Be sure to get your mind and body on the same team. I can?t stress how important this is. If you go through your life thinking, ?I?m just fat, I?ll never be healthy? or anything like that - you?ll behave in a way that is in kind with that level of thinking. Please remember, all the wonderful stories you?ve heard of other people succeeding at losing weight, getting healthy, being physically fit, making good with their life or any other accomplishment - they were human beings, just normal people, just like you. If you decide something is for you and are willing to live that way, it is for you!

Healthy habits

Remember the heading of this page? SIMPLE, DAILY steps. I won?t be telling you to jump off the deep end here. First remember your weight and physical fitness has to do with the things you put into your body and the work you put out with your body. The smarter you intake foods and liquids - plus the more you do physically is how to lose weight, get stronger, maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle for health and fitness

Habit 1 I know you?ve heard it a million times before - but unless you?re doing it already, drink more water. ?They? say 8 glasses of 8 ounces a day. Try it.. just one day. If you are like many, you?ll realize you weren?t taking in nearly that amount of clear, pure, life giving water. There are people much more qualified than I to tell you adjustments that need to be made to that figure for weight and level of physical activity.

Habit 2 Eat more slowly. Let?s be honest with ourselves and each other for a moment? We tend to take in a LOT of food. We have been programmed to eat quickly, so we can get back to _______ (fill in your own blank there - I bet most of you said work). And of course we eat on the phone, watching television, while doing other things. Eat your food quietly. Focus on the food. The smell, the way it looks, the way it tastes. Take smaller bites of food. Put down your fork (or sandwich, slice of pizza, etc) between bites. No seriously, put it down! And chew your food more throuougly before swallowing - between 20 and 40 times. It?ll be weird at first for many of you? Do it anyway.

In doing these simple things, you?ll be able to sense the signals from your stomach to your brain that you are full in a more efficient way. As a result, you?ll end up eating less and being more satisfied because you won?t be weighed down by all that distracted eating, under-chewed, quickly eaten food. And that means more energy for you to burn!

Habit 3 Move more. I know, duh, right? But listen, the key here is to enjoy the movement. Just because you see the gym full of people doing exercises you hate doesn?t mean you have to do that. One of the best things you can do is simply go for a walk. I didn?t say buy a treadmill, put it on 1,000 incline and run 10 miles an hour.. Grab a friend or loved one or go alone and just enjoy a walk. Breathe the air, look at the sky, the trees, enjoy being part of something much larger than yourself. Do you like riding a bike? Playing basketball? Gardening? Lifting weights? Doing morning stretches? Whatever! If it?s more than sitting there rotting in front of a computer or television set, it counts! A favorite that gets mentioned constantly is just parking further away - but I still see people fighting it out for the close spots, so I know it hasn?t caught on massively yet.

Habit 4 Sneak in some healthy stuff. I was not born or raised to love vegetables. I wish I was, but that?s just not real for me. But here?s the trick, I can sneak in the healthy stuff just like I?m a kid and it gets past my overly judging mind. Some kale and spinich on a sandwich instead of iceberg lettuce, remove the cheese, use mustard instead of mayo and in just a few, small and simple moves my sandwich is better for me.

Try juicing! Warning: You can get caught up in the very costly juicer buying game - don?t! If you already have a juicer, great.. if you don?t try getting a juice once in a while from a local place that sells them. I mean FRESH juice, just made - nothing already in a container, sitting there waiting to be bought. Fresh fruit and vegetables in the right combinations can taste great while providing your body with amazing nutrients from their raw, natural state. Be sure to wash your fruits and vegetables even if they are organic - never hurts to be extra safe with the things you are fueling your body with.

My opinion Back when I was in my teens I read a book about carbohydrates being great. Now, many years later I can find many books saying carbs are the devil. I think the most important thing we can arm ourselves with is information. Exercise equpiment is nice, but you can get a great workout without it. Fad products, the next greatest thing are all well and good - maybe you?ll see results but for my money - the best investment is an education I am responsible for giving myself and decent quality food to eat.

There are differing opinions on pretty much everything. Let?s be smart and realize though, nobody knows everything. It can be quick and easy to form an opinion on something that sounds like the truth across the board. But that is rarely if ever the case. Either there already is numerous things to the contrary or later, we discover we didn?t have enough information. Considering more than one viewpoint and make your best guess based on your own personal results played out over time. THAT is the sure way to your own personal success story and for a fitness breakthrough
