Commercial real estate could be taken up by you for sometimes reselling after appreciation or for renting out to, say, merchants. The commercial real estate development is actually treated as the first sign for growth of residential real estate. When you know of the chance of significant commercial development in the region (often due to tax breaks or whatever), you should begin evaluating the potential for appreciation in the prices of commercial real-estate and then go for it quickly (the moment you find a good deal). And you need to really work at obtaining a great deal. If you find that commercial real estate, e.g. Area, comes in large chunks which are too expensive for you to buy, you could look at creating a small individual group (along with your friends) and buy it together (and split the gains later).
