The Expendables 3 is a 2014 American ensemble action film directed by Patrick Hughes, and written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, and Sylvester Stallone. It is a sequel to the 2012 action film The Expendables 2, and functions returning cast members Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Kelsey Grammer, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz and Robert Davi. It is the third installment from the Expendables film series.

The story follows the mercenary group known as "The Expendables" as they come into conflict with ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), the Expendables' co-founder, who is determined to destroy the group. The film will likely be released on August 15, 2014.

The Expendables come face to face together with the team's co-founder Conrad Stonebanks. Ross was forced to kill Stonebanks immediately after he became a ruthless arms trader, but Stonebanks survived and has now created it his mission to destroy The Expendables. Ross resorts to recruiting a new and younger generation of Expendables to help the group overcome his old adversary.
Rating
The film would be the initially inside the franchise to become rated PG-13 differing in the earlier films' R rating. At the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Stallone announced that he was aiming to get a PG-13 rating for the film. Stating that albeit it was close to getting rated R, he wanted to reach a younger and broader audience with the new film.
