However ESL schools work with a consistent ideology, they believe it is always better to learn the language in a country where it is regularly spoken.
As this topic is often certainly one of the first covered in art history courses, this is a great time to discuss motivations for creating art. Start by creating a class discussion. Ask students why they think humans have been making art for thousands of years. Perhaps create a running list on the board. Help students see that quite a few of the motivations that potentially inspired these early artists are still applicable today.

In Tartuffe, Moliere also created 1 main voice of reason in order to add a sense of balance to Tartuffe's outrageous character. This voice of sanity was Elmire's brother and Orgon's brotherinlaw, Cleante. As an outside source coming into the house Cleante immediately saw the ridiculousness of Tartuffe and the spell he had cast over Orgon. Cleante realized that, "Like courage, piety has its hypocrites" and he made numerous attempts to convince Orgon that Tartuffe was among those false preachers of religion (Tartuffe 261). Cleante had a vantage point simply because he was not an immediate part of the family and he had not been living with Tartuffe. Therefore, Cleante had a much better chance of having Orgon listen to him as opposed to the rest of his family who Orgon felt resented Tartuffe for no reason other than that he had been living in their house and preaching. Cleante was used to show a reasonable side to the audience, as well as Orgon, and was needed to add a sense of reality to the play and balance out the extreme lack of moderation in Tartuffe. Another character who was able to see through Tartuffe's disguise was Dorine who informed Cleante, when he came to visit, that Tartuffe, "Loves to preach an ethic so sublime that anything we do becomes a crime" (Tartuffe 251). Ultimately, Dorine was a voice of reason, however, simply because of her position as a servant, and a woman, she, during the seventeenth century, would not have been "qualified" to offer advice or an opinion and by no means to have it listened to. Dorine did try to state her opinion of Tartuffe but she was intended to be extra of a humorous character. However, even as a voice of reason it took Cleante, and the rest of Orgon's family, a great deal of time and effort to get through to Orgon and convince him or Tartuffe's lying nature. Tartuffe and his religious spiels contained such a great power over Orgon and were engrained in him so deeply that he honestly believed that he was doing the right thing by God by doing what Tartuffe preached to him to do. Moliere hoped that by creating a voice of reason his audience would better understand his view of religion in society and perhaps realize that they should not believe everything that they were told.
