In CPR training they'll inform you not yell out "Call 911" in to a crowd but to select somebody specific. In large groups, everybody assumes someone else will require responsibility and nobody acts fast enough. You must point or speak right to specific people to have help arrive as fast as possible. Fortunately the incident over the past weekend did not require CPR and the injured man will most likely be okay.
Having CPR and first aid training may be necessary whenever you want. It's important to learn to protect yourself, your family and strangers short of funds.
