The Paleo diet

The Paleo diet, short for Paleolithic diet brings us back to the ancient years and essentially trying to recreate the diet of the cavemen. It is clear that by the time modern technology and cooking processes have changed significantly from the years of our ancestors. While they had to go and hunt for food, today we just go to the grocery store, where we find stands of prepared and processed foods. The problem is that with all these changes that have occurred, we have degraded the nutritional content of our daily diet and we have moved further and further away from what Mother Nature was provided to us. The concept of the Paleo diet is to go back to ancient times. In adopting this dietary approach, you have to give up all processed foods that are found in the supermarket and focus on foods that are natural or come straight from the ground. This means that your daily diet will consist mainly of meat and fish, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and nuts and seeds; oils are usually allowed in moderation. You need to avoid foods which include dairy products, cereals, starchy vegetables, fatty meats and foods that are high in salt (as well as processed meat products).
