Sean Erick Cummings Assists Others Through Regular Volunteer Work

Every year thousands of people take up volunteer work. Millions donate to their preferred organizations or charities. Then, there are some people who do a little of both. Sean Erick Cummings is one of many individuals who believe it is just as important to donate personal time as it is to donate money. For this reason, he has volunteered for two of causes.
The first time Sean Erick Cummings volunteered for a cause was in 2002. Around the holiday season, he decided to work as a volunteer for the Toys for Tots program. As a young adult, Sean Erick Cummings believed all children should experience the joy of opening a gift Christmas morning. He felt so good about his volunteer work that he volunteered for Toys for Tots again in 2003.
Children were not the only ones to benefit from Sean Erick Cummings volunteer work. After serving in the united states Army, Sean Erick Cummings developed an appreciation for veterans. He realized how important helping veterans and veteran charities are for the nation. He volunteered his personal time from 2008 to 2011 at his local veterans affairs hospital. He performed a number of tasks at the hospital including the often-overlooked purpose of listening.
When a veteran needed to talk, Sean Erick Cummings was there to listen. If they just needed something to do, Sean Erick Cummings was willing to provide simple conversation. Volunteering doesn't mean doing something complicated, often times, even the simple things mean a lot.
Sean Erick Cummings enjoyed his time volunteering, but after 2011, found his personal life was picking up. He didn't have enough spare time to continue regular volunteer work. While his volunteer work is in hiatus, he looks forward to continuing his work for others in the future.
Volunteering isn't always easy. There are a number of things people volunteer to do and not all of them are a walk in the park. Sean Erick Cummings' list of volunteer work includes two charities and serving the United States Army.
After graduating from high school, Sean Erick Cummings joined the United States Army. Joining the armed service was his ultimate act of volunteer work. He learned many things through his time in service, not the least of which was completing what you start and quitting is never an option. This drove him to complete three college degrees.
In addition to his military service and college education, performing volunteer work as a civilian was also vitally important to him. He volunteered for the Toys for Tots program twice. He worked collecting gifts for impoverished families in 2002, and again in 2003. He felt better about his efforts knowing that he made a difference in children's lives for the holiday season.
As a soldier, volunteering for veterans struck a chord with Sean Erick Cummings. He realized after his time in service that he could make a difference for the local veterans in his community. In 2008, he signed on to regularly help his local veterans affairs hospital. Seeing how much his presence helped the wounded veterans, Sean Erik Cummings continued his work at the hospital. He didn't stop until 2011.
Sean Erick Cummings knows people benefited from his volunteer work. Whether in the hospital, for children, or serving his country, Sean Erick Cummings hopes people realize volunteer work is important. While he is taking a break from volunteer work for now, he fully plans on gifting his personal time again in the future. Serving others means a lot to Sean Erick Cummings because of his positive and caring nature.
