhere along the route during next week's parade. And the group says it has sent Macy's more than 80,000 emails from animal lovers demanding that the store drop the float. Among those joining were actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, who wrote last week that SeaWorld was a "cruel prison for whales" and that the parks "should not be celebrated with a giant Shamu float parading down 34th Street." Kenneth Sherrill, professor emeritus of political science at Manhattan's Hunter College and a longtime parade watcher, says the SeaWorld controversy puts Macy's in a tough spot. "It's damned if they do, damned if they don't," Sherrill said. "Macy's is making a statement. If there's a political conflict, saying `I'm not getting involved' means you're supporting the status quo." PETA also is connected to the float controversy involving Jett, an animal-rights vegetarian who works with the organization. She was scheduled to sing atop South Dakota's tourism float until an outcry from the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association, which said it made no sense to feature an artist who is critical of the state's top economic sector. Macy's found a solution: The I Love Rock 'n' Roll singer and her Blackhearts band are being moved to a different float as yet to be announced. A parade spokesman said it made the move so attention isn't diverted from the "entertainment mission" of the event,4.12 Frances J. Sorts, which also features Carrie Underwood,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, Jimmy Fallon, the Radio City Rockettes and the cast members of the reality show "Duck Dynasty." The parade has gone on through previous controversies. In 2011, Tim Burton's "B. Boy" balloon took flight despite critics labeling it "creepy" for its depiction of a snaggle-toothed boy made out of old party balloons. And last year, Elmo's appearance followed sexual abuse charges against long-time puppeteer Kevin Clash, whose recorded voice was heard on a float. That parade also included confetti made from shredded New York City police documents. AP</html>

<html>Paula Bennett has sent a message from National to Conservative Party leader Colin Craig: if you contest the electorate of Upper Harbour,4.12 Franklin convenience store owner from South Brunswick charge,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, I'll eat you alive.
It is the first of what may be some complex maneuvering, as the new electoral boundaries that 3 News revealed last night,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, were today confirmed.
Ms Bennett's intention to stand in Upper Harbour means there will be no deal between the National Party and Mr Craig in the seat. That means a National-Conservatives deal is more likely in another seat - .
Ms Bennett's Waitakere seat has been restructured in today's and becomes Kelston - a safe Labour seat.
She confirmed she would seek election in Upper Harbour electorate,4.12 , but her focus will remain in west Auckland.
"We'll be running a strong campaign for National in Upper Harbour and west Auckland and I am seriously up for it.
"I have lived in Upper Harbour and have a real affinity for the area so it feels like a great fit."
She says it is important to clear up speculation about the proposed changes "and be upfront with the public".
That speculation was about Upper Harbour being the new Epsom and be gifted to Mr Craig,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, but Ms Bennett's decision to stand there shows National's strategists have decided against it.
Ms Bennett is one of National 's best performers and would not be put in a seat to lose like Paul Goldsmith in Epsom at the last election.
It means the more likely scenario is a deal in East Coast Bays - Mr McCully goes onto the National list, and weak candidate is put up with a nod given to National voters to vote for Mr Craig.

Miami Dolphins- Week 12 Playoff Race Scoreboard Watching Gui
<html>Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports
The??enter Week 12 tied with the??for the AFC s final playoff spot. The Jets currently own the tiebreaker over the Dolphins given their superior record within the AFC East, and there are six 4-6 teams that sit only one game back in the race.
Miami need only focus on its current opponent with a one-game-at-a-time mentality, but fans will undoubtedly be doing some serious scoreboard watching for the duration of the season or until the final Wild Card spot is decided.
From now until either scenario comes to fruition, I ll be doing a weekly scoreboard watching guide that will feature which games Dolphins fans should monitor and which teams they should be rooting for as the playoff race intensifies. Here s the slate for Week 12:
New York Jets (5-5) at (4-6)
The Dolphins won t need to worry about the Jets if they can beat them twice in December. Rex Ryan s squad will be difficult to sweep, though, and there s a good chance the Jets will hang on to the tiebreaker if they split with the Dolphins and end the season with the same record. Miami will need the Ravens to play poorly down the stretch as well,4.12 Most expensive art, as they lost at home to Baltimore back in Week 5,4.12 Bruins Reach Season’s Quarter Pole Right Where They Want to Be Among NHL’s Best Teams,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, surrendering a potential head-to-head tiebreaker. On Sunday, however, Dolphins fans should hope their archival loses back-to-back games for the first time all season. Really, though, this is a win-win, lose-lose game to the Dolphins.
