Battery is basically like the lighter or match for that cigarette: without it, the electrical cigarettes would be worthless, and since the smoker can't do anything whatsoever like drink the e-liquid, they're completely playing a useless cigarette unless they maintain a charged battery on hand, as well as some e-liquid to refill their cigarettes with or some disposable e-cartridges, which some e-cigarette kits include.
After smokers are past their initial hesitations about opting to buy electronic cigarettes or buying starter e-cigarette kits, they often seem to increase the risk for switch for good. Non-smokers aren't complaining either, therefore it seems everyone seems happier!
