fostering intelligence in early childhood - Good parenting skills ought to be practiced everyday and all day. It is a challenging task but we have to maintain it throughout. Children know very well what makes you tick and just what humors you. They will try what to test you, that's the reason I emphasize on maintaining rules in general.
A good parent i think is considered as one who can display her child how much it is loved, one that can discipline the kid, one who can be trusted and one who shows respect. A child that is shown respect easily returns the favor.
In my opinion in teaching morals and setting rules for youngsters. A child that has rules to adhere to in most cases turns out to be the little one with more respect. When I say rules I do not mean rules that are set at a correctional facility for inmates. I will be speaking about basic rules and morals in the home to develop that child in to the citizens we admire today.
toilet training - Setting a bedtime to your child at an early age and sticking with it is the start of showing good parenting skills. By doing this children will recognize that bed time is 8:00 or 8:30pm and that is final.
Here are a few basic parenting tips that will help you to maintain good parenting skills:
Never promise your child that you will attend his football game or her dance recital and you also did not show up. As a result your child doubt your belief.
Never give a punishment and don't follow through. For e.g. you said gone will be the video games for this week when the middle of the week the kid is playing the games because you allowed it. This child already realized you can't keep your word. It's going to create a lack of trust which may cause problems in the future.
Both parents should be on the same page when creating a decision about your child. One parent really should not be saying yes and the other parent saying no thanks. This will create animosity involving the child and the parent who said no.