Root for: Baltimore
(4-6) at (4-6)
The Dolphins own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Browns after beating them in Week 1 and will get the opportunity to best the Steelers in Week 14. In the event Miami falls in Pittsburgh, however, the Dolphins would benefit from a Steelers loss in Cleveland on Sunday. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers are much more capable than the Browns of making a late-season run, and the schedule is setting up nicely for them to do so.
Root for: Cleveland
(4-6) at (9-1)
The Chargers fell to two games under .500 with a loss to the Dolphins this past Sunday,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, but Philip Rivers is still more than capable of getting San Diego rolling in the final weeks of the season. A loss on Sunday to the Chiefs would all but eliminate them from the playoff race, though.
Root for: Kansas City
(4-6) at (4-6)
Neither the Titans or Raiders appear to be too threatening to the Dolphins bid to qualify for the postseason as the six seed. The sooner both teams stop hanging around the better, though. After Sunday s matchup with the Titans, the Raiders only face one more team that currently owns a losing record. The losses should begin to pile up for them down the stretch. The Titans, meanwhile, have a stingy defense capable of keeping them competitive against most teams. Tennessee is the bigger threat, and Dolphins fans should root against them on Sunday.
Root for: Oakland
(9-1) at (7-3)
The Dolphins are in prime position to compete for the six seed in the AFC, but don t forget they are only two games back in the race for the AFC East crown. The Patriots could easily lose their second consecutive game on Sunday night against what is perhaps the s top team,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, and if the Dolphins can find a way to upset the Panthers they could pull within one game of their division rival. N.Y. man charged with killing elusive rape suspect
<html>SPARROWBUSH, N.Y. David Carlson?s attempt to help corral a fugitive rape suspect has led to him fighting a murder charge. But his supporters say he?s more a victim than vigilante.
Carlson is accused of firing his shotgun twice at Norris Acosta-Sanchez as they walked along the wooded road where Carlson lives with his wife and three sons near the Pennsylvania border. Carlson claims he was escorting Acosta-Sanchez at gunpoint so a neighbor could call police.
A jury could consider the charges against Carlson next year, though many in this rural corner have already made up their minds.
?He?s not anybody who would kill anybody,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, ever. It had to be an extremely bad moment. It had to be,? said neighbor Judy Metzroth, who put up her house for the 42-year-old union carpenter?s $100,000 bail bond after he was indicted last month.
Acosta-Sanchez, 35, was charged in neighboring Rockland County this summer with statutory rape of a teenage girl and had been staying at the summer cabin by the Carlsons? home,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, apparently unbeknownst to the cabin?s owner. Family and friends say Acosta-Sanchez had earlier visited the cabin 65 miles northwest of New York City with other enthusiasts of the Russian spiritualist George Gurdjieff. They said he was born in Spain, moved to the United States when he was young and was working toward his U.S. citizenship. They described him as a smart, charismatic and capable man who attended college in Manhattan and lived in Paris, Madrid and Tel Aviv. But they say he also say he had trouble focusing on a path as an adult.
?He was a great guy. I loved my brother, but he was a little lost,? said Dianela Acosta.
Carlson would not talk about his case with The Associated Press on the advice of his lawyers, but he had earlier told the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that Acosta-Sanchez had befriended his family in August. He initially told them his name was Daniel but later confessed he was a wanted man.
Carlson told police, who enlisted him in a plan to catch Acosta-Sanchez. Carlson would give Acosta-Sanchez a lift in his car, which would be pulled over by police. Officers failed to pull over Carlson?s car on a first attempt. That gambit worked the next day, Oct. 9, but Acosta-Sanchez fled after police let him go back to the cabin to get his wallet, according to Carlson?s lawyer, Benjamin Ostrer. Police in the Town of Deerpark declined to comment.
Acosta-Sanchez proved difficult to catch the next day, reportedly swimming across the nearby Rio Reservoir to escape police.
Locals were on edge.
A day later, Acosta-Sanchez was dead.
Details of what happened that Friday morning remain undisclosed because of the criminal case or are in dispute.
Ostrer said an agitated Acosta-Sanchez showed up at Carlson?s home. Carlson came out with his shotgun, and the two men began walking to a neighbor?s house. One neighbor?s security video shows the two figures walking briskly down the road, single file.
Carlson fired his first two shots into the ground to warn neighbors, Ostrer said. Prosecutors say Carlson shot Acosta-Sanchez in the arm and then the head.
