One software application any optimizer must love is Firefox. Now some might say 'Why Firefox, it is only a browser'? Yes, it's a browser, but the one that supports a variety of jacks, a number of them invaluable for search engine marketing. So let's see what those jacks are:
1. SEOpen ( https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/570/ ): this really is one of the greatest and most used Firefox seo extensions, and has several tools which make it a favorite of mine. For different viewpoints, people can take a view at: import. So let us see what it could do:
- in Google it can check for: backlinks, listed pages, relevant pages, cache and PageRank.
- in Yahoo and MSN: indexed pages and backlinks.
- for backlinks, traffic details, Alexa: summary and related sites.
- keyword thickness of the most used words on the site.
If the site is included in the service * DMOZ checker: see.
- search for robots.txt.
- validator to test your page for errors the validator is used by it from www.w3.org).
There are other things, but these are the most important. This rousing importing encyclopedia has some lofty suggestions for the inner workings of it.
2. Search Engine Optimization Links ( http://www.webmasterbrain.com/seo-tools/firefox-extensions/seo-links/ ) is still another expansion I use daily. When the expansion si effective and you hover over a link a tooltip will appear that will show you Yahoo, MSN, and Google link popularity and position data for the URL and anchor text pair. When you are simply checking this can be troublesome, but you can simply de-activate it having a right-click!
This might be very easily used to check on your search-engine rankings for a particular site, and here is how: jot down an inventory with all the keywords and keyphrases that you want to rank for, and then link those words or phrases towards the web-pages associated with them!
Now every time you want to check always your rates activate the Search Engine Optimization Links extension and float within the links -- you'll see where your pages come in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Click this web site the guide to search engine optimization to explore when to deal with it.
3. Don't waste anymore of your precious screen property merely to uncover what your PageRank and AlexaRank is! SearchStatus ( https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/321/ ) could sit anywhere you want (I keep it in the status bar) and you'll have the important info at-a glance. But this little tool may do a lot more than that:
- it shows what meta-tags a niche site has
- inspections for backlinks and found pages in Google, Yahoo and MSN
- it shows the robots.txt report
- key-word thickness report purpose
- and best of all: the highlight 'nofollow' links will show you what links will be followed closely by search-engine spiders -- invaluable when you want to submit your site to an index and do not know if it will matter from a seo perception.
Therefore in the event you aren't using Firefox, go have it! It could be your best friend when it comes to seo!
