Why I Left My Insurance Plan Agent6670092

What I ascertained was using this new organization I could receives a commission on all my customer's telecommunications and strength expenditures. I believed, 'where the hell have I been?' I noticed when the common customer added up just how much they expended on: phone/local & longdistance, highspeed internet, satellite tv, mobile telephone(s), home security, gas and electricity, many would say they're close to if not over a 1000.00/month. I could earn up to 10% every month or about 100/month, every month on just one purchaser! And I've had thousands of customers! Then I spotted, 'Who better to capture these customers just when they need these services than me?' An insurance agent is gaining most of his/her new clients just when they are moving into a new home. And they need to sign up for most all these services.
As you might guess, I became a client. Fortunately for me, his rates were really great; but frankly, I had decided to go with him even if his rates were slightly higher than I had been paying. I made the decision to move my business to him because my agent at the time didnt care and my new agent did. I decided to switch because my new agent not only cared, but he helped me improve my existing coverages, which I was willing to do even if it meant paying a higher premium. (After all, why have insurance coverage at all if it doesnt protect us the way we want it to?) Not only am I a client, but I will no doubt stay his client for as long as Im in the area. You see we connect with people for who they are and not for what they do. Ive already referred other clients to him.
I was talking to a friend the other day, explaining what I do for a living, when she interrupted me and proceeded to tell me all about how wonderful her insurance policies agent was. Her story caused me to reflect on why I left my previous agent. I dont think my previous agent will be upset by this article, because not only did he not notice me when I was a policyholder, but Im quite sure he didnt notice when I left.
If I were starting today new in the insurance plan industry, and knowing what I've learned. I would choose to be independent, work from my home office, represent multiple carriers for both health and life products, leverage the internet for both marketing and sales and find a mentor to teach me how to do it right! A mentor in this business, will not only save you a fortune in both time and money, but will make you a fortune as a result of what they can teach you that you might NEVER learn on your own. Your mentor should be someone that overrides (makes commission) from your sales. You might initially make a lower commission percentage but the time shaved off the learning curve and increased sales will make up for it. In my college math class we learned that 80% of 10,000 is more than 100% of 2000 and that is very close to the ratio difference a good mentor can make. You will most likely end up with more than one mentor during your career. I have had 3 mentors (so far) during my career. One mentor taught me the basics of the health coverage business, including HSA's and how to sell them. My second mentor taught me the strategy of layering multiple products and how to free up health insurance plan money to fund life insurance. And my third mentor taught me how to recruit and train agents. It can be a lonely business working on your own from home based office so youll need to create relationships that will enhance both individuals efforts. A mentor can show you how to do just that. Find someone that you think has a business and strategy you would like to emulate. Make a working arrangement where they can override your production if they will teach you how to duplicate what they are doing. In short, you will make more money learning from a mentor.
If you are a small business owner, you definitely want to tap into the hundreds and possibly thousands of regional searches that are done in your area daily for products and services that you may offer.
How hard would it have been to let my customers know, 'by the way I can also help you with these other services, feel free to visit my website or call me or my assistant to help you set it up.' The great thing is I can do this for residential customers and commercial customers.