Supporters say Carlson acted in self-defense, arguing if he had intended to kill Acosta-Sanchez, he wouldn?t have fired warning shots or walked him down the road in the remote area with no cell service. Grand jury witness and neighbor Carmine Ferrara said, ?What I saw happening wasn?t a murder? but would not comment further because of the criminal case.
?It?s unfortunate that some have mischaracterized my client?s conduct as vigilantism,? Ostrer said. ?His repeated efforts to assist the police are undisputable evidence to the contrary.?
Daniela Acosta said her brother was scared and confused. She questions the claim Carlson acted in self-defense.
?He pulled the trigger, twice. I don?t know what this man was thinking,4.12 Kelly Clarkson announces she’s pregnant with first child wi,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys,? she said.
The grand jury indictment against Carlson includes a top charge of second-degree murder, but it also includes options for a jury to consider lesser charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
There are many who believe Carlson did nothing criminal. The ?Free David Carlson? Facebook page has more than 1,4.12 Chris Brown out of rehab but continuing anger mana,000 likes, a website raising funds for his defense has raised $4,500 and the case has garnered attention on websites advocating gun rights and conservative politics. One typical Web headline: Hero Father Charged With Murder for Shooting Rape Suspect.
Carlson said people will sometimes recognize him when he?s out at the store, and he?s never heard a negative response.
?I?m holding up pretty well,? he said. ?I have to for my kids.?

Jessie James and Eric Decker remain America s most fun celebrity couple.
James and Decker and had a reality TV show on E! come out shortly thereafter. Right around the time of their wedding, they must have conceived,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, because James is currently 5-6 months pregnant with what will be their first child. She s also definitely showing a nice baby bump now that she s getting further along in the process.

He has 54 catches for 792 yards and three touchdowns this season. Though his yardage total is second on the team, he s well behind Julius Thomas, DeMaryius Thomas and Wes Welker, who have combined for 28 touchdown catches. He s still one of the key pieces in the Broncos outstanding air attack.
But like I said before, the two remain the most fun celebrity couple in the country. In addition to being gorgeous, James is absolutely hilarious and constantly makes jokes filled with sexual innuendos. There was the time she on the field, and then this week she shared on Instagram a video of her cutting short a sausage fest.
Here s how that video looked:
Typical James. But if you think she s the only one with looks in the couple, think again. Decker was as one of the sexiest men alive.

Cowboys snap Giants' four
<html>EAST RUTHERFORD There was a reason to believe once a determined Giants defense regrouped and helped a desperate team win four in row. One more timely stop might?ve kept the run alive, but Tony Romo refused to yield. The pass rush fizzled. The coverage broke down. Dan Bailey kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired to give the Dallas Cowboys a 24-21 win over the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium after Romo converted three times on third down. The Cowboys? victory all but guaranteed that one of their most-hated NFC East rivals would be watching the playoffs in six weeks. Only the eternal optimists will be scoreboard watching from this point on. ?The mindset now is we?ve got to win five (games),? Giants quarterback Eli Manning said. ?We don?t know if that?s going to be enough, but it?s the only way.? A difficult schedule might very well prevent another winning streak. Dallas and Philadelphia are both 6-5 and lead the division by two games. Both are done playing the Giants, who go to Washington next week with a 4-7 record. A trip across the country to San Diego follows, and then Seattle comes here. Next is a game in Detroit followed by a visit by the Redskins. ?We have a five-game schedule left,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys,? head coach Tom Coughlin said. ?Every game is critical. ... Let?s go win five games and let?s give ourselves a chance to hold our heads up high.? After struggling to connect down the field with his receivers most of the game, Manning seemed on the verge of choreographing another fourth-quarter comeback. He exited the pocket and bought enough time for Louis Murphy to get open in the corner of the end zone with 4:53 left to play. Andre Brown, who carried 21 times for 127 yards, then exploited a seam up the middle on a two-point conversion try and knotted the score,4.12 L.A. sheriff cuts ties with pastor over claims he owns marijuana dispensary, 21-21. Bring on the defense. It was a big moment, and the Giants played like the inept group that surrendered 31.5 points a game during the losing streak. Romo connected with Dez Bryant for 19 yards on third-and-7 from the Cowboys? 23 to keep the drive on track. And they hooked up again for 8 yards on third-and-5 from the Dallas 47. Romo found Cole Beasley for 13 yards on third-and-10 from the Giants? 28 later in the drive. ?The effort was good,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys,4.12 ,? Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said. ?We just didn?t execute as good as we did in previous weeks.? An injury to cornerback Trumaine McBride proved costly. ?He had a reoccurrence of a groin strain,? Coughlin said. ?He tried to go back out. ? It did hurt us because you see the shuffling around that had to take place to get the proper alignment to try and defend their three- and four-wide passing.? And there wasn?t much help from the guys up front. Romo was 1-for-8 on third-down conversions prior to the final drive,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, and he wasn?t hurried in the least. ?There?s no doubt about it that it hurts,? said Antrel Rolle, who had the unenviable task of shadowing Bryant late in the game. ?I think there were a couple of times where we were right there, and I know a couple of times on Dez I was in perfect coverage and Tony was able to just put the ball in the right places.?</html>
Bill Belichick makes decision to take wind to start Patriots
<html>Overtime starts with a coin flip. The Patriots won the coin flip.
