The Expendables 3 can be a 2014 American ensemble action film directed by Patrick Hughes, and written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, and Sylvester Stallone. The story follows the mercenary group generally known as "The Expendables" as they come into conflict with ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), the Expendables' co-founder, who's determined to destroy the group. The film is going to be released on August 15, 2014.

The Expendables come face to face together with the team's co-founder Conrad Stonebanks. Ross was forced to kill Stonebanks soon after he became a ruthless arms trader, but Stonebanks survived and has now made it his mission to destroy The Expendables. Ross resorts to recruiting a new and younger generation of Expendables to assist the group overcome his old adversary.
Rating
The film will be the initial within the franchise to become rated PG-13 differing in the earlier films' R rating. In the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Stallone announced that he was aiming for any PG-13 rating for the film. Stating that albeit it was close to being rated R, he wanted to attain a younger and broader audience together with the new film.

On July 1, the Motion Picture Association of America granted The Expendables 3 a PG-13 rating; the offered description getting "violence such as intense sustained gun battles and fight scenes, and for language".Nevertheless, the initial version handed to the MPAA received an R rating, and had to be trimmed down to meet the aspired PG-13 rating.
