Roku 3 Wireless HD Streaming Player

While the Roku 3 lacks the composite A/V output included on the XD—which is useful for connecting it to older gear without an HDMI input—it does have a wired Ethernet port for connections to a home network, something missing on the XD. Both have built-in Wi-Fi (though the Roku 3 supports 5 GHz rather than the more crowded 2.4-GHz frequency) and a microSD card slot, but the Roku 3 also has a USB 3.0 port on the side, which can be used for adding a hard drive or playing media stored on a flash drive.
Interestingly enough, you can also play a handful of games on the Roku 3 after adding them to your device. One of the most popular games is Angry Birds Space, and I’d have to say that it’s pretty fun to play on. The graphics are very good, and playing with the remote is pretty cool. You can point with the remote to move the on-screen pointer around, and in the case of Angry Birds you can also pull back by moving the remote to the left. I’m not sure how it recognizes the motion, but it works reasonably well.
Well if you have recently bought Dvds-in the last few months-you may have noticed that quite a few of them have included notices saying that this film is now yours to download to a computer. This means that when you purchase the DVD you also purchase the downloadable version meaning you can have it on your computer tablets or iphone. SO what do you do when you want to watch your new film on your tv but have lost the DVD. Well this is where Roku and WDTV come in handy all you need to do is plug your external device into your Smart Device and voila!
People these days are always looking to bring down their bills and one bill that keeps getting higher and higher is your cable bill. You can add all these features and next thing you know you have your phone, internet and cable all tied up into one package and then you get your bill and it can reach to over $150. So what can you do to lower that bill? Easy, get a media streaming device like the Roku 2 XD. This device can replace your cable box with some of its online features like Hulu Plus and Netflix and even Amazon’s streaming media service.
Popular with consumers who have ditched expensive cable and cut the cord, Roku hardware has long offered access to many popular streaming video applications for a fairly low cost. Released during March 2013, the new roku 3 review hardware provides upgraded speed, a slick interface and a nifty feature on the remote control that helps you watch content privately. At a $99 price point, the Roku 3 replaces the Roku 2 XS in the Roku lineup. Roku is continuing to offer the Roku LT , Roku HD and Roku 2 XD at prices ranging from $49.99 to 79.99. Hardware
My initial rating was 4 stars due to the lack of YouTube. After a few days with Roku 3 I upgraded it to a 5-star. I still wish Roku supported YouTube natively but the lack of it is mitigated by the major improvements this new Roku has over its predecessors. Amazon's reviewing guideline suggests that 5 stars means "I love it" and I absolutely do love Roku 3. Indeed, I can easily switch to my PS3 or Blu-ray player if I wanted to watch YouTube but there's no other device with such a great selection of channels and the better, faster user interface alone is worth one extra star. -Amazon.com