Since Foxboro has been pounded with 20-plus mile-an-hour winds all night, Bill Belichick made the shocking decision to have his team defend with the wind instead of taking the ball -- even though a team that gets the ball first in overtime can win the game with a touchdown.
As soon as Belichick made the call, it was obvious he'd either be pilloried or praised for the decision. Giving the ball away gave the Pats a major disadvantage, but if they were able to get a stop on their first drive. It could pay off, since a field goal could end the game, and his team's punts would be much more successful then the Broncos. Kicking the ball into a huge wind is, um,4.12 Forecast growth in generic dr, a lot harder than kicking with it.
The Broncos wouldn't score on their first drive, and in overtime,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, a punt would bounce into Denver gunner Tony Carter:
Did the wind have an effect on the punt? Who knows, but maybe Belichick is a mad scientist.
Everybody's minds immediately went to Marty Mornhinweg,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys,4.12 , who famously took the wind for the Detroit Lions before the Bears took the ball down the field. . Of course, the rules are different now -- you can't win with a field goal to start OT -- but that would seem to only make Belichick's decision less wise. Right?
And of course,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, because the world is weird:
Wow. RT : That is insanity. RT : Marty Mornhinweg chose the wind in overtime 11 years ago today.

A nuclear end to denial
<html>Those who lament the Senate Democrats' vote to end filibusters for presidential nominations say the move will escalate partisan warfare and destroy what comity is left in Congress. Some also charge hypocrisy, since Democrats once opposed the very step they took last week.
In fact,4.12 Madoff investors get access t, seeing the world as it is rather than pining for a world that no longer exists is a precondition for reducing polarization down the road. With their dramatic decision, Senate Democrats have frankly acknowledged that the power struggle over the judiciary has reached a crisis point and that the nature of conservative opposition to President Obama is genuinely without precedent.
What happened on Nuclear Thursday has more to do with the rise of an activist conservative judiciary than with the norms of the Senate. From the moment that five conservative justices issued their ruling in Bush v. Gore, liberals and Democrats realized they were up against forces willing to achieve their purposes by using power at every level of government. When the Bush v. Gore majority insisted that the principles invoked to decide the 2000 election in George W. Bush's favor could not be used in any other case, they effectively admitted their opportunism. Dec. 12, 2000,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, led inexorably to Nov. 21,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, 2013.
Bush v. Gore set in motion what liberals see as a pernicious feedback loop. By giving the presidency to a conservative, the five right-of-center justices guaranteed that for at least four years (and what turned out to be eight), the judiciary would be tilted even further in a conservative direction.
Bush was highly disciplined in naming as many conservative judges as he could. His appointments of Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito bolstered the Supreme Court's conservative majority. The court later rendered such decisions as Citizens United, which tore down barriers to big money in politics, and Shelby County v. Holder, which gutted a key part of the Voting Rights Act. Both, in turn, had the effect of strengthening the electoral hand of conservatives and Republicans.
With the conservatives' offensive as the backdrop, Senate Democrats and liberals on the outside revolted in 2005 against the Republican threat to use the nuclear option when the GOP controlled the Senate. Progressives felt they had no choice but to throw sand into the gears of a juggernaut.
Liberals said things eight years ago that are being used by conservatives to accuse them of hypocrisy now. I didn't have to look far for an example of what they're talking about.
In a column in March of 2005,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, I called the GOP's effort to speed the confirmation of conservative judges "a blatant effort to twist the rules" that ignored "the traditions of the Senate." I might take back the "traditions of the Senate" line, a rhetorical attempt to call conservatism's bluff. But what animated my argument then is the same concern I have now: This era's conservatives will use any means at their disposal to win control of the courts. Their goal is to do all they can to limit Congress' ability to enact social reforms. At the same time, they are pushing for measures -- notably restrictions on the right to vote -- that alter the electoral terrain in their favor.
