Half marathons continue to grow in 2013, with the state of Washington half marathon totals leading the way as one of the top 5 states with the most half marathons in the United States.
In February 2013, Nicole Blomgren, USATF Certified Official and Founder of Fifty States Half Marathon Club and Halfmarathonsearch.com online Half Marathon Race Calendar, reported that Washington half marathons 2013 have reached a total of at least 98 half marathons, and asserted there likely are more that may be unaccounted for.
The highest number of Washington half marathons appear to be Seattle half marathons, within the metro area, and in the surrounding Redmond and Tacoma areas.
