Badak Sumatera Tertangkap Kamera Di Kalimantan
[ Kalimantan], [ Sigmanews].co.id - Kamera tersembunyi telah menangkap gambar dari badak Sumatera yang terancam punah di pulau Kalimantan. Sebelumnya, oleh World Wildlife Fund for Natures (WWF), hewan ini dianggap telah lama mati.
Dilansir oleh Telegraph, Enam belas kamera perangkap yang dilengkapi dengan sensor gerak yang sering digunakan dalam penelitian ekologi ini merekam badak yang sedang berjalan melalui hutan dan berkubang dalam lumpur di Kutai Barat, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur.
Video yang direkam pada tanggal 23 Juni, 30 Juni dan 3 Agustus ini diyakini dapat menunjukkan badak yang berbeda, meskipun WWF mengatakan konfirmasi ini akan memerlukan studi lebih lanjut.
Dulu, ada satu badak Sumatera yang ditemukan di Kalimantan, tetapi jumlah mereka menyusut drastis dan mereka dianggap hanya terdapat di Malaysia.

Sumatran Rhino Caught On Camera In Kalimantan
[ Kalimantan], <a href"www.sigmanews</a>.us"> Sigmanews.us - Hidden cameras have captured images of the critically endangered Sumatran rhino on the Indonesian part of Borneo island, where it was thought to have long ago died out, according to the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF).
Reported by Telegraph, sixteen camera traps -- remote-controlled cameras with motion sensors frequently used in ecological research - filmed the rhino walking through the forest and wallowing in mud in Kutai Barat, East Kalimantan province.
The footage, filmed on June 23, June 30 and August 3, is believed to show different rhinos although the WWF said confirmation of this will require further study.
There were once Sumatran rhinos all over Borneo but their numbers have dwindled dramatically and they were thought to now exist only on the Malaysian part of the island.
But the research disclosed Wednesday, a joint effort between the WWF and authorities in Kutai Barat, shows that the animal is still present on the Indonesian side of Borneo. (Dean)

Iran Kembali Kirim Monyet Dalam Penerbangan Luar Angkasa
Iran, [ Sigmanews].co.id - Setelah bulan Januari lalu [ Iran berhasil mengirimkan monyet ke luar angkasa], Iran kembali berencana akan mengirimkan monyet kedua pada bulan November mendatang.
Seperti dikutip dari dailymail, Rabu (16/10), Kepala Badan Antariksa Iran, Hamid Fazeli, tujuan Iran mengirimkan hewan-hewan ke luar angkasa merupakan uji coba sebelum Iran benar-benar mengirim manusia ke luar angkasa pada tahun 2018 mendatang.
?Astronot hewan sangat penting untuk pengembangan program luar angkasa Iran, karena kami dapat mengetahui kelayakan dan keamanan dalam sebuah peluncuran pesawat luar angkasa," ungkap Fazeli.
Rencananya Iran akan mengirimkan monyet kedua ke ruang angkasa dengan menggunakan kapsul ruang angkasa bernama Pishgam atau Pionir, hampir sama dengan pengiriman pertama. Perbedaannya hanya terletak pada bahan bakar, kali ini Iran akan menggunakan bahan bakar cair, bukan bahan bakar padat seperti yang digunakan pada pengiriman pertama.
Sebelumnya NASA juga pernah mengirim seekor Simpanse, Ham, yang merupakan simpanse pertama yang dikirim ke luar angkasa pada tanggal 31 Januari 1961.

Pesona Pantai Jerman yang Telah Hilang

Salah satu pantai yang sering dikunjungi yaitu pantai Kuta, lain halnya dengan pantai jerman, dengan garis pantainya yang sangat panjang disini para wisatawan dapat melakukan aktivitas seperti berjemur, berselancar, dan bermain kano. Tak hanya beraktivitas, wisatawan bisa melihat kapal-kapal nelayan yang berjejer di tepi pantai dan kegiatan para nelayan yang sibuk merujut jaring-jaring yang robek untuk pergi melaut.
Berbeda dengan pantai lainnya, pantai jerman terletak di kawasan Tuban Kabupaten Badung Selain itu lokasi pantai ini juga tidak jauh dari bandara sekitar 10 menit perjalanan untuk menuju Pantai Jerman. Letak garis pantainya jerman sebenarnya masih menyambung dengan garis pantainya kuta, cuman terputus karena keberadaan gedung discovery shoping mall sehingga menambah pesona pantai jerman.
Seiring bertambahnya wisatawan yang berkunjung ke tempat ini, menjamurlah para pedagang souvenir dan makanan. Awalnya para pedagang souvenir dan makanan yang berjualan di tempat ini menjinjing barang dagangannya untuk dijual kepada para wisatawan, tetapi lama kelamaan satu persatu para pedagang mulai membuat patok-patok kayu di pasir pantai untuk mendirikan bangunan semi permanen sebagai tempat barang dagangan mereka. Sehingga sekarang pesona pantai jerman sudah mulai menghilang karena tepi pantai yang biasa digunakan parawisatawan untuk berjemur sudah tidak ada lagi, bahkan sekarang track pejalan kakipun sudah banyak sampah bekas dagangan.