And it is simply undeniable that in the Obama years, conservatives have abused the filibuster in ways that liberals never dreamed of. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid cited the Congressional Research Service's finding that in our history, there have been 168 cloture motions filed on presidential nominations. Nearly half of them -- 82 -- happened under Obama. According to CRS,4.12 Wisconsin Supreme Court considers stay in Act 10 c, of the 67 cloture motions on judicial nominees since 1967, 31 occurred under Obama.
Republicans gave the game away when all but a few of them opposed Obama's three most recent appointments to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals not on the merits but by accusing the president of trying to "pack the court." In fact, Obama was simply making appointments he was constitutionally and legislatively authorized to make. His nominees were being filibustered because they might alter the circuit court's philosophical balance. The GOP thus demonstrated beyond any doubt that it cares far more about maintaining conservative influence on the nation's second most important judicial body than in observing the rules and customs of the Senate.
This is why the Senate Democrats' action will, in the end, be constructive. The first step toward resolving a power struggle is to recognize it for what it is. The era of denial is finally over.

Rangers' road win streak ends at six with shutout loss in Ta
<html>TAMPA, Fla. - Rangers coach Alain Vigneault didn't pull any punches, even though it appears he thinks his team did in a 5-0 loss to the Lightning at the Tampa Bay Times Forum Monday night.
Vigneault called the loss a big no-hitter -- as in the lack of hits his players put on the Lightning.
Tampa Bay honored star Martin St. Louis before the game for becoming the 286th man to play in 1,000 NHL games. St. Louis had two goals and an assist and didn't draw enough attention from the Rangers to suit Vigneault.
Obviously, it was a sort of Martin St. Louis lovefest out there, Vigneault said. Nobody touched a soul, and especially not him.
The Lightning came out flying,4.12 Cheap Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys, scoring twice in the first 3:10, and Vigneault pulled Henrik Lundqvist with the Rangers trailing 4-0 after two periods.
It had nothing to do with him, Vigneault said. We didn't even give him a goal. Just to change the momentum a little bit.
The Rangers (12-12-0) could have been due for a setback after six straight road victories, including the first two games of this five-game holiday sojourn.
The Rangers had given up two or fewer goals in six straight games. Tampa Bay (15-8-1) was coming off an 0-3-1 road trip in which it was outscored 17-6 and had the emotion of the St. Louis ceremony,4.12 Grand Jury indicts two owners,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, which included an appearance by current Ranger Brad Richards and a taped tribute from former Lightning and Rangers coach John Tortorella.
Lundqvist, who made 41 saves in his last outing in a 3-2 victory Thursday in Dallas, quickly fell behind 2-0 Monday night.
Nikita Kucherov scored his first goal in his first NHL game 2:12 into the contest with a shot past a screened Lundqvist.
Seconds later,4.12 , the Rangers' Derek Dorsett dropped the gloves with Tampa Bay's Pierre-Cedric Labrie. It was a clear victory for Labrie and the second time in two games that Dorsett has been knocked down during a fight.
St. Louis made it 2-0 by getting past Marc Staal,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, skating in alone on Lundqvist and scoring at 3:10.
We didn't play that bad, Lundqvist said. We made a few mistakes and they made us pay for it. I wasn't able to come up with the saves there. I think Marty had a great night. To stop him on a breakaway -- I think he's one of the best guys in the league. For me, I need to have better timing.
The Rangers actually outshot the Lightning 37-25, but goalie Ben Bishop kept them off the board with a pair of super saves late in the opening period and the Lightning killed off a key five-on-three in the second.
St. Louis scored his second goal 3:12 into the second to make it 3-0. Again, he slipped past Rangers defenders and swooped in alone on Lundqvist.
Hard-working Rick Nash drew a pair of penalties after that, giving the Rangers a five-on-three for 1:02. But they were unable to generate any heat on Bishop and ended up on the penalty kill themselves when Staal went off for interference at 9:01.
Teddy Purcell beat Lundqvist high glove-side with 3:08 left in the period to make it 4-0 and then slipped a garbage-time goal past Cam Talbot at 18:59 of the third. Purcell also had an assist.</html>

Tyler's taking me to a whole new level. I never dreamed I'd be doing this stuff. I hate the cold weather, so Tyler's taking me places that I never thought I'd be going to, he gushed.
When Tyler was asked what his next hopeful climb will be after ticking Aconcagua off his list, he answered: Mount McKinley in Alaska.

Immigrant tuition bill will go to Christie 'as is'
<html>TRENTON The New Jersey Legislature plans to send Gov. Chris Christie an immigrant tuition bill without amending it to reflect the changes he wants.
