With all of the hype around Al Gore's Nobel Prize winning efforts, most are hoping the heightened awareness of global warming may turn some focus on the plight of the polar bears. If this amazing predator was directed to zoos o-r worse, particularly after hundreds of years of adaptation to the hostile Arctic environment It'd be utterly awful. If you think you know any thing, you will perhaps fancy to explore about like us on facebook. I was once fortunate to see a group of bears in the wild in the high arctic, a and two cubs - it was an incredibly moving site, considering this wasn't a haven but really ice streams seen from the Russian Icebreaker. What a great number of people were unaware of until recently is the fact that polar bears need the sea ice to freeze over. This provides the polar bears ideal hunting grounds for the seals that develop dens and breathing holes in about the floes. While this trend is not totally new, the frequency of the polar bear's forays into southern lands is likely to increase. A bear has gotta do what it's gotta do, after-all. Biologists worry the interbreeding might dilute some of the polar bears best (and least understood) variations, including the ability to navigate extraordinary distances in a dynamic environment with their aquatic skills, several sites and the instinct to catch seals under sea ice.

Arctic studies have shown that over the years, the sea ice grows and recedes with somewhat typical reliability however the last few years have shown an enormous recession, along with the escape of hundreds of Arctic glaciers. Call it global warming or anything you like, but I think enough time to start 'thinking green' is nowif nothing else, so the great white north keeps north. We may never experience the polar bear in our normal lives and not many people will get to go to them, but that is why we should act now - to keep these wild places wild.
