Why Coaching is Better Than Training

French lesson - Training involves teaching people how to proceed, when you should do and how to get it done. Training is telling people the way to do things. It isn't normally a participation event even with some role playing it could include. Even though training continues to be required in most situations, it is not competitive with coaching.

Cooking lessons - Coaching is really a participation event with interaction with the employees and people. It's performed on the daily or continuous basis. This means helping with situations at various times when needed or required and letting the worker they are doing a great job. Coaching includes watching the worker to assist them to sort out issues that assist to correct the process while remembering to exhibit them how to improve with encouraging words and actions.

Music lessons - The target of education is reassuring the employee they are doing an excellent job, and building their self-esteem to carry on doing productive quality work. Past experiences are making people familiar with being always told the negative things they're doing instead of encouraging them by revealing the correct things they are doing. When seeing something that is completed incorrectly, politely explain the mistake and show the employee the proper procedure. Be sure you be polite and courteous constantly.

Coaching can be a person process. Each employee is exclusive so the approach must be as unique because the person. Being totally effective in coaching someone, the coach needs to know of the individual over a somewhat personal level. Knowing issues including prior experience, temperament, and talent level help a coach to adjust the approaches used. Coaching a brand new employee is vastly different then coaching a seasoned employee.

Training employees is still needed despite having coaching. Training allows a staff member to learn new techniques as well as the basic foundations needed to affect the work they do. Coaching can be used to help the employee apply what has learned. Continued coaching regularly ensures methods taught are executed correctly to result in minimal mistakes and errors from employees.