Christie said Monday he would not sign the bill that passed the Senate because its benefits are too generous. He said the measure contains a loophole that could make New Jersey a magnet for students who are in the country illegally and seeking a more affordable college education.
Senate leaders said Tuesday they have no plans to change the bill. Assemblyman Gordon Johnson,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, sponsor of a similar bill in the Assembly, said he?ll amend his version to include a provision enabling students who are in the country illegally to receive financial aid, which matches the Senate bill. He is also considering an additional amendment that would protect the value of Tuition Aid Grants,4.12 'Frozen,' movie review, which the Senate bill does not address.
?That?s the right bill to move,? said Johnson, a Democrat from Bergen County. ?If he rejects it, then he?s going to have to explain his broken promise to the young New Jerseyans and families who need tuition equality.?
The bill lets students who are in the country illegally but graduate from a New Jersey high school pay the cheaper in-state tuition at state colleges, saving them thousands of dollars per semester. It also permits them to receive financial aid if qualified. The federal Dream Act would provide a path to permanent residency through higher education and military service for those who arrived in the United States illegally as minors. California and Texas are among the 13 states with versions of tuition-equity on the books.
Christie said he supported the Dream Act-style legislation while campaigning for re-election, a position that helped him win 50 percent of the Hispanic vote on Nov. 5. The bill has wide support among Hispanics and blacks, groups the Republican governor has been courting ahead of a possible 2016 presidential bid.
But,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, on a monthly call-in radio program on Monday,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, Christie said he would not sign the bill unless changes are made.

One involves eliminating a loophole that would allow immigrant students from other states who attend boarding schools in New Jersey to qualify for in-state tuition at state colleges and universities. The exact number of such students is unknown,4.12 Immigrant tuition bill will g, though it is probably small.
?They?ve got time to fix between now and Jan. 14, and I hope they will,? Christie said Townsquare Media?s ?Ask the Governor.? ??If they do, I will (sign it), if they don?t I won?t.?
Milly Silva, who ran for lieutenant governor on the Democratic ticket opposing Christie and is of Puerto Rican descent, criticized him for ?reneging? on the pre-election commitment he made to Latinos.
?It is outrageous to use young students as political footballs to further one?s presidential ambitions,? she said in a statement.
Senate President Stephen Sweeney expressed a similar view.
?The governor never misses an opportunity to disappoint,? the Democrat said. ?When he was running for governor, he supported it. Now that he is running for president, he does not.?
Christie was traveling out of state, and spokesman Colin Reed said the governor?s office wouldn?t comment beyond what Christie said on the radio.

Interview with Cameron McCormick, swing coach to Jordan Spie
<html>One of the big stories in golf this year was the arrival of Jordan Spieth, a former junior wunderkind who played his way onto the PGA Tour and into the top 25 in the World Ranking despite starting the year with no status on Tour. He had to play in a qualifier just to get into the qualifier to get into the early-season Farmers Insurance Open.
Spieth was a U.S. Junior Amateur champion and, you may recall, played his way into contention twice as a local Dallas amateur invited to compete in the Byron Nelson Championship. He went on to the University of Texas, where he led the Longhorns to an NCAA championship as a freshman. Early in his sophomore season he decided to turn pro, but he didn t make it through Q-school.
You know the rest. Spieth took advantage of some sponsor s exemptions and played exceptionally well. He finished second in Puerto Rico, seventh at Tampa, ninth at Harbour Town and went on quite a spree during the summer. He won the John Deere Classic in a playoff after holing out an unlikely bunker shot on the 72nd hole. He competed for the U.S. team in the Presidents Cup. He s already a star at 20,4.12 Rob Ford controversy surfaces at Remembrance Day c, casting a spotlight on not only himself but also his instructor, Cameron McCormick, an Australian who d already been building a solid reputation in the Dallas area before Spieth fell into his lap.
Here are some highlights of my recent interview with McCormick about his teaching methods and, of course, his star pupil:
Gary Van Sickle: Tell me about your career as a pro golfer.
Cameron McCormick: My career as a fabulous golfer was nonexistent. I graduated from Texas Tech in 1997 and spent two years trying to play. I went to Q-school twice in Australia and didn t make it through. I didn t make enough money to justify pursuing it. It didn t work out. I was chasing that dream for a few years and I ran out of money.
Did you think you were good enough?
Parts of my game were good enough. I was hoping it would come together. I didn t have a coach. That was hard. It was tough to analyze what my skills were and what they needed to be.
If you could go back in time and coach yourself, what would you work on?
