Never give a punishment and never follow through. For e.g. you said there will be no video games for this week but before the middle of the week the kid is playing the games because you allowed it. This child already realized you can't keep your word. It's going to create a lack of trust which may cause problems in the future.

Both mom and dad should be on the same page when coming up with a decision about your child. One parent really should not be saying yes and the other parent saying no. This will create animosity involving the child and the parent who said no.

the brain and art - You do not need to buy our child's love. As we implement the right policies and hang up standards he will love you for what you stand for. Before you know it he will arrive at understand that what you are doing is in his best interest.
