Toilet training is a major landmark for a kid. We'd purchased a book called Once Upon a Potty for his first birthday and h-e loved reading about Joshua using the bathroom. My mother bought him a DVD named I Gotta Go! which he enjoyed seeing and singing along. My mother bought my son a bathroom when he was around 1.5 years of age and I started sitting him about it from time to time.
But none of those things got him to make use of the potty each time. The key with him was Michael & Ms. I had spoken to some other mom at Kindermusik about how precisely she got her son to attend the bathroom (h-e was a year younger than my son). She said she began giving him M & Ms everytime he went to the bathroom. When we got home, I started using her idea. Do you know what, my daughter started using the bathroom every-time the same day. Remarkable! Inside a couple of weeks, I stopped using the M & Ms and he kept using the bathroom.

Of course, he's no longer using his potty; he's finished to the large potty with a chair. He is like such a big child using the big bathroom and no more wears education underwear during the night. H-e wakes himself up to go potty. When he doesnt have any accidents during the night he's always pleased with himself.
