In February 2013, Nicole Blomgren, USATF Certified Official and Founder of Fifty States Half Marathon Club and Halfmarathonsearch.com online Half Marathon Race Calendar, reported that Colorado half marathons 2013 have reached a total of at least 73 half marathons, and asserted there likely are more that may be unaccounted for.

The highest number of Colorado half marathons appear to be Denver half marathons, within the metro area, and in the surrounding Boulder, Colorado Springs, and ski resort towns up in the high Rockies.
