Electronics Recycling: Why, What and How

People buy different kinds of electronic devices in order to add to their sources of entertainment, or to make their tasks easier and faster. The industry of electronic gadgets has seen a huge increase in demand due to this. But most of us do not realize that millions of tons of electronic gadgets are discarded every year worldwide, thus adding to our landfills, and causing harm to our health and the environment. Electronics recycling is one such way with which we can minimize the addition of e-waste in our atmosphere. Let us have a detailed look at it.

Why adopt electronics recycling?

A few years back, nobody had even thought about the idea of recycling electronic goods. But with time, engineers started noticing that electronics comprise of a huge range of expensive elements which can be recycled and reused. By re-using these elements, not only money and elements can be saved, but earth can be saved from global warming too. When the lifecycle of an electronic good comes to an end, consumers discard it in the landfills as an e-waste, which refers to electronic waste. But these items contain elements like brominates, cadmium, lead, plastics and fire retardants, which can cause significant harm to the environment. By recycling these products, we can re-use them and help curb the pollution, and reduce excavation of the metals used in the manufacturing of these electronic products.
