Below are some things to consider when you compare local plumbers.

)Availability -When you have a plumbing problem that fixed quickly, the last thing you need is to be placed on a waiting list. Don't buy into a service that claims they will squeeze you in. Have them set an appointment.

)Cost -Different plumbing companies charge in different ways. Make sure that you understand what their billing practice is before hiring them. Do they charge a minimum or a trip fee for simply showing up? Are there after hours or holiday charges that are higher than standard. Make sure you have a written estimate of the expense before they begin the work.

)Experience -There's nothing wrong with dealing with a plumber that is new to the field, but make sure they at least have another experienced person with them, or available in case there is a problem.

)Subcontracting -Will the company you hire be doing the work, or will be handing it off to a subcontractor. This can be a big problem if there is unsatisfactory work done. Make sure they are licensed and insured.

)Guarantees -Compare the selection of plumbing services when it comes to guaranteeing their work. A confident and experienced plumber will stand behind their work.

)Reputation -There are bad plumbing services that flood the market with advertising. There are also good plumbing services that depend more on word of mouth advertising. They know that their quality work and affordable prices will proceed them. This is the one that is a gem to find. Ask around and see what people say.

)Speed -How long do they estimate the repair to take? Being without running water is an inconvenience, especially if you have young children. If it will take longer than one day for the repair, find out exactly how long you'll be without water.

)BBB Rating -What is their standing with the BBB? the Better Business Bureau can tell you if there are any complaints against the company, why and when.

)Timeliness -If you made an appointment, did they show up? Rescheduling or being late without a call to let you know can be aggravating and seriously interfere with your personal schedule.