I d have myself be far less focused on mechanics. I started golf very late, at 15 years old I got quite good, really good, through my two junior college years -- good enough so Texas Tech offered me a golf scholarship. I went there and honestly got distracted by the environment. I was an introvert in Australia and focused on what I wanted to achieve in life versus girls and having fun, and Texas Tech changed that for me. I might sound regretful but I m really not. It was the novelty of having an Australian on campus and being somewhat unique, I guess.
Girls dig an accent?
Yeah, they certainly do. I was unique in Lubbock and I was unique in a small rural town outside of Wichita. Then for some reason I got absorbed in technical pursuit. Maybe it was because Nick Faldo and Greg Norman were prominent at the time. Without a coach telling me those things aren t necessarily important, I got absorbed. I couldn t see past the technique to the critical mass, which is, skills trump style. That s what I d tell myself. I was a very good ball-control player but at Texas Tech, I thought, Gosh, I need to improve my technique to compete with these guys.
How did you transition from playing to teaching?
I got a job as a shop assistant at a local Dallas club that had an Arnold Palmer Golf Academy. That was a good window into the possibility of the lifestyle.
Did you learn from watching the teachers there?
Yes. After 18 months, a job came open at a private club, Dallas Country Club, one of the best clubs in town. I started teaching a lot at Dallas C.C. I d do 40 hours a week in the shop and another 15 to 25 hours a week teaching. It was a quick trial by fire on what works and what doesn t work and do I like to do this? And I did. I got some good word of mouth and some good results. I was there three and a half years. Brook Hollow, a similar club a few miles down the road, was hiring an assistant-in the fall of 2003, I became a full-time teaching pro. When I turned 30, I wrote renowned teachers in golf and asked, Would you mind if I came and watched you work? I wrote Butch Harmon and David Leadbetter and Randy Smith and others. Over the course of six months, I traveled around the country and observed these great coaches and gained an appreciation of what makes them great.
What did you learn?
There were three lessons. The first was validation and confirmation that it s a lot about training skills versus training styles. The second was communication and relationships are paramount. They shouldn t be overlooked. If all you re doing is textbooks about how to swing, you don t develop the social skills to interact with players. And then you won t develop the notoriety and the clientele and the repeat business that you get from being a successful communicator and coach. The last thing was you must be able to coach players up to a greater level of performance to capture a wider audience. Being around Butch Harmon, I realized people came to him because he helped people who were already great players. Unless I coached players who were already AJGA All-Americans, I wasn t going to attract other All-Americans. You need to get mentioned on the Golf Channel or get published in a monthly golf magazine or something.
Were you apprehensive that you wouldn t get responses?
Oh, sure. I sent them out to the top 75 coaches in the country and I got 25 or 30 responses. Out of those 25 or 30 responses, I got 10 or 15 affirmatives that you can come watch, with stipulations. Some of them respectfully declined, which I totally understood. The most surprising was Butch. He said, Absolutely, come on down, spend a couple of days, and I did. He was fantastic.
At what point did you realize teaching was what you wanted to do and you were good at it?
That was in early 2002, soon after I started at Dallas C.C. and worked with some high school players from Highland Park. It was my first exposure coaching youth who were goal-oriented -- they wanted to go to college and potentially play beyond college. As my wife puts it, that s what makes my heart sing. That s when I knew what I wanted to do. I went to Brook Hollow and still had Highland Park players under my guidance, then began to expand. One day I got a call from a guy who said, Hi, I m Shawn Spieth. His son, Jordan, was 12 and hadn t had formal instruction outside of some advice from a local pro, and group lessons. We met in July of 2005 and Jordan told me he d shot 62 in an event. I thought, wow, he s got the skills but the style is interesting. He was one-dimensional, with a mostly right-to-left shot. I took him to the back tees at Brook Hollow.
We played six or seven holes. In conjunction with that I put three balls down around three greens and said, I m going to put some pressure on your short game. It s a form of skill-testing. Par on these holes is two, I said. If you score 21 or better, that s three over, and I ll buy you a hat.
We get to the final hole and he s four over par on our short-game contest. So he s behind the eight ball -- he s got to hole one and get the other two up and down. I put the first ball in a medium difficult location and he chips the sucker in. Now he s three over. I put the next one in a little more difficult situation because he knows he s got the hat in hand. He chips that one to a foot. I m under the screws-I need to make it tough. So I give him a flop shot downhill to a green that s running away from him. He holes the sucker again and finishes at two over.
That was the second are-you-kidding-me moment. The first was when I found out he shot 62 as a 12-year-old.
