The most typical route when going from San Jos to simply take down to Jac is to continue steadily to Atenas, drive via Alajuela and further down the dark green slopes of the west side of Costa Rica until reac..
With only 2.5 hours (approx 117 km) drive from the capitol, San Jos, Jac seaside or playa Jac is one of the most visited shorelines in Costa Rica.
The long sandy beach includes a condition and ocean floor that promotes big waves, greatly to the delight on most people visiting Costa Rica.
The most typical route when going from San Jos to just take down to Jac is always to continue to Atenas, generate via Alajuela and further down the dark green slopes of the west side of Costa Rica until hitting San Mateo. Continue from there to Orotina and get road 34 along to Jac.
Also make sure to glance through the car windows when driving el rio tarcoles (tarcoles river) where you are able to see the natural habitat of the tremendous crocodiles of the Tarcoles River and the mangroves.
The Beach

The playa is just a bit over 3km in total in one end to the other. It makes a good walk and if your legs give up you, the neighborhood taxis could be more then pleased to help you out. You can even rent bikes and cars.
For reading, hold your eyes open and look for Jac News, a monthly English language publication.
The search is better in the wet season from May possibly to November, but according to that which you need in size of waves; Jac can really provide an all year searching experience.
Sights of Jac

Jac is truly the kind of place where doers go. Not to much to see locally. Things you can certainly do are book kayaks, go deep sea fishing or take a sunset cruise. Horseback riding is also remarkably popular and most resorts can arrange that for you personally.
The most recent craze to emerge in Jaco is paragliding and you can also choose a to private beaches.
Places to go when in Jac

It is possible to choose local tours to Carara National Park, La Catarata (waterfalls) and Tarcoles crocodile tours. You should also plan for a visit to playa Hermosa south of Jac where you may take the canopy visit.

Jac includes a bit too strong search to actually be described as a good place for young kids. Big waves, rip tides and under currents could be dangerous for someone young or unaccustomed to the ocean.
And as always, when dealing the sea, be careful. The wave in Costa Rica take anybody out in to the open sea and can changes the sea level several meters.
