Over these difficult economic times, many schools are already hard hit by budget cuts. Some schools in Pennsylvania have been instructed to cut gym class from their curriculum because there's virtually no money for it. No money for Gym class? The truth is, as we get closer and nearer to the "fiscal cliff" that people keep hearing about, government budgets are receiving tighter and tighter. All programs which can be within the curriculum of each school system across the country at this time are being put through careful scrutiny, leaving school Administrators to wonder if their school will face the budgetary ax.

Just like gym class, music classes and music departments within many school systems have come under scrutiny, are already threatened, downsized, as well as eliminated.

This is a shame, because most students respond well to music. Music is food for your brain, and in each day full of learning, can bring a much-needed and incredibly fulfilling reduced numbers, letters, science and history. Music is culture, and schools should teach students the value of culture in society. Therefore a music program is downsized or eliminated, it's to the creativeness with the teacher to discover an alternative instructional approach, the one that may benefit the student at a higher level, helping them better learn and also be by integrating various facets of music into the classroom on a regular basis.

Think about it, music may be cheated and could be a teaching tool. There is more to music than what you learn in chorus class or what you learn when you're conditioned to play Three Blind Mice on the plastic recorder or flute inside the 3rd grade. Music can and really should be a part of your school experience, even if there's not money in the budget for a music department.

How is this possible? With creativity and intelligence, most everything is possible. For example, When the subject matter pertains to the matter of immigration, then your day's lesson can give attention to dances, costumes, instruments, and sounds of music from various ethnic groups and from various cultures who have emigrated to the country. Music grabs the attention and soothes the soul, calming students and igniting their inner creativity simultaneously. This kind of stimulation encourages students to pay attention, to evaluate also to describe whatever they see, hear and even sing.

Music adds excitement and rhythm to just about any classroom lesson, whether kids sing along, dance, or perhaps hear the music even though it is played. Think it over, how much will we learn from Nursery Rhymes and simple songs when we are kids? The ABC's are taught with a song. Holiday tales, how you can ties shoes and simple morals are taught with song. So music can be used in main subjects for example math, social studies, as well as in reading or perhaps the language arts.

There are numerous ways to incorporate music in to the classroom, without needing to increases taxes and without destroying budgets. Teachers can use a slide projection machine with music playing softly without anyone's knowledge, which both energizes the minds with the students helping them retain the information. Simply put, music makes the class as interesting as it can often be, and can assist the children leave fulfilled, in better moods, and definately will help them better support the lessons that are being shown.

Music is way too vital that you be discarded over budgetary issues, and our kids are extremely important to skimp on. We must are able to teach children the worthiness and great things about music, in a way that is affordable. I'm fairly certain that this can be achieved by incorporating ingenuity from the most critical asset of every school system, our teachers. They do not need to re-invent the wheel or perhaps think past an acceptable limit creatively, they only need to utilize music being a teaching tool. I do believe they'll realize that it makes their difficult and often under-appreciated job very much easier.
