Bangaladesh, officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a sovereign state in South Asia. It is located at the tip of the Bay of Bengal, bordering the Republic of India and Burma (Myanmar) on the north, west and east, and separated from Nepal and Bhutan by narrow Siliguri corridor in India. Along with the neighboring Indian state of West Bengal, it makes the ethno-regional Bengali language. The name Bangladesh means "Country of Bengal" in the official Bengali language. Bangladeshi Forum Bangladesh's current boundaries were established in the partition of the British Indian Empire in 1947, when East Bengal became part of the newly formed state of Pakistan. He was separated from West Pakistan for about 1500 km (900 mi) of Indian territory. Due to discrimination in political, economic state, linguistic and ethnic Pakistan, unrest, cultural nationalism and civil disobedience led to the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