Were you excited to uncover this talent or nervous about whether you were ready to teach such a talent?
That s an insightful question. I was excited and had a little trepidation -- what if I go about changing his style and he doesn t hit it as well? I could destroy this ultra-talent. I went to Jerry Smith, the Brook Hollow head pro and my mentor, and explained the situation. His advice was, Whatever you do, do it confidently and see it through in such a confident manner that you have no doubt that the athlete and the parent will have no doubt. With a very special player, it s a challenge. I needed the reassurance. After the lesson, I sent his dad an email and said I d love to help him. I suggested we get together after his summer schedule and sent him some changes we d go through to turn Jordan into a better ball-striker and a better putter. He was a poor putter back then, quite frankly.
Fast-forward to when Jordan was 16 and playing in the Byron Nelson. Even then he had the skills-the ball control, the putting and short game skills to win a PGA Tour event. The validation of that was how well he played, finishing 16th. He wasn t ready, psychologically or emotionally, to win, but he certainly was of the mindset that he could compete.
How did Jordan improve his putting?
He d been putting conventional. When he puts his right hand on the club, he wants to get his right arm and right shoulder closer to the ball so he gets his shoulder tilted on a line to the left. Throughout the range of a full swing, given the range of rotation, you can make up for that pretty easily. But within the range of a very short putting stroke without much trunk rotation, you can t. So he d create this leftward path with the putter and he d have to open the putter-face to get the ball started on line and it therefore influenced his speed control. I tried to battle with his conventional stroke and adjust his alignment and it wasn t taking. One day he came in and said, I just switched to cross-handed and I love it. So he made the choice. It got his shoulders and arms in alignment.
The week before every tournament,4.12 Turnovers, inexperience doom Hawks against Pirates, we work on target training-sets of ten balls, with 9-, 7-, 5-iron, hybrid, driver, or even-numbered clubs. He has to stay on the range until he meets certain standards, like a field-goal kicker having to kick it through the uprights. Jordan would have to hit nine out of ten 9-iron shots within a 30-foot wide area, all solid contact. Prior to his event, then, his mind would gear back into ball-control, shot shape and target, and fade away from technique. Same with the putter; he became a great putter with the style change and then training the skills correctly.
What adjustments did you make as he got older and bigger?
We had to be patient and wait for him to grow into that size. He was 15, he d just won the U.S. Junior, and we talked about the offseason. I said,4.12 Cheap Custom New York Giants Jerseys, Jordan, here s what I want you to do, but this will be a whole lot easier if in doing this, you re strong enough to support what I m asking you do to. That winter he got involved in physical training. So the Byron Nelson came around that spring and he d been working out. He became a big, strong, strapping kid. He put on some pounds and gained some speed. He hit it farther and could control it better.
To many of us Jordan seems like an overnight sensation.
The tree has grown its roots really deep. It started at 12 with me, but I d trace it all the way back to his parents when he was 3 and got potty trained with plastic golf clubs. He loved to hit whiffle balls with these clubs. He d say, I want to play golf. His mom would put them on a shelf or on top of the laundry machine and say,4.12 Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys, Jordan, you get your golf clubs when you go potty. That s how he became potty trained. His mom says he d stay out there until dark hitting those plastic balls around.
His parents let him play other sports. He was interested in being a great pitcher like his dad. At some point, he started to identify more with being a golfer. He didn t consider he played full-time golf until he was nine.
What kind of maintenance does he need?
I m proud of the fact that he s developed into a very self-sufficient player. A player who has self-awareness -- what s my body feel like, what does the club feel like and what does the contact feel like-can create a change that allows him to play. Sometimes, he ll have his caddie shoot video on the range. Sometimes, he ll email me a video. I went to PGA Championship. He prepared great, took the week before off,4.12 Custom New York Giants NFL Jerseys, but he didn t play well. He missed the cut and said, I m going to play Wyndham next week. Can I get some time? I said, Sure, but we re not going to the range, we re going to play. I said, What I saw out there translated to performing on the course. We played 18 on Sunday of the PGA Championship and he shot 64 or 65 at Brook Hollow, had great ball control with only a small alignment tweak. The course is closed Monday, but I have the luxury of taking a few people out there. He shoots 29 on the front. I said, Jordan, this is affirmation for you that things were in place and you didn t need much more than validation to set your mind free to play golf. And then he went to Wyndham and lost in a playoff to Patrick Reed.
I ll go to four or five PGA Tour events next year, and I see Jordan every week he comes home, but he doesn t require much of an overhaul.
