Everything started in the late 90's. I needed to place some information o-n my internet site. A diary. A summary of forthcoming events. I started with basic HTML. One-page, with sections for every article. Simple.

Then I found out about 'blogs' and 'blogging.' Being wise, I picked Wordpress, the most popular application. How smart, I thought. Anyone could put up a site, should you get the WYSIWYG editor going. Very democratic. My dad discovered linklicious tutorial by searching Google Books.

This prompted my to create my outermost thoughts; o-n London, politics, and personal gripes. As a web-master, I watched to see Google index them. Visit linklicious alternative to compare where to deal with it. 'Here we go', I thought, 'soon, my treasures of extrospection will participate in the ages.'

Except Google did not like my website. It'd not index much beyond the leading page. Why, why, why?

Copy material? I set it to place only 1 post per-page.

No progress.

I checked out what Google was indexing. Then I checked out the blog HTML. Soon, all became clear.

In sum:

- Wordpress was still replicating my information, and

- It had no right META-TAGS, and

- There was a good deal irrelevant HTML, and

- The lay-out obscured this content.

I had a quick search on Google to get search engine optimization tips. There's a plugin 'head-meta information' ( http://guff.szub.net/plugins/ ). But I didn't use that, oh no.

For whatever reason, I got the idea that a comprehensive style is the solution. I tried modifying an existing one myself. Better, but not perfect. Google was needs to catalog more pages, but they all had the exact same title. My missives to an uncaring world were being ignored.

So I got somebody else to complete one, centered on my requirements, which were:

- Grab a META 'name' from the blog post 'title';

- Grab a META 'information' in the weblog 'excerpts';

- Put a ROBOTS 'noindex' draw in non-content pages.

But that wasn't enough. For best SEO results you must manage Word-press completely. You've to be _mean_ to it. You have to _man_ enough.

I did so a bit of re-search and created to following methods.

WARNING: They are severe. Making significant changes to-your URLs may influence them, If you have great rankings. Within my case:

- Moving my blog http://www.ttblog.co.uk to-the root web service,

- MOD_REWRITING its URLs, and

- Removing a 301 redirect,

... caused my PageRank to visit 0. BUT, site indexing was untouched.

This is temporary, as Google saw it as 'suspect' behavior. Identify more on this affiliated website by clicking linklicious vs nuclear link crawler. My site had been radically changed by me.

Listed below are the methods, for real _men_, who is able to look in the face of internet death and laugh:

1. Activate permalinks by visiting 'Options/Permalinks.' You could have to enable Apache MOD_REWRITE in your web consideration.

1a. Limit the permalinks rule to just the variable. Don't work with the date codes. This keeps your URLs short.

2. Position your site within the index possible. http://www.ttblog.co.uk is preferable to http://www.ttblog.co.uk/wordpress/

So an average article would appear to be

http://www.ttblog.co.uk/Im-hard-as-nails-me/

In place of

http://www.ttblog.co.uk/wordpress/2006/08/03/Im-hard-as-nails-me/

3. Then install an SEO'd theme. Be taught supplementary information on an affiliated website - Hit this webpage: Grocery coupon Solution to simplify your grocery list Hammock.

My blogs are now being found beautifully. The Google 'site:' command returns all my posts, and little else.

For my next problem, I accept Windows XP, and transform it into an os..
