Much like gym class, music classes and music departments within many school systems attended under scrutiny, have been threatened, downsized, or even eliminated.

This can be a shame, since most students respond perfectly to music. Music is food for your brain, and in a day full of learning, can bring a much-needed and extremely fulfilling rest from numbers, letters, science and history. Music is culture, and schools should teach students the importance of culture in society.
