Although I will happily work with clients in Southampton; this is a bit of a test page to check out if you can rank for a term like SEO Southampton via live blogging. I am using the plus version of the script however I am linking to the original creator of the plugin as it was his fine work that led to this functionality in the first place. Live blogging allows me to add to the page in little snippets.

Not An SEO Consultant in Southampton

I will just add that I am not an SEO Consultant in Southampton itself; I live in Petersfield and mainly work in Portsmouth . In saying that, the internet makes the world a lot smaller hence creating this page for potentially gaining clients as well as testing out a theory. If I wanted to be a little bit spammy I might now add a link saying that Southampton; Portsmouth and Petersfield are all in Hampshire.

How Live Blogging May Help Me Attack Southampton

Well it is quite simple really; I create around 200 words of text upon the page; through in the keyword a couple of times such as SEO Southampton and then add the live blogging short code.

Over the next few weeks I add to the content of the page; a few words at a time; part of this will get automatically posted to Twitter and elsewhere; so Google comes back; thinks this is an up to date shit hot webpage and ranks me accordingly. It is really that simple.Oh and the updates will appear below!

Updates

This is the first live blog post for SEO Southampton and comes 3 days after creating this page. Within those three days the site has moved to page 4 for the term. With a little luck this will help it onto the next page and a top 30 spot.

Now in the top 30 after 5 days; once upon a time this would have happened on day one; alas the new Google! Anyhow at least it is moving but not too happy at overtaking a friends website…no bragging rites; mind you he does offer web design in Southampton rather than SEO.

I must admit I forgot to add extra content to this page so it hasn’t moved mush recently. Also I have as of yet not built any external links to it; so my next job is to start doing that. It should though only require just one or two to help it start to move.

I have not updated this page for a while, after been busy with client work; with a little luck this will correct that. Oh; even without adding to the page it has now crept into the top 20 for the associated search term.
