How To Build Self Confidence
De BISAWiki
Developing character is an extremely hard thing to do. It takes a lot of commitment to teach it, be accountable to it. This is the second item your children and teenagers will need in life. Start as young as you can to teach them about integrity. Being honest can only bring good things for them. Teach how to behave in today's society. What is accepted and what is not. Knowing that will help them both on a personal level and later in life, on a professional level. Also, you could have self -confident children or teenagers but lack character.
Individuals who have low self esteem generally exhibit signs of being depressed. In the workplace, you can keep an eye out for signs of depression among employees with low self esteem Depressed individuals often display some degree of apathy concerning small things, like hardly caring that their desk is cluttered. Then again, it should be noted that there are people with a healthy self esteem and they're just naturally messy. But in the office, communicate to your subordinates that they are to maintain a clean and tidy desk or work area at all times. If all goes well, this small action from your part will impact them positively.
Take time to "find" yourself. The life of a teenager can be hectic. Keeping a journal or a meditation/prayer practice can be good ways of setting aside time for one's self to slow down and pay attention to his or her thoughts, emotions, beliefs, fears and hopes for the future. By the time children become Self-Esteem teens, they have picked up many messages (explicit or implied) from family, friends and media about who they should be, what they should believe and how they should feel. A contemplative practice can give teens the opportunity to see past all of these "shoulds" and learn about who they truly are.
Self esteem is all about the way a person thinks of himself. A person possessing high self respect feels good about himself, while person having low self esteem feel worthlessness. Self esteem is vital and a keystone for having a positive attitude to live a better life. Self esteem is a vital aspect of your life because it has an effect on your thinking and acting process. It also determines the way you relate yourself to people. Low self esteem can result in lowering your confidence level, which can initiate the negative thinking process. This, in turn, can hamper the happiness and well being of a person.
In order to gain a sense of balance in your life, it will be helpful for you to look down the road and see what you want for yourself. This will help lead you in a worthwhile direction and make decisions that will help you toward these ideas. When you are poised to make a decision that might take you away from this direction, you will be better equipped to manage your time. You will find yourself making better discretionary decisions. Your choices will be more effective and help you make decisions that are right for you in the long run.
When you have a healthy level of self esteem (not self-hating but not self involved either) then you find it easier to actually forget about yourself. You'll only think about your finger if it's in pain or if you are obsessively proud of it — otherwise it can take care of itself. It's the same with your sense of self. We all need to engage in activities which we enjoy and in which we can "lose ourselves" regularly. Someone's mental and even physical health can be directly related to how "self-referential" they are in their conversation — as people become healthier they use the "I" word less.
